"When will you come to report to my branch corps?" The female mage, observing the situation discreetly and finding the other guests were not paying attention to them, inched forward a little, moving closer to Shaoke. Of course, the table in between was a solid barrier between them.

Female Mage Roman's words suddenly made Shaoke feel uneasy. After thinking for a moment, he explained in detail the matter of reporting to the military department to Mage Roman in order to seek her opinion. "Mage Roman, if the military department doesn't agree to my request, I'm afraid I won't have any other recourse."

"Your approach is clearly wrong," Mage Roman gently furrowed her brows and once again looked over the mage who had once been very familiar to her. "You should explain things calmly to that mage. I think if you do that, he won't insist on the existing allocation method." Here, Mage Roman couldn't help but feel troubled by Shaoke's impulsiveness. She didn't want the mage before her to have unpleasant interactions with some mages in the military department because of her matters.

In the end, Female Mage Roman suggested that Shaoke go to the military department again tomorrow to clarify the matter with that mage, in hopes that mage would forgive his rashness. However, the female mage's earnest pleas didn't change Shaoke's mind one bit. He repeatedly rejected her suggestions and advised her not to discuss the matter further.

"Mage Roman, let's go get some rest," Shaoke said, grabbing the female mage's small hand and gently kneading it. "Both you and I need rest now." Ignoring the female mage's reaction, he pulled her along firmly, intending to leave. Female Mage Roman merely blushed deeply but did not refuse Shaoke's somewhat brusque decision. Instead, she picked up her staff lying nearby and closely followed Shaoke's steps as they headed downstairs.

The serving maids enthusiastically settled the bill for the two mages and casually asked, "Honorable Mages, we have good rooms here. You're welcome to spend the night here and get some proper rest, and no one will disturb you." As she spoke, her large eyes fixed intently on Shaoke, awaiting his decision.

Upon learning that there were rooms available for rest, Shaoke gladly nodded in agreement. He didn't want to search for an inn on the cold streets at this hour. He then softly inquired with Female Mage Roman and, after receiving her gentle nod of approval, followed the beautiful maid to the rooms at the back.

It turned out that behind the multi-story tavern was a large courtyard, divided into several simple small compounds. The maid, carrying a glass-paned lantern, led the two to their accommodation. After giving them a knowing glance, she swayed her hips as she left.

The room was spacious, though more than half of the space was occupied by a large bed. The remaining limited space held a writing desk and a round table serving as a dining table. Of course, a decorative bookshelf was unavoidable. However, after a brief inspection, Shaoke found that most of the books were basic spell knowledge texts copied by low-level mages, all written in modern common magical script, which held no interest for the two mages to read.

After the maid left, Roman, who had been somewhat reserved, suddenly let her guard down. She lazily stretched her waist and then plopped down on the large bed. Now she could no longer suppress her exhaustion. "Xueye, I'll sleep first. I think my condition must be terrible right now," she said, slipping out of her robe and under the soft goose-down quilt.

Watching the female mage's un-mage-like behavior, Shaoke simply smiled and then climbed onto the bed as well. However, he did not remove his clothes, instead sitting cross-legged to begin his evening practice. "Mage Roman, don't you need to meditate?"

The female mage buried her head in the pillow and slightly shook it. "Here, call me Moxier!" she said before lying still. Clearly, she had decided to forgo meditation tonight. After receiving her answer, Shaoke gently stroked Mage Roman's snow-white long hair, silently feeling the warmth emanating from her neck.

As Female Mage Roman's breathing gradually steadied, Shaoke, drawing on years of experience, immediately knew she had fallen asleep. Feeling a pang of heartache, he covered the female mage with the quilt, added a large amount of firewood to the nearby fireplace to increase the room's temperature, and then began his meditation.

A night passed. When Mage Roman woke up, she found Shaoke leaning against a pillow, intently reading a book. The female mage let out a soft groan, then somewhat lazily sat up, gently rubbing her sore body. Suddenly, she said to Shaoke, "Xueye, can you help me with something?" As she spoke, she moved a bit closer to Shaoke.

"I'd be happy to help," Shaoke said, putting down the book and gently pulling the female mage into his arms. "What's wrong?"

Female Mage Roman was slightly surprised by Shaoke's response but only chuckled softly before slipping out of his embrace. However, she used Shaoke's thigh as a pillow and lay down. "I'll sleep a bit more. I'm sure you don't mind me resting, right?" she said, looking up at Shaoke, hoping to get a satisfactory answer from him. But Shaoke's actions left her somewhat disappointed, though not severely so.

Putting down the book, Shaoke gently kissed the female mage's fair forehead and helped her adjust her position, thus granting her request. After doing this, Shaoke did not continue reading. Instead, once the female mage closed her eyes again, he placed his hand on her head and began gently massaging it using the unique massage technique from the military department, hoping it would make her more comfortable.

Seeing the slight upward curve of the female mage's lips, Shaoke softly asked, "Mage Roman, how long has it been since you last slept?" He then added, "You don't need to hide anything from me."

Under Shaoke's massage, the female mage only let out a comfortable moan. "A long time. Since this experiment of mine started, I haven't had any decent sleep. Hmm... probably over a month now."

The news from Female Mage Roman's mouth made Shaoke's heart ache. "You shouldn't do this. Are you trying to imitate me? If you become like me, I'm sure no other male mage would pursue you."

Mage Roman merely chuckled softly but didn't offer much explanation. "I know. In the past, I was always the one lecturing you. Now our roles have reversed," she said, snuggling closer to Shaoke and stopping his massage. "You should rest a bit too. After waking up, I'll take you for a good tour around the capital. Hmm... it's been many years since I last toured the capital." With that, Female Mage Roman fell silent. The exhaustion accumulated over several days, combined with the comfort of the large bed and Shaoke's presence, was no longer something she could resist.

Mage Roman completely relaxed her mind and began to sleep. When she woke up again, she found candles lit once more in the room, and Shaoke sitting in front of the fireplace, fiddling with a grill and roasting something. As she was about to get up, she realized all her clothes were gone. Her bare upper body was suddenly exposed to the air, causing goosebumps to rise on her fair skin. Fortunately, she quickly slipped back under the covers. "Xueye, is this how you treat every female mage you're alone with?" Mage Roman softly scolded Shaoke but received only a strange look from him and nothing more. However, the female mage wasn't truly blaming him; she merely wanted to express the unique shyness of a woman.

Watching the female mage put on a pale yellow silk nightgown, Shaoke asked with some concern, "Shouldn't you rest in bed? It's still a bit cold here." He pointed to her bare feet. "I don't think the carpet here is very thick."

But the female mage paid no heed to Shaoke's suggestion. She walked directly behind him, gently embracing him and feeling his warmth. "Hmm... this is better."

The unique softness of a woman quickly transmitted through the robe to Shaoke. He abruptly abandoned the food he was roasting, turned around, pulled the female mage into his arms, and launched a somewhat rough assault.

Despite the female mage's resistance, the battlefield eventually shifted to the soft large bed. Only when a blush spread across the female mage's fair body did Shaoke stop his caresses and suddenly enter Mage Roman's body, beginning to move vigorously upon her. The female mage, unaccustomed to Shaoke's roughness, tightly gripped his arms pressing against her chest, passively enduring the intense impact.

After the smokeless candle beside them had burned down by a small half, the two excited mages finally stopped their intense activity, exhausted. The female mage lay on top of Shaoke, gently moving back and forth. Only after Shaoke let out a shudder and a low cry did she stop. However, the hands gripping her hips did not let go because of her cessation; instead, they tightened even more.

"Moxier," Shaoke gently kissed the female mage's eyes, calling her by the name she requested for the first time. Mage Roman lay quietly on Shaoke, taking several deep breaths to recover somewhat from the intense activity. "Xueye, do you often do this kind of thing in the Death Mage Corps?" She was curious about the methods Shaoke had just used, knowing he must have learned them in the Death Mage Corps.

Gently patting Female Mage Roman's lower back, Shaoke didn't hide anything. "Can you tell me in detail what happened to you there?" Mage Roman only let out a soft sigh before changing the topic again. "What you wrote in the letters wasn't clear. I still can't understand it in detail."
