Chapter 155: Conflict
by 骑着蜗牛去旅行Chapter 155: Clash
Lin Xing and his three roommates quickly got to know each other.
"By the way, why don't we each say our ages to sort out our rankings?" Xu Feng suggested.
"Good idea," everyone immediately agreed.
"I'm fifteen, born in October," Xu Feng said.
"I'm also fifteen, born in September," Lin Xing glanced at Xu Feng and smiled.
"I'm fourteen," Liu Yi said. Xiwen was also fifteen, but a few days older than Xu Feng.
"So from now on, Lone Star will be our boss. I'll be the third-oldest, Xiwen will be the second-oldest, and as for Liu Yi, since you're the youngest, you'll be the fourth brother," Xu Feng said with a laugh. Liu Yi made a sour face and said, "What can I do? Fourth brother it is." Everyone agreed, and Lin Xing became the boss of Room 501. The four of them continued chatting in the dorm, and before they knew it, the sky began to darken.
Seeing that evening was approaching, Lin Xing said, "How about we go out for dinner now? Let's have a good meal to celebrate us meeting and sharing a dorm." "Great!" the other three said excitedly, since everyone was already hungry.
The fourth brother, Liu Yi, rolled his eyes and suddenly said to the boss, "Boss Lone Star, shouldn't you do the honors?" He then winked at Lin Xing.
Lin Xing laughed and scolded him, "As your boss, it's only right that I treat you all today."
"Listen, today let's eat Boss Lone Star out of house and home. What do you think?" Liu Yi said to the other two.
"Sounds good. We must find the fanciest restaurant and try to bankrupt Boss Lone Star all at once. I know one that's the poshest here. How about we go there?" Xu Feng said with a wink.
"Good, let's go there," Liu Yi was the first to agree. Xiwen hesitated for a moment but still agreed.
"Alright, let's go," Lin Xing gave a wave and was about to leave the dorm. Lin Xing didn't mind this at all. He was in a good mood and wanted to lean into it. The cost of a meal was nothing to him. Besides, Lin Xing had plenty of money now and had hardly spent any of it.
"Third brother, you're more familiar with the place. Lead the way," Lin Xing said.
So, the four from Room 501 headed toward the restaurant Xu Feng had mentioned.
The Half-Moon Academy was now divided into two main areas, as Lin Xing had just learned. These two areas were primarily the main academic area and the commercial district.
The academic area included both the classrooms and the living quarters, which was the main part of the Half-Moon Academy. The rest of the grounds comprised the commercial district, which consisted of restaurants, inns, and other businesses. In reality, the division between the two areas wasn't very clear.
After walking for a good while, Lin Xing and his crew finally arrived at the commercial district outside. Several bustling streets were filled with people coming and going, creating a lively atmosphere.
"Third brother, where is that restaurant you mentioned? We've walked so far, and I'm almost starving," Liu Yi said, clutching his stomach.
"It's on the street ahead. We'll be there soon." Sure enough, after Lin Xing turned the corner ahead, he saw a restaurant in front of them.
"Is this the one?" Liu Yi pointed at the lavishly decorated restaurant. Just from its exterior, it was clear that dining here wouldn't be cheap. But that was normal. The Half-Moon Academy had plenty of wealthy students, and many didn't mind spending money. So, this restaurant's business was always good. Plus, it was peak dining time, so the place was even more crowded.
"Yes, otherwise, which restaurant here do you think is more upscale than the Half-Moon Restaurant?" Xu Feng gave a sly smile and continued, "I'm just worried Boss Lone Star might actually go bankrupt." Lin Xing then looked at the plaque hanging in the restaurant: "Half-Moon Restaurant." "Is it run by the academy?" Lin Xing asked.
"I heard it is run by the academy, so it has the best location, the most expensive prices, and the most luxurious decorations. I wonder if Boss Lone Star will go bankrupt after eating here once?" Xu Feng said, looking at Lin Xing.
"Don't worry, I have plenty of money. Not just for one meal, but even if we came here every day, I wouldn't go bankrupt!" Lin Xing was already quite wealthy. If he sold the high-level monster cores he obtained in the Monster Forest from his ring, his wealth would be truly immeasurable.
"Today, you can all eat to your heart's content. Don't worry about saving money for me," Lin Xing said with a hearty laugh.
"I thought we'd go somewhere else for this meal," Liu Yi patted his chest and said.
"Let's go in," Lin Xing led the way inside.
The Half-Moon Restaurant had three floors, but the first and second floors were already packed. The four of them had no choice but to continue upstairs. Just as they reached the third floor, a group of people came down, likely having just finished their meal and paid the bill.
Liu Yi had sharp eyes and immediately spotted a few empty seats by the window. "There are some seats over there. Let's sit there."
So, Lin Xing and the others sat at the table near the window. From this spot, they could just see some of the scenery outside.
As soon as they sat down, a waiter came over. Lin Xing handed the menu to them and said, "Order whatever you like. Don't be shy."
The three of them really didn't hold back. They ordered their favorite dishes, and in no time, they had ordered over a dozen.
"Alright, that's enough for now. We can order more later if it's not enough. Waiter, please hurry. I'm starving," Liu Yi said after ordering the last dish and handing the menu back. "Sure thing, sirs. Please have some tea first. Wait a moment, and we'll serve the dishes as quickly as possible."
The Half-Moon Restaurant was indeed fast. Soon, the dishes started arriving. Liu Yi's eyes lit up as he looked at the food. He called out to the other three, picked up his chopsticks, and began devouring the food. Seeing Liu Yi like this, Lin Xing and the other two showed looks of disdain but also picked up their chopsticks and started eating.
"Don't look down on me. The food here is absolutely delicious," Liu Yi said while eating, his words slightly muffled.
The other three still wore expressions of disdain.
Just then, Lin Xing and the others heard a commotion of footsteps coming from the stairs. A group of people came up. A rather sinister-looking youth walked at the front, while the others behind him seemed to be flattering him.
After coming upstairs, the group looked around and then headed toward Lin Xing's table.
"Trouble's coming," Lin Xing thought to himself.
Two burly men came to Lin Xing's table and, without even looking, slammed a palm down on the table.
