Lin Xing had just opened his eyes when he saw a huge face looming close to his own.

"Really?" Caroline's voice carried joy as she hurried over to look at Lin Xing.

Lin Xing struggled to turn his head slightly, and his eyes lit up. What came into view was a youthful and beautiful face with golden hair and blue eyes. Although she still looked somewhat immature, she clearly had the makings of a beauty.

Seeing Caroline's happy expression, Lin Xing tried hard to sit up, but no matter how much he struggled, his body wouldn't move.

Lin Xing sighed to himself, his eyes dimming. These injuries were more severe than he had imagined. He had no idea how long his recovery would take this time. Whether he could fully recover was still a question!

"Hey, what are you grinning foolishly about? Miss is asking you a question." Lin Xing looked at Xiao Cui in confusion, then glanced at Caroline. "Oh, it's Miss Caroline. Hello, I'm Lone Star." Lin Xing hesitated for a moment but finally decided to give the name Lone Star.

"Lone Star? What a strange name." Caroline was momentarily taken aback.

"By the way," Lin Xing suddenly remembered something, "Miss Caroline, how long have I been unconscious?"

"You've been unconscious for over ten days. You haven't woken up at all, you had our miss worried sick!" Before Caroline could speak, Xiao Cui rushed to answer.

Embarrassed that her worry was revealed, Caroline felt a bit embarrassed. Blushing, she scolded, "Xiao Cui, don't talk nonsense. Young Master Lone Star, you've just woken up. You should rest properly! Xiao Cui, let's go. Don't disturb Young Master Lone Star's rest!" After saying this, she pulled Xiao Cui and walked out.

Lin Xing stared blankly at Caroline's back as she left, remaining in a daze long after she had disappeared.

After a long while, Lin Xing finally came to his senses. He gave a bitter chuckle and began to repair his meridians.

Xiao Cui glared at Lin Xing and said, "Our miss is busy today. She won't be coming." Lin Xing couldn't help but feel disappointed.

"What? Are you disappointed that our miss isn't coming? Eat your food!" Xiao Cui said irritably as she handed the food over.

Lin Xing gave an awkward smile, took the offered food, and said, "No." But it was clearly not what he truly felt. At the same time, he muttered to himself, "This Xiao Cui, why does she seem to have such a big problem with me? She's targeting me everywhere. When did I offend her?"
