Chapter 50: Understanding
byChapter 50: Understanding
Why is Hutton in such a state?
Was he retaliated against by someone?
Before everyone could finish guessing, they saw Hutton kneel down before Suye inside the classroom, his voice trembling as he loudly admitted his mistake.
"Suye, I was wrong. I won't bully anyone anymore... sob... I won't bully anyone anymore! It's all my fault. I'm despicable, I'm low, I can't tell friends from enemies..."
The class erupted into chaos.
Everyone turned to look at Suye, who was sitting at the fifth table at the back.
All eyes were on him, as if Suye had become the principal attending a lecture.
This time, there was no hint of amusement in anyone's eyes.
Several classmates who had been secretly laughing that morning now had a trace of fear on their faces.
Although Hutton's family status isn't high, they are considered middle-class in Plato's Academy. With their generosity and love for making friends, they belong to the group just below the nobles.
Even if Suye really retaliated, Hutton would surely find a way to take revenge. Moreover, many classmates had sensed that Suye was going to be in trouble the day before yesterday.
In the end, nothing happened to Suye, but Hutton ended up kneeling.
They realized they had underestimated Suye.
In this class, perhaps only a few noble students like Luo Long could force Hutton into such a state.
Holt turned to look at Suye, stunned.
Albert was equally shocked, unable to believe what he was seeing.
Jimmy looked surprised.
Rick smiled happily, giving Suye an encouraging nod.
Luo Long, who had always looked down on Suye, actually took a serious look at him for the first time, treating a non-noble student from the class with genuine respect.
Previously, even Rick didn't bother to look closely at Suye.
Niedern gave Suye a meaningful glance, signaling him to handle the situation properly.
Suye then approached Hutton with a smile.
At the sight of Suye's smile, Hutton's body trembled violently, almost losing control.
Suye had smiled like that yesterday too.
Palos watched Suye's back, deep in thought.
Suye walked up to Hutton and said with a smile, "What's wrong with you, Hutton? Did your dad beat you up?"
Hutton quickly wiped away his tears and snot, nodding vigorously. "Yes, yes, because I bullied a classmate, my dad gave me a good beating!"
"Get up. We're all classmates; it's not dignified to be like this," Suye said.
"Okay, okay..." Hutton tried to get up but fell back down halfway through.
He tried several times but couldn't stand up.
Seeing this, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. This wasn't because Hutton didn't want to stand up; he was so terrified by Suye that his legs were shaking uncontrollably.
Could Suye be a devil to scare someone this much?
"You see how you are, sigh..."
Suye bent down and lifted Hutton up.
Hutton's feet slipped, and his legs continued to shake uncontrollably.
Suye patted Hutton's shoulder and slowly led him towards the fourth table, saying, "We're all classmates. Some things can be resolved by talking. If someone tries to harm others, they will face consequences. Look at you, you seem to have faced consequences. From now on, be kind to your classmates. Everyone is a partner, not an enemy. Do you understand?"
"I understand! I understand! Everyone is a partner, not an enemy." Hutton nodded vigorously.
"Good to hear." Suye smiled, helping Hutton to his seat and then patted his shoulder before returning to the fifth table.
As Suye sat down, everyone continued to stare at him.
Holt couldn't help but whisper, "What did you do?"
"Just met his dad and had a drink with him."
Seeing Suye wasn't elaborating, Holt didn't press further, his mind full of questions.
"Well done!" Rick said.
Hearing Rick's praise, Suye remembered that last year, when Pelus was around, Rick occasionally helped him, showing a sense of justice. But even if Rick excelled academically, he was still just an ordinary Greek citizen and couldn't stop Hutton and his ilk.
Jimmy kept looking at Suye suspiciously, trying to guess what had happened.
The bell rang.
"Suye, come with me." Niedern said, heading towards the door.
Suye sighed, carrying his magic book out.
I really am unlucky. I get called out for being late, and I still get called out when I’m not late.
But today is different from yesterday.
No one laughed at Suye.
Suye followed Niedern to the same spot as yesterday.
"Teacher, I know I'm a magic apprentice now, but I still have lessons in the morning!" Suye didn’t expect Niedern to give him special training, though he wasn’t against it, couldn’t they change the timing?
Niedern didn’t answer Suye but asked, "What did you do to Hutton?"
Suye shrugged and said, "Not much. His father invited me and him to dinner yesterday. When his father found out I became a magic apprentice, he beat him up. You should have seen the scene; it was quite a show."
Niedern stared at Suye for a while and said, "Magic apprentices are like this. I can only imagine what it would be like if you became a legend. Anyway, today we have two things: continue practicing the magic rope and teach you some combat techniques. Don’t look so reluctant. Do you know how much my hour of magic instruction costs? Two gold eagles! Buck up; you might need this soon."
"Teacher, I feel like you’re trying to harm me," Suye said helplessly.
"Your intuition is accurate," Niedern replied.
Suye looked up at the sky. Are all the teachers at Plato’s Academy this inhumane?
"Last time it was summoning an apprentice servant. This time, I’ll use the spell to summon a black iron servant."
After saying that, Niedern cast the spell in front of Suye.
A blue magic array appeared on the ground, and a white giant wolf, nearly two meters long, emerged from the light. Its shoulder height reached Suye’s chest, with bristling fur and protruding fangs, exuding a menacing presence.
A chilling cold spread instantly, dropping the temperature within thirty meters to below freezing.
The white wolf’s eyes were filled with blood-red, brimming with murderous intent.
This wolf was larger than a lion, almost like a small elephant.
"Teacher, isn’t this a silver servant? Can we try another one?" Suye shivered, this being his first close encounter with a monster. He had only seen them from afar in Lion Harbor before.
"I forgot to mention, I specialize in ice magic. This ice wolf, influenced by me, is a black iron monster but can match a weaker bronze monster," Niedern explained.
Suye carefully observed the ice wolf. He expected to be terrified upon encountering such a fierce monster for the first time, but instead, he felt excited rather than scared.
Rather than passively enduring the world’s oppression, it’s better to actively challenge everything new.
The scene of fighting three leopards yesterday flashed through his mind, followed by the review of the battle.
In Suye’s eyes, this ice wolf was no longer a formidable monster but a collection of elements: intimidation, aura, pounce, strike, bite, gnaw, ambush, and sneak attack.
With the right methods, he even felt that the ice wolf held no secrets from him.
