Chapter 89: Running Into an Old Acquaintance (Part 1)

Lin Xing's lips curled into a disdainful sneer as he swung his blade in a horizontal slash!

*Crunch, crunch!* Both the man and the wall behind him were sliced in two. Lin Xing began walking slowly toward the entrance, cutting down anyone in his path with each swing of his blade.

Witnessing Lin Xing's ferocity, the crowd dared not confront him any longer. With a whoosh, they parted to either side, clearing a path for him. Step by step, Lin Xing made his way toward the door.

"The Hall Master is dead! Killed by Lone Star!" A voice rang out, thick with grief, fury, and boundless sorrow.

A middle-aged man lifted Angus's corpse. This man was the Deputy Hall Master here, highly trusted and favored by Angus in life. Now that Angus had been slain by Lin Xing, he was utterly heartbroken! He had come to regard Angus as a father figure. With Lin Xing killing the person closest to him, he hated Lin Xing to the bone.

Lance's eyes were bloodshot, his face a mask of rage! He held Angus's body, gently passing his hands over Angus's eyes to close the lifeless stare.

"Hall Master, rest in peace! I will avenge you! I will definitely kill Lone Star to send him to his grave with you!" Lance said through gritted teeth, his eyes burning crimson. After speaking, he gently laid Angus down and spun around abruptly.

"Lone Star!" Lance roared, his eyes blazing red. Hearing the shout, Lin Xing halted his steps, turning to fix his gaze on Lance. "Want to kill me to avenge Angus?" Lin Xing sneered. "Come on then, if you're not afraid to die!" His gaze swept over everyone in the hall.

Even these hardened criminals couldn't help but take a step back under Lin Xing's gaze. They had seen how terrifying he was firsthand.

"Brothers! This is the man who killed our Hall Master! We must avenge him! He may be powerful, but we have numbers! We must kill him!" Lance shouted, advancing toward Lin Xing as he spoke.

Seeing that no one else seemed willing to step forward and fight, anger surged through Lance. These scum! Always bullying the weak and fearing the strong. Now that they saw Lin Xing's strength, they dared not act. But the Hall Master's death must be avenged! "Brothers! I promise, anyone who kills this Lone Star to avenge our Hall Master will receive one hundred Crystal Coins each! Furthermore, I will put in a good word with the higher-ups. Whoever kills him, I will recommend them for the vacant position in our hall!" Lance thought coldly, throwing out such tempting conditions. He knew this would make them willing to fight desperately.

Sure enough, lured by the reward of a hundred Crystal Coins and a promotion, they grew restless. Lin Xing let out another cold laugh, standing motionless. Originally, he had intended to just kill their Hall Master today, but if they were asking for death, he couldn't be blamed.

    Suddenly—

Lance swiftly drew his blade, roaring as he charged at Lin Xing. Seeing their Deputy Hall Master already attacking, the others rushed forward without hesitation, some even beginning to stealthily close in.

Witnessing this, Lin Xing sneered. Lightly tapping the ground with his toes, his entire body floated backward effortlessly, instantly reaching the doorway. A blade suddenly materialized in his hand.

Raising the blade with both hands, the vortex of Zhen Qi within Lin Xing's dantian spun at a blinding speed, circulating rapidly. With a thought from Lin Xing's consciousness, the Zhen Qi surged wildly through his arms and poured into the blade. Infused with this massive influx of energy, the blade in his hand once again manifested a pure-energy blade over ten feet long. The Energy Blade throbbed and pulsed, as if hungry for blood.

"Wind Break!" Lin Xing shouted coldly, bringing his blade down in a slash toward Lance and the others!

Wind Blade was the name Lin Xing had given to this technique. After accidentally unleashing it that one time, he had deliberately practiced it over the following days and could now control it freely.

With Lin Xing's cold shout, the entire energy-formed blade, carrying an invincible momentum, came crashing down ferociously! *Boom! Boom!* Several deafening explosions, like mountains collapsing and the earth splitting, shook the air. The building was directly cleaved apart by Lin Xing's strike, collapsing into rubble!

Amidst the billowing dust, piercing screams erupted as several figures were sent flying. Lin Xing took a few steps, emerging from the dust-covered area. He was quite fond of this 'Wind Break' technique; it was simply the perfect choice for group attacks.

Those who had managed to escape the area of Lin Xing's 'Wind Break' attack, seeing this harbinger of death still standing outside, let out panicked cries and fled without a trace.

Lin Xing had no intention of pursuing them. After all, he had already destroyed this hall. Consider them lucky! His figure flickered like a phantom, and he vanished from sight.

No sooner had Lin Xing left than a voice emerged from the darkness not far from where he had just stood. "Who is that man? Ruthless enough! And powerful enough! That 'Wind Break' technique of his... I doubt even I could escape unscathed." As the voice spoke, an old man appeared from the corner of a wall. He glanced in the direction Lin Xing had disappeared, then also melted back into the darkness and vanished.

The violent explosions had already attracted the attention of a large crowd. Government officials, some powerful individuals, and even curious onlookers swarmed over. What they found was the usually extravagant gambling den now reduced to ruins, with numerous bodies buried within!

Lin Xing hadn't actually killed that many people initially, but the final 'Wind Break' strike had taken out quite a few, including Lance! Its power was extraordinary.

Returning silently to his residence, Lin Xing changed his clothes and settled into meditation.

    Divine Wind Sect Headquarters!

"What? Another hall destroyed! Useless fools!" a middle-aged man roared.

"Chief Guardian, that man was too powerful. None of our brothers could withstand him!" a man kneeling below said, trembling with fear.

Suppressing his anger, the Chief Guardian waved for the man to leave. "Summon the Tenth Guardian!"

"Yes, Chief Guardian." The man withdrew.

"Lone Star?" the Chief Guardian sneered coldly. "You dare destroy several of our halls!"

"Chief Guardian!" The Tenth Guardian, Akas, entered and bowed to the Chief Guardian.

"Akas, you are aware that several of our halls have been destroyed by a mysterious man called Lone Star," the Chief Guardian said, his anger still simmering.

Akas nodded. "Based on our analysis, starting from Claire City and heading straight south toward the Southern Monster Forest, all our halls along that line have been wiped out. We predict this mysterious Lone Star's next target will be Oxi, the location of our branch hall. Take some members from the Shadow Division and go there to assist Old Nine. You must kill this mysterious Lone Star!" The Chief Guardian's eyes flashed with a sinister light.

"Yes, Chief Guardian!" Akas accepted the order. "Go prepare and depart immediately!" "Yes!" Akas withdrew.

"Shadow One!" the Chief Guardian called out to the seemingly empty room.

"Chief Guardian!" Suddenly, the space twisted unnaturally, and a figure shrouded in a black robe slowly materialized.

"Go quickly and investigate this mysterious man's identity and who leaked our information! Once you find out, I'll make them wish they were dead!" the Chief Guardian said venomously.

"Yes, Chief Guardian!" "Go!" The Chief Guardian waved his hand. The space behind the black-robed figure twisted once more, and the person slowly faded from sight.
