Chapter 238 Drinking Exercise
byIn the vast ocean, the Lower Five Seas are interconnected, and the closest to the Dragon Abyss Sea is the Abyssal Sea.
The original course of the Half-Orc was to skirt around the international waters and head for the Abyssal Sea, where a big deal awaited. Encountering the Starfish was purely coincidental.
However, this journey has been quite fruitful, with two ships fully loaded with soul crystal ore and various spoils that need to be dealt with. Transporting such cargo over long distances consumes energy and slows down the fleet. Moreover, they had to deliver Wang Feng and Karida, so they decided to continue heading towards the Croati Archipelago.
But they wouldn't take the international waters anymore; instead, they entered what was known as the No-Sail Zone. It was rumored that these waters were infested with sea monsters, and ordinary fleets would never dare to pass through here. But the Half-Orc Pirate Gang dared, for this was their bread and butter. Their nautical charts were written in blood by countless pirates, far more detailed than the common charts available on the market. Besides, even if they did encounter sea monsters, it wasn't a problem. The Lower Five Seas weren't as deep as the Upper Five Seas, and the sea monsters here were only at the Ghost level. Sessius himself was a Ghost-level expert, and the fleet also kept a Ghost-level sea monster soul beast. They could tangle with them and retreat without any issues.
It took them the whole morning to sort out the cargo and salvage the sunken ship's resources. By now, the fully loaded fleet had been sailing for half a day, and it was already evening.
Though the sky wasn't dark yet, the deck was already brightly lit. Dozens of copper basins on both sides were filled with burning charcoal, and a long banquet table was set up in the center of the deck. Old Wang, Karida, and Sessius sat in the middle, surrounded by various pirate leaders. There were lively performances as well.
There were no professional dancers or singers in the pirate fleet; those performing were agile pirates, juggling knives, swallowing fire, spitting flames, or wrestling. Many ordinary pirates without specific roles sat around, eating meat and drinking from large bowls, cheering and encouraging their fellow pirates who were performing or wrestling.
Various shouts, cheers, and drinking games, mixed with coarse language and noisy curses, created a unique male landscape at sea. The entire ship was bustling with noise and excitement.
Old Wang was initially worried that Brother Da might find the pirates too crude, especially with the frequent cursing. However, Brother Da remained remarkably calm.
Sessius enjoyed drinking orcish wine, particularly the thirty-year-old Highland Frenzy. Unfortunately, there wasn't much left, so he brought out the last three bottles. He himself had a high tolerance, but Wang Feng and Karida surprisingly matched him drink for drink. The three bottles of thirty-year-old Frenzy were finished in no time, and not one of them showed any signs of intoxication.
"Frenzy is best when it's thirty years old," Sessius said with a smile, bringing out a box of regular Highland Frenzy. "I originally had three boxes, but I couldn't resist and drank most of it during the first half of our voyage. If I had known we'd meet such good brothers, I would have saved them all for you! Now, I can only offer this to quench your thirst. Regular Frenzy is more fiery, but I wonder if Sister-in-law will enjoy it."
"There's nothing I can't get used to," Karida smiled. "Fiery liquor has its own unique flavor. In fact, the superiority of thirty-year-old Frenzy isn't just about its smoothness. Regular Frenzy is fiery on the surface, while thirty-year-old Frenzy is fiery in the blood. In comparison, the aftertaste of regular Frenzy is much milder."
Sessius's eyes lit up. Though he didn't reveal Karida's identity, his respect for the Death Rose, who was spoken of highly among many orcs, grew even more. "Sister-in-law truly understands wine!"
Old Wang laughed heartily. "Wait here for a moment, I'll be right back!"
Sessius thought he was going to the restroom and smiled knowingly, remembering the 'special skill' Wang Feng had mentioned earlier.
Old Wang indeed returned soon, holding a bottle of potion. This was the Eagle Eye potion prepared for the sea warriors on Lakfor's ship, originally meant to enhance combat power. Old Wang had mixed some of it with alcohol during his days on the ship, leaving quite a bit behind, which Sessius had confiscated. However, in the afternoon, he let Wang Feng choose from the spoils, and it ended up back in Old Wang’s hands.
This mixture was already well-blended and poured into a large bottle, making it unrecognizable to others. Old Wang grabbed a few bottles of Mad Warrior and poured them into a large basin, then added about half a bottle of the Eagle Eye mixture, stirred it slightly, and said smugly, "Try this now!"
Sessius and Karida each took a cup. Both were connoisseurs of wine. They saw Wang Feng pour in ordinary Mad Warrior, but after mixing in a bit of that substance, it tasted like a thirty-year-old vintage, even with an extra layer of refinement, surpassing the regular thirty-year-old Mad Warrior in clarity.
Amidst the lively atmosphere, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Sessius arranged a separate cabin for the two, insisting it be a completely open single room where one could see through from one side to the other. There could only be one bed, spacious enough for one person to sleep comfortably, or just right for two to squeeze in.
Sessius personally escorted them to their room, pretending to be tipsy as he shouted at the pirates near the door, "Keep your eyes sharp, this is my brother and sister-in-law’s room. All of you, get lost! Anyone who dares to lurk within ten meters, I’ll skin him alive!"
He pushed them into the room enthusiastically, saying, "If you didn’t drink enough today, we can continue tomorrow! Brother, sister-in-law, rest early. Don’t worry about anything outside; I’ve already given the order to ensure no one will eavesdrop!"
"Oh, big brother, such a small matter, there’s no need to give special instructions!" Old Wang chuckled. "We’re not young anymore, even if we do something..."
"Good night."
Bang.
Karida shut the door directly, isolating Sessius outside.
Old Wang hadn’t finished his sentence: "Even if we do something..."
His voice trailed off, and the smile on his face felt awkward.
Karida turned around, looking at him coolly. "What did you mean by ‘even if we do something’?"
Both had drunk quite a bit that evening. Even Karida, who could drink a thousand cups without falling, now had a rosy flush on her beautiful face, making her look alluring and captivating.
Old Wang was also feeling the effects of the alcohol, almost losing his head, but just as the buzz reached his forehead, the cold tip of a sword pressed against his groin.
Karida said with a half-smile, "Though I wouldn't kill you, I think performing a little surgery might ensure your longevity even more."
"Ha..." Old Wang sobered up instantly, let out a forced laugh, and started doing radio calisthenics, waving his hands and kicking his legs. Damn, he was glad he hadn't forgotten this. As he exercised, he said, "Brother Karida, it's exercise! Post-meal exercise! Life lies in movement; life goes on, and so does the movement! Brother Karida, I get it, this is the secret to my long life!"
...
Of course, Old Wang was destined to sleep on the floor. Karida tossed him a pillow, and with only one blanket available, Old Wang had to cover himself with his own clothes.
That night was somewhat peculiar. Outside, the pirates were celebrating noisily all night long, while inside the cabin, there was a tranquil fragrance of orchids.
Sessius had put some effort into it, managing to find several pots of musk orchids on the ship, clearly from Captain Rackford's collection. The scent of the orchids was intoxicating, making one feel dizzy and amorous, though they were thrown out shortly after entering the room. Still, the lingering fragrance filled the room, not quite aphrodisiac but enough to stir the heart, adding a unique flavor to the atmosphere.
Karida couldn't sleep. After a moment of silence in the cabin, she knew Wang Feng was still awake and suddenly asked, "Wang Feng, how exactly did you con Sessius?"
"Brother Karida, you make it sound so bad," Old Wang said with a grin. "Twenty million, you know. I, Wang Feng, live by righteousness. Sessius is a generous and heroic man. He took my money and admired my integrity, so we hit it off right away..."
