"Xiao Hei, Hei Hu, let's go." Without another glance at the man on the ground, Lin Xing headed towards the city.

The Albert family ran the Albert Chamber of Commerce, which was not only the largest chamber of commerce in the Elba Duchy but also one of the famous chambers of commerce on the continent.

The current head of the Albert Chamber of Commerce was Caroline's father, Duke Albert.

In Elba City, Lin Xing just asked a few people and found out the location of Duke Albert's residence. He then followed the road to the front of Duke Albert's mansion.

This guard was much more polite than the previous man and didn't look down on people. Hearing Lin Xing's question, he replied, "Our young lady is not home at the moment. Do you have urgent business with her?" Hearing this, Lin Xing grew anxious and said, "I'm a friend of hers, and I was hoping to see her. Do you know when she will return?"

The guard said, "I don't know when the young lady will return."

"Then could I see the Duke? Could you please notify him for me? Say that Miss Caroline's friend, Lone Star, would like to meet him."

The guard looked uneasy. "I'm just a gate guard. I cannot leave my post without authorization."

"Kali, why aren't you standing guard properly? What are you doing?" A voice came from inside the gate.

The guard, Kali, turned around and said, "Steward, this man wants to see our young lady. After learning she is not here, he now requests to see the Duke."

Lin Xing turned to look at the newcomer. He saw a man, probably in his fifties or sixties, with a decent, though not exceptional, appearance. "Hello, I am Lone Star. I'd like to meet the Duke. Could you, Steward, please notify him for me?"

"What business do you have with our Duke? The master happens to be home today, so I will go and notify him. As for whether he will see you, be prepared."

"Thank you, Steward," Lin Xing said.

After waiting a while, the steward came out again, beaming at Lin Xing. "Lone Star, young brother, our Duke has agreed to meet with you. He has just finished with other guests and is now waiting in the drawing room. Follow me. I will take you there."

The steward glanced at Xiao Hei and Hei Hu, frowning slightly.

Upon entering, Lin Xing saw the drawing room. It was very large, with luxurious furnishings all around. A man stood inside with his hands clasped behind his back.

Hearing Lin Xing's footsteps, the man turned around. Only then did Lin Xing get a clear look. This man bore some resemblance to Caroline.

He appeared to be around forty years old, slightly overweight, with a short beard around his mouth. The whole person gave off a very amiable impression.

Seeing Lin Xing enter, a faint smile appeared on this man's plump face, making him seem very approachable. Lin Xing knew this was Duke Albert.

"Greetings, Duke," Lin Xing addressed Duke Albert.

Albert showed a warm smile and said, "You are Lone Star, correct? Please, have a seat."

Lin Xing didn't stand on ceremony and sat down as Albert did. Shortly after, someone brought a cup of tea.

"I heard you, young brother Lone Star, are looking for my daughter Caroline?" Albert asked kindly.
