by adminThe elder of Sacred Dragon Mountain had already begun chanting an ancient and profound incantation. Guided by the elder standing on the fifth level, the four elders on the fourth level joined in the chanting. Then, the Dragon God attendants on the third, second, and first levels gradually began to chant in unison. A massive stream of light flowed down from the top of the "Dragon Sealing Platform" like ripples in water, gliding over the surface of the golden gemstone platform, evoking a series of mysterious dragon runes. These runes continuously appeared in the air, gradually coalescing into a series of large magic arrays that slowly ascended into the sky.
The clouds in the sky were also drawn by the magic arrays, beginning to roil as if stirred by countless giant hands. Suddenly, a deep vibration emerged from within me, causing the slowly rotating magic array in the sky to pause momentarily before spinning wildly. An indescribable yet palpable wave of sound erupted from the magic array, spreading far and wide in all directions.
This sound wave continued for half an hour before gradually subsiding. I noticed that only a few "Dragon Emperor Knights," who had been transformed by dragon essence, reacted to the sound wave. The others simply proceeded with the ceremony, completely unaware of the power they had invoked.
"The summoning of the Wind Mystic Knight has been transmitted to all dragons across the Mainland. Now we just wait. If any dragon is willing to respond, it will teleport here within an hour. Of course, if multiple dragons respond simultaneously, only the first one will come to the Dragon Sealing Platform," said the elder who had completed the ceremony, walking over to me.
Just as he finished speaking, a white light shot up from the Dragon Sealing Platform.
"Huh? Already a response?" The elder turned in surprise, just in time to see a white dragon stepping out of the teleportation magic array: "An ice-element White Dragon?"
The emerging dragon was covered in snow-white scales, shimmering brilliantly. Its seven sharp horns glowed with an icy blue aura, and its wings spread, creating a cold mist. It was indeed an ice-element White Dragon. Our reactions to this outcome were vastly different; the elder was delighted, while I felt somewhat disappointed.
It's important to note that although every dragon is a super-class magical beast, there are still differences in strength among them. Among the ten common types of dragons—Gold, Red, Sea, Silver, Black, Green, Bronze, Blue, Poison, and White—Gold Dragons are the strongest, not only due to their massive size but also their mastery of both fire and lightning magic, with the potential to evolve into six-attribute Triple-Headed Gold Dragons. Red Dragons, known for their fierce combat skills and sheer strength despite being single-fire attribute, are next. Sea Dragons, though rarely involved in conflicts, have formidable size and strength, generally reaching the upper ranks of Level 10, occasionally even the peak. These three types are the most sought-after mounts for Dragon Knights.
Silver Dragons, while average in physical combat, are highly intelligent and excel in magic, having built the only dragon city, Moonlight Dragon City. Black Dragons, once exiled underground for allying with demons, excel in witchcraft and curses. Green Dragons, former guardians of the Elven Forest, maintain close ties with Wood Elves, enhancing their plant-based magic. These three types typically reach mid-Level 10, but none have ever become mounts for Dragon Knights due to various reasons.
The remaining dragons generally possess lower-level strength. Bronze Dragons, with their tough scales, excel in melee combat. Blue Dragons, capable of lightning breath and incredible speed, and Poison Dragons, skilled in widespread destruction with their toxic mists, are powerful but limited. White Dragons, with their ice attributes, struggle to deal direct fatal damage, making them relatively weaker. Thus, facing a White Dragon, I felt some disappointment, despite not initially planning to rely on a dragon's power.
However, the elder's excitement was justified. High-ranking dragons are extremely arrogant and rarely form contracts with ordinary humans. Even when attracted by "Dragon Emperor Knights" or "Supreme Dragon Saints," they seldom cooperate with Sacred Dragon Mountain. Lower-ranked dragons, however, have a greater chance of befriending Sacred Dragon Mountain, providing remarkable strength despite not matching the power of higher-ranked dragons.
As we prepared to begin the contract ceremony, an unexpected change occurred. Twelve beams of teleportation light suddenly appeared on the Dragon Sealing Platform, bringing forth the twelve thousand-year-old dragons that guard it, whom I had seen half a year ago. The leading Blue Dragon elder roared loudly in a language I did not understand, addressing the summoned White Dragon. The White Dragon responded coldly, barely acknowledging the hostile intentions of the surrounding dragons.
Confused, I had never heard of dragons interrupting a Dragon Knight's summoning ceremony, nor of all twelve thousand-year-old dragons being simultaneously summoned. Just as I was about to ask the Sacred Dragon Mountain elder who understood dragon language, another teleportation beam flashed, bringing the "Supreme Dragon Saint" to our side. Without looking at me, he stared intently at the White Dragon, his expression changing with the Blue Dragon elder's tone.
"Sir Dragon Saint, what is happening?" I asked, utterly bewildered.
"This... don't worry, it's just a minor incident," the Dragon Saint glanced at me with a complex expression, leaving me unable to guess what was going on. He had no intention of explaining further, merely saying, "We can start the contract ceremony soon. This White Dragon is quite powerful. Take good care of it, and if anything goes wrong, come to Sacred Dragon Mountain."
Confused but knowing Sacred Dragon Mountain would offer no further explanation, I watched as the dragons seemed to resolve their issue. The twelve thousand-year-old dragons returned underground, and the contentious White Dragon took its place in the magic array. The elders of Sacred Dragon Mountain resumed their positions, and the contract ceremony finally began.
