    Chapter 49: Win-Win

Suye hurriedly checked the time in his magic book, a smile spreading across his face. It was six in the morning.

Suye happily washed up and then basked in the sunlight in the courtyard to promote serotonin secretion. Taking advantage of his high energy, he meditated deeply for ten minutes, then quickly reviewed yesterday’s notes before stepping out of his home.

As he walked, he looked around but unfortunately didn’t see any breakfast or Uncle Figo.

Suye found a breakfast shop and had a quick bite before heading to school.

Arriving at Plato's Academy, some classmates were just entering.

Suye let out a sigh of relief.

On the third day of school, Suye finally walked into class along the main marble path like a true student.

His feet no longer carried the scent of soil and grass.

There were only a dozen people in the classroom. Upon closer inspection, Suye thought, "Are my classmates this diligent?"

At the fifth table, four people sat engrossed in their books.

Palos, Holt, Rick, and Luo Long were all reading intently.

    Jimmy and Albert weren’t there.

Looking at these four, Suye’s face broke into a faint smile.

Approaching his desk, Suye said, “Good morning.”

The four turned their heads in unison, looking at Suye with incredulous eyes.

“How did you get here?” Holt couldn’t help exclaiming.

Rick asked, “Suye, are you okay? We all guessed you’d be late today.”

Suye smiled, “A student who loves learning like me would never be late. Starting from today, I’ll come early and leave late, and study hard.”

“Who would believe that,” Rick said with a laugh, then continued reading.

Holt, with an excited expression, lowered his voice, “Thank you so much. The map memory technique you taught me yesterday is really effective! I’ve heard about the different inner visualization forms of mages from four nations before, but it always seemed chaotic. Now, whenever I think about it, that map pops into my head, and I can clearly remember the four inner visualization forms and the four magic tools. There’s no way I’ll make mistakes on the exam.”

    Suye smiled, “Glad it helped.”

In his mind, Suye thought, "That map involves image memory techniques with all the shapes and colors. The giant hourglass and Magic Tower belong to exaggerated memory techniques. Dynamic images involve dynamic memory techniques. Putting them together aligns with the human memory chunking principle, combining four methods into one. It took me a long time to master, so of course, it works."

Rick and Luo Long seemed completely oblivious to the conversation, but Palos listened attentively.

Palos thought, "I overheard their conversation yesterday too. I didn’t expect even Holt to find it useful. I’ll jot this down first. If they continue using this method and their grades improve, I’ll start using it too."

Palos carefully noted it in her magic book.

Suye sat down and quickly reviewed yesterday’s notes again. Then he said to Holt, “I found a few particularly important points yesterday. Do you want to hear them?”

Holt eagerly replied, “Yes, I do! You’re so kind!”

Suye chose a few key magic knowledge points he deemed most important and began explaining.

Holt listened intently, occasionally asking questions that stumped Suye.

Suye had to think through Holt’s questions. If he found an answer, he responded; if not, he noted it down for future consideration or to ask a teacher.

Not being able to answer a question meant he didn’t fully understand the related knowledge.

Everyone else in the class was busy with their own tasks. A few students who performed well but weren’t top-ranked pointed and laughed at Suye and Holt, mocking them as fools.

Only Palos silently jotted down parts of their conversation and continued studying.

More people arrived, and the classroom grew noisy. Suye and Holt moved to the window at the back of the room, one teaching and the other listening.

After a while, Suye realized that his behavior conflicted with his principles.

As long as someone wasn’t confirmed as an enemy and there was potential for cooperation, he should use a win-win mindset to guide his actions.

Moreover, Holt was a good friend who had helped him.

Suye couldn’t directly reveal the Feynman technique yet, so he repeatedly suggested that Holt also teach something, but Holt refused, believing he couldn’t explain anything.

Suye tried several times, but Holt wouldn’t budge. He decided to wait until his grades improved before revealing the Feynman technique, hoping to convince Holt then.

However, adhering to the win-win mindset, Suye ensured Holt didn’t lose out. He not only answered Holt’s questions but also taught him small methods and techniques, such as various memory techniques. Suye deliberately used them multiple times. Once Holt trusted the method, he would extract it and have Holt practice it specifically.

In reality, the Feynman technique primarily targets individual learning by teaching an imaginary person, but teaching a real person is more effective.

Soon, the bell for the first class rang, and both Suye and Holt felt a bit reluctant to stop.

Holt excitedly said, “Suye, how about you keep teaching me like this? I feel like I’m learning so much. It’s amazing!”

Suye thought for a moment and honestly replied, “This is a learning method I’m exploring. Teaching you this way improves my learning efficiency. But I don’t want to keep doing this because I fear you might feel used after a while.”

Holt, upon hearing this, became even happier, “I was feeling embarrassed and guilty, thinking I was wasting your time! Since you say it’s for your own learning and I feel it’s for mine, let’s keep doing this. It’s perfect! From now on, if anyone calls you dumb, I’ll stand up for you! If I can’t handle it, I’ll get my classmates involved! If they can’t handle it, we’ll get the teachers. Two of my classmates are already teachers here!”

Holt spoke animatedly, acting like a big brother protecting a little brother.

Suye couldn’t help but laugh, realizing that the fifth table indeed had only himself and Rick as the normal ones.

The first class of the morning was still Niedern’s class, which covered essential topics and had longer sessions.

After a while, Niedern suddenly paused and looked towards the fourth table.

"Who knows why Hutton didn't come?"

    Many classmates shook their heads.

Suye then noticed that a desk at the front was empty.

    Suye also shook his head.

"Hmm, continue with the lecture." Niedern's tone was clearly different from before.

Many classmates turned to look at Suye, wearing mysterious smiles.

Today, Suye came, but Hutton didn't.

For three consecutive days since the start of school, someone has been late. It's no wonder Niedern is angry.

Near the end of class, heavy footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door.

Everyone put down their magic books and looked toward the door.

They saw a youth standing there, covered in blood. Although his face seemed freshly washed, his nose was crooked, his upper lip split, and he had lost four or five teeth, leaving his mouth dark. His face was bruised and swollen like a pig's head, tears welling in his eyes, and tear streaks still visible on his cheeks.

All the classmates looked bewildered. Who is this? Why is he at our classroom door?

A few seconds later, many people realized.

    Isn't this Hutton!
