    Chapter 46 The Full Cup

Suye picked up the black clay wine cup and slowly walked toward Hutton.

"Don't... don't..." Hutton hurriedly scooted backward, huddling in the corner and desperately kicking his legs as if the ground were icy, constantly slipping.

Seeing his son like this, Harmon felt both anger and urgency, but he did not dare to say a word.

Even Senet had betrayed him without hesitation; what could he do?

Suye placed the black clay wine cup on the edge of the table and then slowly extended his hand toward Hutton in the corner, revealing a gentle smile. "Do you remember what we talked about yesterday? We are friends, classmates, partners, not enemies."

Seeing Suye's kind demeanor, Hutton's fear slightly diminished, and he asked, "Will you forgive me?"

"Of course, of course." Suye's smile became even more sincere.

Hutton hesitated for a moment before slowly extending his hand. Suye pulled Hutton up for the second time and led him to the table.

Suye reached out, straightening Hutton's robe while speaking gently, "Look at yourself. Why harm me and make such a mess of your life? Why not focus on your studies and growth, becoming excellent on your own? Why must you try to prove yourself by trampling others? I guess you feel you can never be good enough, thinking of yourself as trash or dog shit, so you resort to these methods to show off."

Before Hutton could fully understand, Harmon's face tightened. Then he saw Suye's left hand grab Hutton's hair while his right fist, like a hammer, repeatedly smashed into Hutton's nose.

Blood gushed from Hutton's nose like a waterfall.

Hutton first cried out in pain and was soon half-unconscious, only staying upright because Suye held his hair.

Hutton's face looked like ground meat.

Suye took the black clay wine cup with his right hand and placed it under Hutton's chin.

Blood mixed with tears slowly flowed into the cup.

Suye turned to look at Harmon and smiled. "Don't worry, just wait a bit longer. After all, you chose such a large cup."

Harmon's body trembled, and his soul shuddered.

At that moment, he felt as if a devil were drinking his son's blood.

He couldn't believe he felt unprecedented fear towards a child.

Suye was smiling, yet Harmon's world froze.

"The bleeding is slow. You're Senet, right? Come help." Suye looked at the Egyptian man.

Senet said nothing and quickly stepped forward, delivering three punches to Hutton's nose, each one harder than the last. Suye almost lost his grip on Hutton's hair.

    Swish...

    The blood flowed again.

Hutton screamed twice and then passed out.

Harmon clenched his teeth, wishing he could tear Senet apart.

Suye sighed, "I told you to hold Hutton, not hit him."

Senet paused and quickly steadied Hutton firmly.

Kelton laughed at the scene and turned to Hake. "Is this the guy you took down in three seconds?"

"Two and a half," Hake thought for a moment and answered seriously.

    Senet's face darkened.

Harmon felt as if he were in an ice cave.

After a while, Hutton groggily opened his eyes. Before he could see what was happening, he heard Suye's voice.

    "It stopped again."

Then, Hutton's vision went black, and he fell unconscious, still confused and in pain, too stunned to feel anger.

After an unknown amount of time, Suye finally placed the full black clay wine cup on the table in front of Harmon.

"Uncle Harmon, here is what you wanted," Suye said softly.

Harmon's body jolted; Suye's voice sounded like whispers from hell.

Harmon glanced at his pitiful son and the blood-filled cup mixed with snot and tears, then slumped down, his eyes vacant.

"Suye, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I should have restrained my son, taught him to treat his classmates well, and to be kind to others..." Harmon spoke, his voice tinged with tears.

"Fear and shame are the roots of cowardice," Kelton said.

Suye gently pushed the black clay wine cup forward.

"You wanted it; drink it." Suye's tone was chillingly calm.

Harmon looked up at Suye, disbelief in his eyes.

This young man seemed like a demon.

"Drink it." Suye's tone remained calm.

Kelton suddenly sighed. "Harmon, I've heard of you. You're quite smart. Why did you pick a fight with Suye? Even I don't have the courage to do that."

Harmon's body shook even more, regret overwhelming him. He began to suspect that Suye might be the illegitimate child of a powerful noble, with a terrifying background, otherwise Kelton wouldn't speak like this.

Senet's hand was usually steady, allowing him to play with a dagger like a butterfly, but now, he could not control his trembling right hand.

Kelton turned to glance at Hake and said, "Can't you see how scared he is of Suye? He even dare not ask for his magic dagger back."

Hake shot Kelton an annoyed look, feeling that he was still being mocked even at this moment.

Suye pretended not to hear Kelton's words and said to Harmon, "Are you waiting for someone to toast you, or do you want another dish?"

Harmon gritted his teeth, grabbed the black clay wine cup, closed his eyes, and gulped it down in one go.

He let go of the cup, which fell to the ground, and bent over, retching on the floor.

"Gah..." Harmon felt as if countless rusted iron blocks were churning in his stomach.

Senet watched his old friend coldly. In the end, he was just a merchant, not a warrior.

Kelton finally smiled and asked, "Suye, what exactly happened?"

Suye recounted the entire story from beginning to end.

"Pelus? That’s the same name as a friend's child. But are the students of Plato's Academy so cowardly now? Back in our day, there were noble students who acted arrogantly, but we beat them up badly until they publicly apologized. However, I didn’t expect you to be so ruthless."

Kelton looked at Suye with interest. He had seen too many bloody scenes, but the methods displayed by this sixteen-year-old boy were far more shocking than those scenes of carnage.

Suye smiled and said, "I know very well how to treat friends and how to treat enemies."

"Indeed, few people can distinguish that clearly. How about having a drink together today?" Kelton suggested.

Suye recalled the overflowing black clay wine cup and said helplessly, "I don’t particularly like watered-down wine."

"Everyone feels that way; you’ll get used to it," Kelton said.

The Greeks believed that wine could drive people mad and affect their minds, so diluting it was considered a rational and elegant way to drink.

Suye turned to glance at Harmon and then suddenly turned back to smile at Kelton.

"What’s so funny?" Kelton couldn’t figure out why Suye was smiling.

"He has better taste than you," Suye continued to smile.

    "Hmm," Hake agreed.

Kelton remembered that Suye had mentioned Harmon was willing to invest two hundred golden eagles, and his expression darkened as he began to ponder, lowering his head.
