Chapter 30 How to Become a God?

After sending his answer, Suye heard the collective sighs of relief from the class.

    "Three!"

Niedern's voice rang out, and the dust settled.

"Very good, everyone has completed it. I'm satisfied."

Everyone immediately realized that Teacher Niedern had deliberately delayed for a bit to ensure every student had finished their answers. They understood that the earlier scare was just to force them to write down their initial thoughts.

A few students fell into deep thought.

Niedern said, "I have received your answers. Now, each group should sit in a circle and share your answers. Start discussing."

Upon hearing this, Suye stood up, carrying his chair, and sat with the other six members of his group.

The six of them looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

Palos raised her magic book, showing the page to everyone else. It only had one word written on it.

    Method.

Suye glanced at Palos in surprise, not expecting that her idea was almost identical to his own.

Then, a hint of sympathy flashed in Suye's eyes, realizing that Palos truly couldn't speak.

Jimmy laughed and said, "I'll go first. My answer is 'go around.' I don't know why I had this thought, but anyway, I wouldn't dare climb Mount Olympus. If I ran into the gods, they might strike me with lightning. That would be too tragic. What about you guys? Luo Long, what did you write?"

Luo Long put down his spear and sword, a gesture that made Suye and the others roll their eyes inwardly.

"I wrote 'leave,'" he said, showing his magic book to everyone.

Holt also took out his magic book and said, "I wrote 'climb.' I didn't think much about it; since it's Dean Plato's words, I just followed them."

    "Brave!" Jimmy exclaimed.

Suye said, "I wrote 'find a way to climb.'" He then held up his magic book.

    Palos' azure eyes flickered.

The others looked at Suye, then at Palos.

Jimmy's eyes darted, and he chuckled, saying, "Rick, what about you?"

Rick, looking slightly pale, reluctantly held up his magic book. "I was only thinking about my sister, so I wrote that."

It read, "What about my sister?"

"Haha, knew you would," Jimmy laughed. "Albert, what about you?"

The skinny Albert looked embarrassed. "Can I not say?"

"What do you think?" Jimmy said impatiently.

Albert reluctantly lifted his bony arm to show his magic book, which read "escape."

Jimmy couldn't help bursting into laughter, his freckles nearly jumping off his nose.

Albert's sleeve slipped, revealing multiple scars on his arm. But in the next instant, he pulled his sleeve back up, blushing and lowering his head, refusing to speak further.

Jimmy coughed to cover his embarrassment and said, "Our seven answers are 'method,' 'leave,' 'go around,' 'find a way to climb,' 'climb,' 'what about my sister,' and 'escape.' Alright, so... what do we discuss now?"

The seven of them looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

The same was true for the other groups; no one seemed to know what to discuss.

The classroom fell into an awkward silence.

Suye ignored the others and quietly pondered, his heart racing as he delved deeper into his thoughts. Realizing he might be overthinking things, he stopped.

Seeing no one speaking, Jimmy said, "I've been thinking for a while. This must be a test by the teacher using Dean Plato's name to see how we handle difficulties."

"It seems so," Suye interjected unexpectedly.

Jimmy glanced at Suye happily and began analyzing seriously, "Let me explain my view. Everyone knows that Mount Olympus is in the northwest of Greece, shrouded in clouds year-round, connecting to Zeus's temple in the divine realm. The temple of the god king Zeus is also the pantheon of all Greek gods. The danger there is obvious. Understanding this makes the problem simpler."

Jimmy smiled, scanning everyone confidently, "When faced with difficulties, Suye and Palos want to find a 'method,' focusing solely on solving the problem without considering whether it can be solved. The brave Holt just charges ahead, not thinking at all. Rick is more concerned about his sister, completely ignoring the difficulty itself. Albert is even more straightforward, choosing to run away without thinking. As for Luo Long and me, we assess the difficulty and make the wisest move without risking our lives."

Everyone smiled slightly, seemingly agreeing with Jimmy's analysis.

However, Suye and Palos' gazes suddenly met and quickly parted.

Both saw a hint of calmness in each other's eyes, a calmness that suggested knowing the other was wrong but not needing to explain.

"You guys, what do you think, Holt?" Jimmy asked with a smile.

Holt scratched his head and said, "I think I was indeed rash. Now, I agree with what Suye and Palos said."

"Oh? Suye, what do you think? You've changed a lot this summer," Jimmy said with a grin.

"I think what you said is quite good," Suye replied with a smile.

"Do you still stand by your answer?" Jimmy asked.

    "Of course," Suye said.

"Then, could you explain why you didn't consider whether the difficulty could be solved, but only focused on the method?" Jimmy's tone was very gentle.

Suye smiled slightly, not expecting Jimmy's level to be so high, actually trying to persuade people through questioning, clearly learning from Socrates, though the technique was a bit crude.

Still, since the question was asked, Suye no longer held back and said, "Before we discuss this matter, we must first pose a question: Is climbing Mount Olympus truly our goal?"

The moment Suye asked this, Niedern, who had been listening to other groups, suddenly turned his head to look at Suye.

Jimmy was taken aback and for a moment did not know how to respond; the others also fell into deep thought.

Luo Long, holding his spear, said, "If in this question, Mount Olympus is not our goal, there is no need to discuss it. For now, we can only assume that climbing Mount Olympus is the goal of each one of us."

"Right, it should be like that." Jimmy then looked at Suye.

Suye smiled and said, "If, I mean if, climbing Mount Olympus is my goal, then of course I would first find a way to climb it."

"Do you not consider the gods of Mount Olympus?" Jimmy asked.

"I do, I would consider ways to avoid them or find ways to get their permission to climb," Suye said as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

    "You..." Jimmy was stunned again.

Albert couldn't help but say, "But the gods will never allow you to climb there; only gods can set foot there."

Suye nodded and smiled, "You see, Albert has proposed a method of climbing: becoming a god."

Five out of the six classmates stared at Suye with wide eyes, as if looking at a madman or a fool.

Palos also stared at Suye, but her eyes sparkled with a light completely different from the others.

Albert shrank his neck and said, "I think we should change the topic. I'm afraid the King of Gods might throw his thunderbolt and destroy the entire school."

Apart from Palos and Suye, the other five nodded in agreement.

"Or maybe all of Athens," Albert added.

At this moment, Teacher Niedern walked over and asked, "How does one become a god?"

The five classmates felt their minds turn into a pot of vegetable soup, why was Teacher Niedern joining in the madness?
