Chapter 134: Another 2 catties of milk
byWu Di found a spot and sat down with everyone. Immediately, a bunny girl approached with a tray, offering water and a drink menu. Fantasi eagerly grabbed a menu, determined to order the most expensive items today. If he didn't, he wouldn't be Fantasi!
To be honest, apart from Fantasi and Mo Tong who genuinely wanted to drink, Nuoyu and Wu Di were initially reluctant. They felt somewhat awkward sitting on the sofa, but after gulping down a few large glasses of cold beer and enjoying some spicy snacks, the atmosphere gradually changed.
Old Wang waved his hand, saying, "Life is short; we must enjoy it while we can. After all, we've had a good run in this world. These guys around me are like brothers. If I ever leave, I might even miss them a bit: 'Today is a men's night out. Drinking is not mandatory; just have fun and drink as much as you can.'"
"Can't drink? Then why come here?" Mo Tong glared, having already downed two glasses of beer. He had completely forgotten how he had previously criticized the beastmen's brew: "Wang Feng, I can't stand your stinginess! Are you too cheap or can't handle your liquor? You invited us here, so you better drink! And none of you can back out!"
"Junior brother, my tolerance is limited," Old Wang said with a mix of amusement and seriousness: "You need to go easy on your senior."
"We Mahoraga never bully anyone, but we don't back down either!" Mo Tong slapped his chest proudly: "One cup each, no backing out! Whoever backs out is a dog!"
Mo Tong knew that beastmen's alcohol was different from the fruit wine of the Eight Tribes, but so what? Drinking was about who was stronger, and the last one standing would be the winner!
How could someone like Wang Feng, who always looked sickly, possibly match him?
Mo Tong's eyes gleamed with confidence and superiority.
Even Old Wang couldn't help but laugh, saying, "Alright, junior brother, I'll do my best!"
It turned out both of them had underestimated each other's drinking capacity. Old Wang could really hold his liquor, and Mo Tong could take a lot.
After the initial discomfort with the strong beastmen's alcohol, they kept pouring one glass after another, their eyes wide open. When they got dizzy, they slapped themselves awake. Old Wang managed to keep up with Mo Tong, drinking nearly two pounds of Highland Wild Warrior without falling over.
Sigh, he was a man with strong principles and kindness.
Young people easily get caught up in the atmosphere. The wild music, sexy dancers, and fiery beer and snacks all contributed to the excitement.
More importantly, there was the respect from the beastmen.
Everyone noticed that the bar patrons showed great respect for Old Wang. His orders always arrived first, and passing beastmen smiled and greeted him. Occasionally, strangers would come over to toast him.
Fantasi marveled at this, and Old Wang intentionally introduced him to those who came to toast. Just like Tai Kun sending a messenger to Rose instead of going himself, Old Wang couldn't personally handle certain business due to Kebapi. He needed someone trustworthy, and Fantasi was the perfect choice. Apart from being clueless around Rachel, Fantasi was reliable, and introducing him to more beastmen friends was beneficial.
Honestly, Old Wang didn't know where his reputation among the beastmen came from. If it was because of Kela and Wu Di, these people clearly didn't recognize Wu Di. He had asked Tai Kun, but even with their current relationship, Tai Kun only vaguely said he'd know when the time was right.
Old Wang wasn't one to dwell on it. If others showed him respect, he returned it tenfold. Two more beastmen came to toast, and Old Wang stood on the sofa, raising his glass high: "To all our beastmen brothers!"
The beastmen weren't fools, and Wang Feng's unreserved camaraderie, whether genuine or not, easily won their favor. The bar's atmosphere was electric. Even Mo Tong, who was barely coherent, and Nuoyu and Wu Di, who had started by sipping their drinks, raised their glasses: "Cheers!"
They drank until late into the night, and even Old Wang was a bit tipsy when they left.
"Wang Feng, don't look down on me. I can still drink... drink another two pounds!" Mo Tong slurred, draping his arm over Fantasi's shoulder, staggering: "Fantasi! You're much better than Wang Feng. I tell you, anyone who can withstand my punches is a real man! I admire you. If Wang Feng ever bullies you, tell me, and I'll beat him up!"
Fantasi was touched, feeling that the beating he took earlier was worth it. It seemed he now had the support of the Eight Tribes: "Forget it, we're all good brothers. A half-dead beating is enough."
Old Wang ignored them, singing with Wu Di. The beastmen's tune was lively, and Wu Di, though a beastman, had never experienced such treatment before. He had been reserved, but after a few drinks, he let loose.
No matter where you are, nothing brings men closer than a good drink. If one round doesn't work, two will.
Seeing Wu Di more relaxed, Wang Feng felt he had done a good deed, boosting his karma and luck.
Nuoyu watched them, a warm smile on his face. He used to have prejudices against such groups of 'degenerate scions,' but tonight, he realized it wasn't so bad. No wonder his father often said that to become a hero, one must experience life and integrate into it. He probably came here often.
Captain has a strong sense of justice. He wants to integrate with the beastmen and bring them together, genuinely caring for others. That's what makes him a true hero, no wonder Karida trusts him.
Nuoyu's ears twitched slightly, and just as Old Wang was about to start singing, he stumbled, almost falling. In an instant, something gray whizzed past Wang Feng's handsome face.
A few faint 'dings' echoed as green-glowing poison needles embedded in the ground, emitting a puff of smoke.
"Murder! Protect the captain!" a scream pierced the night air.
Wang Feng had anticipated trouble, but he didn't expect them to seize every opportunity. A black figure lunged at him, a chilling voice calling out, "Yi Ge Zhu!"
Almost simultaneously, two more figures emerged from the corner, their icy daggers glinting in the moonlight. Old Wang was speechless. Three assassins? Why target a small fry like him?
Nuoyu reacted first, throwing his Unrivaled Ring, but without soul power, it was easily deflected. Undeterred, Nuoyu charged forward.
Old Wang was truly moved. This was true brotherhood. Regardless of ability, their courage was commendable. Mo Tong was the second to react, his soul power exploding, instantly sobering him up. Seeing the assassins, he charged with even more enthusiasm than when interacting with the bunny girls: "Take this axe!"
Wu Di also reacted quickly, trying to intercept the assassin on the right, but he was kicked away.
Wang Feng... had already fled, shouting for help. This time, it was hopeless. One assassin might be manageable, but three, especially without Hei Wu Kai, made it impossible.
The shorter assassin on the right kicked Wu Di aside but missed Fantasi, who dodged and tried to tackle the assassin. Drunk and fearless, Fantasi's courage soared.
On the other side, Nuoyu's opponent didn't want to tangle but was surprised when the Unrivaled Ring returned. Though his soul power was weak, he avoided direct confrontation, focusing on restraining Nuoyu.
Mo Tong engaged in a head-on clash but forgot he didn't have his battle axe. The assassin's dagger broke through his soul power defense, enraging Mo Tong. With a thunderous roar, he charged like a train, colliding with the assassin.
Mahoraga—Mountain-Crushing Shoulder!
A crunch echoed as the assassin's ribs shattered. Mo Tong's attack was deadly. Though he couldn't defeat Hei Wu Kai, he was among the best of the young Mahoraga generation. His usual antics didn't mean he lacked temper.
The assassin didn't expect such skill. The closest, smaller assassin was momentarily stunned and tackled by Fantasi, but quickly wriggled free, kicking Fantasi unconscious.
Taking advantage of the moment, Old Wang ran into an alley, shouting for help. The assassins chased him, but in the beastmen's district, no one would save him!
The assassins rushed in, but Old Wang stood at the street corner with a smug smile: "Hey, brother, why can't we just end this?"
"Die!" The assassin disappeared into the darkness, but a net descended, capturing her. Over a dozen beastmen emerged, led by Tai Kun, who struck the revealed assassin unconscious with a single blow.
"Brother Kun, go easy, don't kill her!" Old Wang wanted a live captive, not for negotiations, but to hand her over to Karida to dismantle the rogue group in Aurora City.
"Relax, she's just unconscious. She's an imperial agent; be careful." Tai Kun roughly pried open the assassin's jaw, extracting something like a false tooth: "Little brother, we can't get involved in human affairs. She's yours now."
Tai Kun signaled, and the beastmen cleaned up, giving her one last blow before leaving.
And on the other side, after Mo Tong finished off one, he immediately went to replace Nuoyu, thus preventing the flustered Nuoyu from being killed.
