Chapter 32 Unique
byThe college was particularly lively the next day, with teams holding signs or setting up tables all over Rose Square to recruit members.
Such teams didn't exist before. Once everyone realized they could form their own squads, especially with their own team names, they got excited. Suddenly, they found Principal Karida's idea wasn't so bad after all.
"Hey, students! Come take a look! We're the Supreme Saints Squad! We already have five members and just need one more gunner! We're looking for second-year students and above with an A+ rating!"
"Don't miss out! We're the Meteor Wizard Squad led by three big brothers from the Wizard Academy. We have three top-notch wizards, a third-year martial artist, a gunner, and an exorcist. Our team is fully equipped, and we can handle six dragging seven without pressure. We're now recruiting one financier! Only one financier needed! Beautiful ladies get a discount; interested parties come talk to me about pricing!"
"We're a group of five second-year students from the Martial Dao Courtyard. No flashy gimmicks—just looking for like-minded individuals willing to face the challenges of the academy together. We still have two spots open for those with a B+ rating or higher!"
Rose Square was bustling like a market, and this was only the first day of recruitment. The real powerhouses had already formed their teams, enjoying the chance to control their destinies.
Although Rose College had been somewhat dormant in recent years, it still had its share of talented individuals. Karida's delegation of authority gave them the opportunity to showcase their skills. Every genius has ambitions, and forming their own teams was a dream for every strong individual.
As for the noise and commotion from the weaker ones, it was merely a footnote on their path to success.
Various calls echoed throughout the square, mostly similar, but there was one voice that stood out even amidst the cacophony.
He wore the green suit he had rented last time, the bright pumpkin green hugging his plump figure. His round belly contrasted sharply with the Martial Dao Courtyard's uniform eight-pack abs, making him stand out.
Without a doubt, he was the most eye-catching person in the square—Fantasy!
"We have the most stylish guy from the Rune Academy, the heaviest hitter from the Martial Dao Courtyard, and the most sincere friendship. We are Old Wang's Squad! I'm Fantasy from Old Wang's Squad, sincerely inviting all stylish guys and beautiful ladies to join us!"
Wang Feng insisted on the outfit and wrote the lines himself. Whether exaggerated or not, the goal was to grab attention, ensuring that the old witch saw his efforts to respond to her call.
As for the team name, despite Wang Feng's strong opposition, they removed the exclamation mark. Team names shouldn't be too flashy.
"Clang, clang."
After Fantasy finished reciting the lines, Old Wang would bang the pot lid, producing a loud sound. It had to be loud enough and the actions big enough to attract the attention of the old witch and perhaps lure two Beastmen and even a naive newcomer.
To be honest, this tactic did attract many people's attention, but unfortunately, it only brought ridicule, not Beastmen.
"Hey, handsome juniors! I'm Fantasy, the deputy captain of Old Wang's Squad. See that guy over there? He's a genius rune master and a genius potion maker, highly regarded by Principal Karida and the head of the Rune Academy. He's definitely our college's beacon of hope and top brand, guaranteed to score high and easily carry a couple of newbies. And we don't charge a fee; it's pure love and dedication! So don't hesitate—joining Old Wang's Squad is your wisest choice!"
"We solemnly promise that there are no newbies we can't carry, only foolish birds who can't choose wisely! Success in life doesn't depend on how hard you work but on the choices you make. Choose us... Hey, don't go, let me finish talking!"
Despite Fantasy's best efforts, the two cute juniors quickly ran away.
"Where did this idiot come from?"
"With that body, does he have any self-awareness?"
"Is that Wang Feng from the Rune Academy?"
"Yes, but he's known as a spoiled brat. He started at the Institute of Potions but caused a big explosion, so he had to transfer to the Rune Academy. He probably has some connections."
"Damn, I hate people like that."
"He should just buy a spot and mix days instead of trying to form a team. Anyone who joins will regret it!"
"Stay away from them; you might get struck by lightning too."
Wang Feng's ears were better than Fantasy's. Someone mistook him, a fighter since childhood, for someone who got in through connections. ...But it was fine.
"Ah, let's pack up. Looks like our fame is a bit too high. Change tactics, let's take the initiative." Wang Feng said.
Fantasy felt a bit downcast, having heard some of the comments. "Should we give up?"
Wang Feng smiled faintly and patted Fantasy's shoulder. "Take a break. Leave it to the captain. I'll bring people over soon."
It was time to get serious. First, he needed to find the two Beastmen. But would they even think of forming a team? He had been banging pots in the square all morning without seeing them.
While searching, he also tried to hook a few others to fill the remaining slot. He observed their reactions, noticing their eagerness. This emotional vulnerability could be exploited, but once they heard his name, their surprise turned to fear.
Damn, was he really that famous?
"Wang Feng, Senior?" a surprised voice called out.
Old Wang was about to engage in a friendly chat when he realized it was Yin Fu. She looked genuinely pleased to see him. "Senior hasn't been to class for a few days."
"Been quite busy lately," Old Wang chuckled, then asked, "Anything from Old Tan?"
"Old Tan? Senior sure knows how to nickname people," Yin Fu giggled. "No, he knows you're studying on your own and encourages us to keep up with you."
She noticed the sign in Wang Feng's hand. "Oh, Senior is forming a team? We don't need to participate in the assessment from the Rune Academy."
Seeing Yin Fu's curious and adorable expression, Wang Feng couldn't help but ruffle her hair. "We must be strict with ourselves. All-round development in virtue, intelligence, martial arts, and labor is essential. We can't relax just because the rules are lax. That won't lead to progress."
Fantasy was stunned and slapped his hand away, but Old Wang had already pulled back.
