Chapter 29 Listen to My Advice
byChapter 29 Listen to My Advice
Suye turned his head to look at Holt beside him.
That massive body stood like a large water barrel, his head drooping, saliva flowing like a small waterfall, snoring like the roar of a beast.
A pig goblin would probably be scared to death by this?
On the other side, Jimmy helplessly poked Holt's waist with his finger.
"Huh... hmm?" Holt suddenly woke up, staring around with bloodshot eyes, then realized he had fallen asleep, blushed, and chuckled.
Niedern didn't mind and said, "Who saw the barrier between worlds and the divine light? Raise your hand."
Suye looked around and found nine classmates raising their hands. Three out of his six tablemates were among them—Palos, Luo Long, and Rick.
Suye also wanted to raise his hand but noticed that all nine who did had excellent grades. Moreover, he had encountered too much divine light, so he decided to hold back for now.
Niedern stared at Suye.
Suye was surprised, wondering why Niedern was looking at him.
Niedern shifted his gaze and slowly said, "I know some of you might have doubts about meditation and are hesitant to raise your hands. That's fine; you'll get used to it over time. Also, the ring I'm holding can sense whether everyone has approached the divine light."
"Is that possible?" Suye thought.
Niedern continued, "Alright, let's go back to the classroom. I have an announcement to make regarding Suye's punishment."
All the students curiously turned to look at Suye, some gloating, others feeling sympathetic.
Hutton and a few students from Table Four immediately wore satisfied smiles.
"Hang in there!" Holt gently patted Suye's shoulder, causing him to fall back to the ground as he was about to stand up.
Holt awkwardly smiled and quickly pulled Suye up.
Jimmy walked over, smiling, and said, "Don't worry, Teacher Niedern is actually very nice. He'll probably just give you a minor punishment."
"I think Suye is in for a lot of trouble," Albert whispered nearby.
The group walked back to the classroom. Suye deliberately stayed behind and, when entering last, stood in front of the magic blackboard instead of returning to his seat, facing all the students.
Hutton and a few others sneered secretly, but their voices were much quieter than before, causing some students around them to chuckle.
Suye wore a carefree expression, typical of a poor student.
Niedern cleared his throat and said, "Given that Suye was late on the first day of school, which had a very negative impact and violated the spirit of Plato's Academy, I hereby announce that for the next year, he must collect the content to review today and the content to preview tomorrow from each subject teacher every day before dismissal, write it on the blackboard, and remind his classmates. Suye."
Suye immediately responded, "I accept Teacher Niedern's punishment and promise to complete the task every day and never be late again."
"Very well. Go ahead and write it."
Suye immediately picked up the quill magic pen and began writing on the blackboard.
The wobbly Greek handwriting appeared on the board, causing many students to laugh.
Initially, Niedern frowned slightly, but soon noticed that although Suye's writing was poor, his strokes were steady, and he nodded lightly.
Clumsy effort surpasses clever indulgence.
Soon, Suye wrote down all the content needed for tomorrow's classes on the blackboard.
After finishing, Suye stared at it for a while, nodding unconsciously.
Some students couldn't help laughing again.
"Go back to your seat," Niedern said.
"Thank you, Teacher!" Suye smiled and returned to his seat.
However, a few top-performing students watched Suye, deep in thought.
As soon as Suye sat down, he received a magic letter from his studious tablemate Rick.
"Was this punishment your idea or Teacher Niedern's?"
"Of course, it was Teacher Niedern's," Suye replied quickly.
"Can you let me take this opportunity instead?" Rick's second letter arrived shortly after.
"What do you take me for? How could I let you take my punishment! Am I the kind of person who sells out my classmates for personal gain? Rest assured, as long as I am here, I won't let you suffer such a punishment! You ranked second last semester, overtaken by Luo Long. Don't waste your time like this. Listen to my advice: focus on your studies and catch up to Luo Long. Good luck!"
"...," Rick's reply consisted of only dots.
Holt whispered, "I remember now. Did you go to the teacher's office earlier for this?"
"Yes."
At that moment, the dismissal bell rang.
Many students eagerly prepared to leave, but Niedern's words shattered their hopes.
"We still have half a class left."
The students looked despondent.
Niedern continued, "According to tradition, every second-year student's first day involves answering a question followed by a discussion at each table. Now, everyone open your magic books to the page where you send me messages. When I ask the question, you must write down your answer and send it to me within three seconds. In other words, whatever comes to your mind first, write it down. Even if it's not an answer or even an insult. Understood?"
"Understood..." the students responded listlessly.
A sneer suddenly appeared on Niedern's face as he said, "Now I'm getting to the important part. If anyone can't give me an answer in three seconds, they fail this year! It doesn't matter if you've earned a silver medal or become the dean; you still fail."
For some reason, many students felt a chill run down their spines. Teacher Niedern rarely made threats.
"I know you're hoping for leniency, but let me tell you, nine years ago, there was a genius warrior from a noble family who was deemed a failure for being one second late. His grandfather, unable to tolerate this stain, came to the academy and caused a commotion. He was a Saint Domain warrior, and you can guess what happened—he became food for the Sea Demon Fountain."
Suye's expression changed as he remembered that the pool and statues were not just decorations; at their core was a demonic sea monster.
"Stay away from that pool..." Suye felt a chill down his back.
Niedern scanned the class and asked, "Do you understand now?"
"Understood." This time, the response was much louder than before.
"Did you forget to eat? I can't hear you."
"Un-der-stood!" The students shouted loudly.
Even Suye had to join in, shouting along with Luo Long, who rarely spoke. Only Palos remained silent.
"Good! Now everyone focus. After I ask the question, I'll count to three, and it will all be over!"
The atmosphere in the classroom grew tense as everyone stared intently at their magic books.
"Alright, here's the question: Dean Plato orders you to climb Mount Olympus. What would you do? One! Two..."
Almost no one dared to think too much, quickly jotting down their answers and sending them immediately.
When Suye heard the question, he paused for a moment because two thoughts almost simultaneously appeared in his mind. But then he realized his first idea was too radical and chose to respond with the second thought.
"Find a way to climb." Suye wrote this and sent it right away.
