Chapter 053 Not Yet Over
byThe fourth layer of the ancient battlefield space.
Yue Hongling recovered from her injuries quickly. The eighty-one fearless divine seals could attack, defend, recover, and even unleash explosive power.
However, it wasn’t easy to regrow a completely severed hand.
But it didn’t matter.
The Vermilion Bird had already left her, and she didn’t know where it had gone.
She still had her own matters to attend to.
Her emotions were very low.
Her bright and handsome face drooped, looking listless, far from the supreme demeanor of one who battles heaven and earth.
She was done for!
Yue Hongling was utterly miserable.
When she looked back at the past, she felt like an absolute fool.
A fool to an irredeemable, unimaginable extent.
How long had she even known Feng Wuxie? Yet she had trusted a Demon so deeply, so incredibly deeply!
She knew all too well what kind of person her senior brother was and how good he had been to her.
But even though she clearly knew how well her senior brother treated her, how could she have been so blind to her own... a white moonlight...
Yue Hongling couldn’t help but laugh bitterly.
A blackened, rotten white moonlight, and even after becoming an Emperor, she still couldn’t forget it.
The better her senior brother treated her, the more she felt it was out of guilt.
Hahaha...
"Feng! Wu! Xie!"
The three words were as cold as a bone-chilling wind blowing from the depths of hell.
She would find Feng Wuxie, she would cut him into a thousand pieces, and then she would go to her senior brother to beg for forgiveness.
As long as her senior brother was willing to forgive her, she would do anything, even die!
Even death wouldn’t frighten her.
Her senior brother was kind-hearted, as long as she kept apologizing...
No, that wasn’t enough. Her senior brother loved her most when she was sweet and charming.
A water screen appeared in front of Yue Hongling. She looked at her reflection and forced a smile.
No, this smile wasn’t right.
She tried a different smile.
No, still not right.
Where is her innocence?
Where is her charm?
At this moment, Yue Hongling suddenly realized that her charm had only appeared because she was immersed in happiness.
But now, where is that charm?
She waved her hand to disperse the water screen, and a glint appeared in her eyes, accompanied by a faint blood-red hue.
Feng Wuxie, wait for me!
I’m going to kill you!
Feng Wuxie was panicking.
He truly couldn’t believe that the siege had turned out this way. So many prodigies, so many who were unreachable to him, had failed to trap Yue Hongling?
What the hell? Were they just too useless or what?
How could there be a Demon who saved Yue Hongling?
And what about that Dragon Prince, Broken Sword Demon—names that shook the heavens, but what happened?
They died in such a pitiful and miserable way.
It was truly unimaginable that such a group of beings could be so overrated and hollow.
Feng Wuxie was almost driven mad with anger.
He was almost driven mad, and so were the demons, ghosts, and monsters.
The Demons became the target of everyone’s anger. Why would a Demon betray them? Yue Hongling had already been driven to a dead end.
But then, out of nowhere, a Demon appeared, and such a powerful one at that, directly rescuing Yue Hongling.
And the Demons claimed they didn’t even know that firebird?
The firebird’s strength surpassed even the Dragon Prince, yet the Demons said they didn’t know it?
Are you kidding me?
If it weren’t for the fact that the Demons had suffered the most casualties and contributed the most in this joint siege, the other factions would have suspected this was a setup by the Demons.
Were the Demons colluding with the Humans?
Unable to vent their anger on the Demons, they could only take it out on Feng Wuxie.
The Devils wanted to grind Feng Wuxie’s bones to dust on the spot, and the Ghosts were ready to extract his soul, but the Divine stopped them.
"Calm down, Feng Wuxie still has his uses," said a Divine named Shui Ye.
"What use? Yue Hongling has already seen through Feng Wuxie’s true nature. How could he possibly earn her forgiveness?" a Devil roared.
"He can’t earn Yue Hongling’s forgiveness, but now he’s become the person Yue Hongling hates the most. I observed it clearly—Yue Hongling seemed to have missed something extremely important because of him, only to find out he was like this."
"It’s clear that Yue Hongling is deeply pained by whatever it was she missed."
"That means Yue Hongling now utterly despises Feng Wuxie to the core."
"Without a doubt, she hates Feng Wuxie far more than we do, to the point of wanting to eat his flesh and sleep on his skin. We can exploit this aspect."
Shuiye's eyes gleamed with wisdom.
"You mean..."
"Exactly, love can be a trap, and so can hate."
Feng Wuxie was ecstatic.
So, does that mean I can survive after all?
Unexpectedly, Shuiye glanced at him lightly.
"I despise such a person as well. Keeping him alive is enough. As for the rest, you can vent your anger freely!"
The smile that had just appeared on Feng Wuxie's face suddenly froze.
"No..."
"No, you can't do this..."
A tall Devil stepped forward, instantly tearing off a large chunk of Feng Wuxie's flesh and eating it.
Blood dripped profusely.
Piercing screams echoed.
The surviving demons and ghosts vented all their fury on Feng Wuxie.
The screams were like the most pleasant melody to them.
Shuiye showed a hint of pity, releasing strands of blue light to begin healing Feng Wuxie.
"Be gentle, don't kill him."
"Don't pull off his arm, you idiot, it's hard to reattach."
"Don't step on his crotch, you might kill him from the pain!"
After a full hour of torment, Feng Wuxie no longer had the strength to scream.
He woke from unconsciousness in pain, only to pass out again from the agony.
His body was covered in blood, with no intact skin or flesh.
Shuiye continuously healed him, barely pulling him back from the brink of death.
"I assume your anger has subsided somewhat. I'll take him away now. If there's an opportunity, I'll contact you all again to hunt down Yue Hongling. Next time, Yue Hongling will not escape!"
...
After this period.
Feng Wuxie's body was swollen, his skin puffed up with white fluid inside, so thin it could be described as "fragile as a bubble!"
A slight mishap, a small tear in his skin, and the intense pain twisted Feng Wuxie's expression.
But he dared not move recklessly, as any movement would cause more skin to tear, increasing his agony.
After the group had vented their anger through torment, much of their rage had dissipated, but Shui Ye's fury remained unabated.
Now, Feng Wuxie was once again brought before the newly arrived Divine by Shui Ye.
A new hunt was about to begin.
