Chapter 3: Beauty Saves the Hero
by“Ah-choo!”
Xu Feng sneezed and rubbed his nose. He wasn’t sick, so was someone talking about him? Impossible. Transported to another world, he knew no one. His girlfriend’s longing from Earth couldn’t possibly cross tens of thousands of light-years. Staring at the dense vegetation before him, the young man felt a sense of helplessness.
As the saying goes: “When it rains, it pours.”
Xu Feng was utterly speechless about what had happened to him today. Just as he was about to lose his virginity with his girlfriend, he was inexplicably transported—which was bad enough—and where he ended up was a desolate wilderness. After searching forever, he found a magic teleportation scroll, but the destination sent him to the middle of a dense forest.
Xu Feng was lost. He had been wandering in the forest for two days. Though he hadn’t encountered any ferocious magic beasts, there was also no food. *Damn it, how could this be?* Could he really become the first transmigrant to starve to death?
Looking around, there was nothing but trees. All that talk in stories about endless wealth and countless beauties after transmigration was pure nonsense. He didn’t ask for much—just a piece of bread would do.
Xu Feng, who never believed in gods, began to pray sincerely. When he opened his eyes again, a miracle appeared: two women came into view. Xu Feng’s eyes widened more and more, glinting with a wolfish gleam.
Don’t get the wrong idea—this wasn’t lust. After all, he had been starving for two full days. Think about it: go forty-eight hours without food. To a starving man, a beauty is definitely not as appealing as a piece of bread. The saying “warmth and fullness lead to desire” holds true—when you’re hungry, no one can feel desire.
“People.” The joy of seeing other people flooded Xu Feng’s mind. He staggered over, but the two women became very wary. The young woman in swordsman’s gear stepped in front of the other: “You… what do you want?”
Catherine was quite skilled in martial arts; she was quite famous in Ruel City. But she had never imagined a man’s gaze could be so “naked”—that hungry wolf-like stare sent chills down her spine. Had she encountered a lecher?
Even the strongest woman is still a woman. Miss Catherine, known as the “Thorny Rose,” actually felt a surge of fear facing this strangely dressed man.
“Hey, do you have any food?”
Poor Xu Feng’s vision was already blurry. Two days and nights without food had drained his strength. By the time he reached the two women, he didn’t even have the energy to check if they were ugly or beautiful. After saying those words, he collapsed in a heap, unconscious…
The two women looked at each other. Seeing that the man didn’t seem to be faking it, Catherine slowly relaxed her guard and bent down to check his breathing.

Beautiful Sea Blue Star has a more complex ecosystem than Earth. Besides humans, there are many other highly intelligent beings: beastmen, elves, dragons, and more. After thousands of years of development, they have established their own spheres of influence. Ruel is a small city in the southeastern part of the human Taige Empire. Though the city is small, because it borders the elves’ settlement, Green Sea Forest, and lies on the trade route between the two sides, it is incredibly prosperous, stimulated by commerce.
There aren’t many nobles in Ruel City. The Baron’s mansion in the southern part of the city is already a prominent local family.
It was currently spring. Sunlight pierced through thin clouds, spreading warmth over the land. Flowers bloomed, and all things grew. The servants of the Baron’s mansion were busy with their tasks, but in their spare time, they discussed a very interesting matter.
Today, the young mistress went for a walk in the forest outside the city and brought back a young man—a very interesting young man, dressed in a very… peculiar way.
“You know, since I was little, I’ve never seen anyone wear clothes like his. And his hairstyle is so strange too.”
“Really? But I heard he’s quite handsome. And according to the doctor, he wasn’t sick or injured—he fainted from hunger.”
“Fainted from hunger? Really?”
…
Girls always love to gossip. Several young maids chattered away. Meanwhile, in a guest room deep within the courtyard, Xu Feng finally opened his eyes. His stomach was still a bit hungry, but he felt much better than before. After he was rescued, Catherine had someone feed him some honey water.
It felt so good to be alive. Xu Feng sighed in relief and looked around. The room was spacious and bright, with excellent lighting. The furniture and decorations somewhat resembled medieval Europe. Combined with the teleportation scroll he had accidentally triggered, it seemed he had transmigrated to a magical world.
His mood… how to put it? Complicated. Honestly, when he used to read novels online, Xu Feng also envied the protagonists—no worries about money, automatically surrounded by countless beauties, living freely, seeking revenge, conquering the world… That was surely more enjoyable than struggling to find a job after graduating from university!
Humans are creatures prone to fantasizing. Xu Feng had also imagined what it would be like if he could transmigrate. But once it became reality, Xu Feng realized how laughable his earlier thoughts were. Faced with a completely unfamiliar world, all he felt was confusion. What should he do next?
“Creak.” The door was pushed open, and footsteps sounded. Catherine entered the room and found the young man staring blankly at the ceiling.
She didn’t speak. This young man gave her a very strange feeling—mysterious clothing, that wolf-like gaze when they first met, and now such melancholy eyes…
A boy like a mystery.
After a long while, Xu Feng turned his head. A girl came into view. She had a waterfall of golden hair, a lovely face—seemingly even younger than him—and radiated youth and vitality.
Such a beautiful girl—if placed in a university on Earth, she would be the prettiest girl on campus. But having just experienced a major upheaval, Xu Feng wasn’t in the mood to appreciate beauty right now.
Memories from before he fainted slowly surfaced. She must have been the one who rescued him. Xu Feng managed a weak smile: “Thank you.”
“What did you say?”
A brief exchange, and then the two stared at each other, wide-eyed. Xu Feng was dumbfounded—was this for real? They couldn’t understand each other.
Actually, this was normal. How could the languages of Earth and Sea Blue Star possibly be the same? But Xu Feng’s heart sank to the bottom. Without communication, forget about wealth, beauties, or making a name for himself—even survival would be a problem.
Was he really the unluckiest transmigrant?
The answer, of course, was no. Just as Xu Feng was feeling depressed, a ‘beep’ sounded in his mind—a strange noise, somewhat like electronic synthesis: “Language scan initiated. Analyzing pronunciation and phrase structure. Searching database. Relevant records found. Reading…”
“What is this?” The young man was very surprised, but soon a delightful change occurred… he could understand the girl beside him.
Xu Feng didn’t know that this came from the main control computer of the Trad Expedition Fleet. This supercomputer had evolved intelligence. The moment the battleship was annihilated by a black hole, its core separated from the main body. Originally intending to seize Xu Feng’s body, it backfired spectacularly—instead, it merged with the young man…
Xu Feng didn’t understand the cause and effect, nor did he dwell on it. After all, he was a transmigrant; perhaps this was a special ability gained during the transmigration process!
Bad luck had finally left him. A spark of hope flickered to life in Xu Feng’s heart…
