Chapter 13: Strike While the Iron is Hot
by"Brother Xu Feng, didn't you say you weren't a doctor?"
"Well... I don't know either. Anyway, I just thought of a way to treat the princess out of nowhere."
Xu Feng's words sounded absurd, but they were actually the truth—he simply omitted the story of his crossing over. The miracle he created originated from the abilities he gained during the process.
He originally thought such an explanation wouldn't satisfy the girl, but unexpectedly, the elf didn't press further. Yu Sha was a considerate girl; she could tell Xu Feng was holding something back. And for some reason, she felt an inexplicable trust in this human youth—perhaps because they had shared hardships, or perhaps because he had once saved her. She stole a glance at Xu Feng, and, not knowing what she was thinking of, the elf's face flushed slightly.
As the empire's capital, the city of Arthas was vast and divided into several districts. The southern area near the imperial palace was the noble residential quarter, and the mansion bestowed by Baphia XV was located there.
It was just a street away from the imperial palace, only a half-hour walk.
"My lord!"
The official sent by the emperor was already waiting there. Upon seeing Xu Feng, he bowed respectfully, his words tinged with flattery. This youth had cured the princess and was now the most sought-after figure.
The estate was quite large, complete with a villa, gardens, and a swimming pool. In addition to the essential facilities, there were dozens of male and female servants. Looking at the grand mansion before him, a flash of joy lit up Xu Feng's eyes—when good fortune comes, it can't be stopped. He had just arrived in the imperial capital and had already become a noble.
It seemed the gods were favoring him.
After touring his new residence, Xu Feng grabbed a handful of gold coins from the emperor's rewards and pressed them into the accompanying official's hand. "Sir, you've worked hard. A small token of my appreciation."
"Lord Viscount, you are too kind," the man said with a smile, tucking the gold coins into his pocket.
After seeing off the emperor's envoy, Xu Feng headed to his villa—a three-story building that was less a villa and more a small, exquisite castle, sturdy and incredibly beautiful.
"Young master!"
An elderly man with silver hair bowed respectfully, dressed impeccably. "I am Mortan, the steward bestowed upon you by His Majesty."
"Very well, Uncle Mortan. Please have someone prepare some food for me."
"Yes, young master. Just Mortan is fine."
Xu Feng smiled and turned to the girl beside him. "Yu Sha, what would you like to eat?"
"I..." The elf looked up and saw the magic clock hanging on the wall, her face immediately showing a hint of anxiety. "Oh, I've been out for so long already. Brother Xu Feng, I... I should go back now."
"Go back?" The youth frowned. "Wouldn't it be better to have a meal first?"
Xu Feng was no fool. After all these events, it was clear that this elf girl had developed feelings for him. As the saying goes, strike while the iron is hot. If he could win over such a beautiful girl, the very thought made his heart race.
"I'm sorry. If I don't return soon, everyone will be very worried."
Yu Sha had sneaked out without telling her attendants. By now, her brother must already know. If he told their father after she returned, she would never be allowed to leave the Green Sea Forest again.
"Alright."
Seeing the girl's anxious expression, Xu Feng knew he couldn't keep her any longer. "I'll see you out."
Holding the girl's soft hand, Xu Feng escorted her to the gate.
"It's alright, Brother Xu Feng. I can go on my own. I... I'll come to see you later."
As she said this, two blushes spread across the girl's cheeks. Xu Feng's heart skipped a beat, and a surge of joy welled up inside him. This girl definitely had feelings for him too.
As the saying goes, "Women don't love nice guys." To win a beauty's heart, one must be bold. Xu Feng gently tightened his grip and, amidst the elf maiden's soft gasp, pulled her into his embrace.
A flicker of panic flashed in the girl's eyes, but Xu Feng gave her no time to resist. He leaned in and swiftly captured her sweet cherry lips. The moment their lips met, Yu Sha stiffened as if struck by lightning.
Although this was Xu Feng's "first kiss" in this otherworld, back on Earth, he had had a girlfriend and was quite experienced in kissing. Under Xu Feng's persistent teasing, the elf's body finally softened. Her small hands involuntarily wrapped around Xu Feng, and her lips parted, allowing their tongues to entwine...
It was a heart-pounding intimacy. The elf girl's lips were like fragrant petals, into which the youth deeply lost himself. After a long while, their lips parted, a silvery thread of saliva stretching between them.
Yu Sha's heart pounded like a frantic deer. The blush spread from her face down to her slender, jade-like neck. She lowered her head, not daring to look at Xu Feng. Even though the youth had stolen the kiss, she felt as if she were the one who had done something wrong.
What a shy and adorable girl.
In truth, Yu Sha was also confused. They had only met for the first time today, and yet he had treated her like this... But for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to be angry. Instead, she felt a faint hint of joy.
Unknowingly, the image of Xu Feng had been imprinted in this elf girl's heart.
"Sha Sha, come here whenever you have time. Remember, I'll miss you."
"Mhm."
Yu Sha nodded obediently, like a docile kitten, then reluctantly left the youth's embrace. Xu Feng didn't return to the estate until her figure disappeared at the end of the street.
After enjoying a fine lunch, Xu Feng went to the back garden. A cool breeze wafted by, carrying a refreshing fragrance. Everything that had happened today replayed in his mind.
It had to be said, heaven had truly treated him well. Originally, he had merely come to the imperial capital to try his luck, but now he had become a noble, possessing an estate, wealth, servants, and... a stunningly beautiful elf girl who was practically his girlfriend.
It all felt like a dream!
Taking a sip of the fruit-based beverage, Xu Feng told himself this was just the beginning. In this otherworld, he would surely live an even more brilliant and dazzling life.
During the crossing over, he must have gained some kind of superpower. Xu Feng was eager to master it, but after fumbling around for a while, he was still clueless. It seemed to only take effect at critical moments.
Having experienced so much today, Xu Feng was tired. Lying on the garden's rattan chair, he unknowingly fell into a deep sleep.
