    Chapter Two

    A few days later.

At dusk, the sun had already set behind the western mountains.

At the North Gate of Gary City,

a dust-covered young man hurried over, evidently eager to enter the city before nightfall.

The young man was Lin Xing. Ever since wiping out the Divine Wind Sect's branch hall in Claire City, Lin Xing had left and headed south.

Although the Divine Wind Sect's branch halls weren't spread across the entire continent, there were indeed quite a few. Even just between Claire City and the Beast Forest, there were several.

Therefore, Lin Xing chose to take them out. This way, he wouldn't delay his journey and could conveniently destroy some of their strongholds. Why not kill two birds with one stone?

It was already midnight. Lin Xing looked at the sky outside. The weather was perfect: a moonless night with a howling wind—ideal for killing. Lin Xing gently opened the inn window and shot out. With a light tap of his feet on the outer wall, his entire form vanished like a phantom.

Moving silently, Lin Xing sped across the rooftops towards the south. According to intelligence from *Jufu Lou*, one of the Divine Wind Sect's strongholds in Gary City was a gambling den! On the surface it was just that, but in reality, it was a secret base. Now, Lin Xing was going to raze it.

Moments later, Lin Xing arrived outside the gambling den. Although it was late at night, the inside was still bustling. Shouts, betting calls, and curses mixed together, filling the entire street.

Lin Xing stopped in a dark corner, observing everything. It looked no different from an ordinary gambling house, with fierce-looking thugs guarding the entrance.

Lin Xing frowned. If he acted now, it would alarm many people and might harm the innocent. But this place had to be destroyed.

*Rip.* Lin Xing tore off a piece of his clothing, tied it over his face, and strode towards the gambling den.

Seeing this murderous stranger approach, the two bruisers guarding the entrance threw out their arms to block him, shouting, "Stop! Who are you?"

Lin Xing halted, glanced at the two men, his eyes flashing. The men were startled, a chill running down their spines, and cold sweat instantly dripped from their foreheads.

"Get lost!" Lin Xing's cold shout made the two jump. Though they wanted to flee, their duty forbade it. They could only brace themselves and say with false bravado, "Kid, you're not welcome here. Get lost!"

Lin Xing grew impatient. His eyes flashed, and his hands struck like phantoms! *Thump, thump!* Two blows landed on the men's chests. Before they could react, they were sent flying, their vision went dark, and they fainted.

This time, Lin Xing didn't kill them. These two might not be sect members, and he had no wish to slaughter innocents.

The commotion had alerted some inside, but the gamblers thought it was just ordinary trouble and ignored it, continuing their games.

Stepping inside, he was met with a scene of noisy chaos. Lin Xing raised his voice and shouted, "Unrelated people, leave quickly! This young master is here for the gambling den. Those who don't want to die, get lost!"

"What are you? Get the hell away from me!" A gambler, probably having lost money and in a foul mood, spoke up irritably at the masked figure.

"You asked for it!" A flash in Lin Xing's eyes, his figure blurred, and the man was sent flying, landing far out in the street. Lin Xing, however, stood as if unmoved, scanning the crowd.

"I'll say it again, unrelated people should leave. Don't blame me if you get hurt!" Lin Xing emphasized.

"Who are you, sir?" a man asked, approaching. Lin Xing narrowed his eyes. A member of the Divine Wind Sect? The man's arm bore the sect's emblem.

"Here to claim lives!" Lin Xing instantly closed the distance, grabbing the man's neck. Before a look of shock could form, Lin Xing's left fist slammed into his chest. *Crack!* Accompanied by the sound of breaking bones, the man was hurled back, spewing blood in mid-air before crashing into the opposite wall and slumping to the ground!

Lin Xing swept his gaze across the room. Actions spoke louder than words. Seeing him kill without a word, the crowd panicked and stampeded for the exit, fearing they would be next.

Lin Xing settled into a chair, looking at the gambling den, bustling moments ago but now empty, waiting for the Divine Wind Sect to appear.

"Who are you, sir? Why cause trouble here? You should know our influence is vast," a person in charge said. As he finished, many people quickly emerged behind him.

"You are Angus, the Hall Master here, right?" Lin Xing immediately judged.

Hearing his identity revealed, Angus was taken aback, then sneered, "Since you know who I am, aren't you afraid of our sect's retaliation?"

"Retaliation?" Lin Xing laughed. "I dared to come, so I'm prepared. Could it be your intellect hasn't grasped that?" he mocked.

Angus was speechless, then sneered, "You're not just here to cause trouble, are you?"

"Correct!" Lin Xing stood up. "I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm here to kill." He took a step forward.

*Clang, clang!* Those nearby, seeing him advance, drew their weapons, watching nervously.

"Do you really not fear our Divine Wind Sect?" Angus asked, unwilling to yield.

"When has Lone Star ever feared anyone? Enough nonsense, Angus!" Lin Xing seemed impatient. Angus frowned, knowing this wouldn't end peacefully. He waved both hands. "Attack."

At his command, everyone rushed at Lin Xing. Lin Xing didn't take them seriously. This hall master was at most a Great Sword Master! He owed his position to wits, not strength. Lin Xing was confident he could finish them quickly.

Looking at the charging crowd, Lin Xing sneered, his hands weaving like phantoms, reaping lives like the Death God!

Suddenly, Lin Xing's feet moved. Like a ghost, he flashed past the surrounding people and appeared beside Angus. His palms materialized strangely and pressed lightly against Angus's chest.

Angus looked at Lin Xing in disbelief, then at the hand on his chest. He felt only a sharp, tearing pain within, as if his organs were being shredded. Then his vision darkened, and his consciousness drifted away.

*Thump!* With a push of his palm force, Lin Xing sent Angus's corpse flying.

From approach to kill, it was only a brief instant. Those around hadn't even reacted before Angus was slain.

"Hall Master!" everyone cried out in shock. Immediately, several charged at Lin Xing to attack.
