Chapter 156: Long Aotian
by 骑着蜗牛去旅行Chapter 156: Long Aotian
"Bang!" With a loud crash, that big fellow slammed his palm onto the table. The tremendous force instantly overturned everything on the tabletop, scattering dishes and broth all over. Some of the hot liquid even splashed onto Liu Yi's face.
Liu Yi, who had been eating with his head down, was startled by the sudden noise, and then the scalding broth splashed onto his face, causing a burning pain.
Liu Yi immediately flew into a rage, shot to his feet and glared angrily at the two men. "What the hell are you two? What do you think you're doing?" Liu Yi was truly furious.
Lin Xing carefully examined the two men. They appeared to be students of Half-Moon Academy, just unusually large in stature.
"Fourth Brother, calm down. These two are nothing but dogs. There's no need to waste your breath on dogs." As he spoke, he shot a meaningful look toward the back.
Since Liu Yi's seat was facing away from the staircase, he hadn't seen the sinister-looking young man and his lackeys.
Following Lin Xing's gaze, Liu Yi turned around and immediately spotted the sinister-looking young man. A look of disdain promptly appeared on his face.
"You two bastards, you've ruined the dishes I was eating. I won't be able to calm my anger unless I teach you a lesson!" With that, Liu Yi prepared to take action.
Lin Xing quickly stopped Liu Yi as he was about to move, nodding at him and saying, "Don't act recklessly."
"Boss," Liu Yi looked at Lin Xing unhappily. "Why?" Liu Yi was a bit confused. Now that others were bullying them, should they just endure it?
Lin Xing shook his head and said, "If a dog bites you, do you bite it back?"
Hearing Lin Xing's words, the people around couldn't help but burst into laughter. Listening to Lin Xing's mockery, the two men's faces turned green and white with anger, their expressions twisting. They glared at Lin Xing, ready to attack.
"Hmph!" Lin Xing stopped Liu Yi and the other two, snorted coldly, and without even chanting a spell, two thick, arm-sized bolts of lightning suddenly appeared out of thin air, striking the two men directly. "Crackle, crackle!" Amidst the flashes of electricity, the two men let out miserable screams. Before they could even react, they were struck black and charred all over, their clothes torn to shreds by the lightning, and their hair standing on end. Seeing this, the crowd laughed even harder, especially Liu Yi, who pointed at their appearance and laughed so hard he clutched his stomach. "Oh my," he gasped, "I can't take it, I'm going to die laughing. Haha!"
The sinister-looking young man behind them saw this, a venomous glint flashing in his eyes. He stepped forward, followed closely by his swarm of lackeys.
"Hey, you lowly scum, when you see the Third Prince, why aren't you scurrying to give up your seats?" one of the lackeys said to Lin Xing and his companions.
Upon hearing "Third Prince," the surrounding people immediately stopped laughing. Some even settled their bills and left.
"Third Prince? What Third Prince? Never heard of him," Liu Yi said disdainfully.
"You must be this year's freshmen. Hurry up and leave before the Third Prince decides to punish you," another lackey said, throwing his weight around.
It was no wonder Lin Xing didn't know. The Third Prince was the third prince of the Ensi Empire and a person of influence within Half-Moon Academy. Although Half-Moon Academy was mostly composed of students, various factions existed. Members of these factions formed their own groups within the academy. In Half-Moon Academy, it was like a miniature version of the entire Kasla Continent.
The Third Prince's faction was primarily formed around the Ensi Empire and was considered a major force within Half-Moon Academy.
"Is the Third Prince so great?" Xu Feng glanced at the Third Prince and said. "Is this place owned by your family? Just because you come, we have to give up our seats? What kind of logic is that?" Xu Feng said indignantly. "Whatever our Third Prince wants, he has never failed to get. If you don't leave now, don't blame us for being ruthless," one of the lackeys said viciously.
"Hmph!" Lin Xing snorted coldly. "Don't think that just because we're freshmen, we're easy to bully!" Lin Xing truly wasn't afraid. With his strength, they probably couldn't even touch the hem of his clothes. Moreover, Lin Xing didn't know why, but the moment he saw this so-called Third Prince, an uncontrollable killing intent surged within him! In short, Lin Xing had one thought in mind: to kill this person. Lin Xing didn't know why he felt this way, but undoubtedly, this Third Prince before him was someone Lin Xing deeply detested!
Lin Xing's icy gaze fell upon the Third Prince.
The Third Prince hadn't uttered a word from beginning to end, merely watching Lin Xing with eyes like a venomous snake.
Seeing the Third Prince's demeanor, Lin Xing knew this guy was definitely a sinister and ruthless character. Thinking this, the killing intent in his heart grew even stronger. Just as tensions were reaching a boiling point, several more people came up the stairs.
"Well, well, the Third Prince of our Ensi Empire is bullying a few freshmen today. Truly worthy of being the Third Prince. I am impressed, impressed!"
The tone of the speaker suggested some kind of grudge between them.
Lin Xing looked up and saw several people coming up the stairs. Leading them was a very handsome fellow wearing a white mage robe, even taller than Lin Xing. This person walked straight up to Lin Xing and the others.
The Third Prince frowned and said, "Long Aotian, it's you!" His voice was icy cold, sending chills down one's spine.
"What, you can come, but I can't? If I hadn't come, how would I have seen you bullying freshmen?" Long Aotian said with a smile.
"These four are under my protection from now on. I warn you, don't go looking for trouble with them later," Long Aotian said, pointing at Lin Xing and the other three.
"Hmph!" The Third Prince merely snorted.
"Long Aotian, don't push your luck!" the Third Prince said angrily.
Seeing the Third Prince's anger, Long Aotian seemed quite pleased. "So what? Don't like it? Come on, let's have a fight."
The Third Prince gave Long Aotian a cold look, then shot a vicious glance at Lin Xing and the other three, snorted, and said, "Just you wait. Let's go." It seemed the Third Prince had suffered at Long Aotian's hands before and didn't dare to accept the challenge. He could only slink away in defeat.
Seeing the Third Prince and his group leave, Long Aotian turned around and politely said to Lin Xing and the others, "Hello, I am Long Aotian, a third-year magic department student at Half-Moon Academy." Lin Xing and the others felt quite favorable toward this suddenly appearing Long Aotian and each reported their names.
Hearing that Lin Xing and Xiwen were also from the Huaxia Empire, a strange glint flashed in Long Aotian's eyes, though it vanished as quickly as it appeared. Still, Lin Xing noticed it.
"So you're also from the Magic Academy. Perfect, I am too, though I arrived two years earlier than you, so I'm your senior. Meeting is fate. How about I treat you all to a meal today?" Long Aotian said with a smile.
Lin Xing and the other three exchanged glances. Feeling favorable toward Long Aotian, they readily agreed to his offer to treat them to a meal.
Long Aotian seemed very happy that they accepted his invitation. He called over the waiter to clean up the now messy area and bring new dishes. It seemed Long Aotian was quite popular here and probably ate here often. The waiter came over and said, "Young Master Long, treating guests again today?"
"Of course. These are four new friends I just met. We've just become friends, so of course I'm happy and want to treat them. Stop the chatter and hurry up with the food. Bring out the best things you have here."
"Right away, please wait a moment," the waiter said before retreating.
Soon, wine and dishes were served.
"By the way, Senior Long, if I may ask, what's your status at the school? That so-called Third Prince seemed quite afraid of you?" Lin Xing couldn't help but ask. He was still not very familiar with the place. "You've just arrived, so you must not be familiar with here, right?" Seeing Lin Xing and the other three nod, Long Aotian continued. "Half-Moon Academy can be said to be a miniature version of the Kasla Continent." "Oh, how so?" Liu Yi asked.
"Within Half-Moon Academy, there are various factions. For example, that Third Prince just now is the leader of the Ensi Empire faction within Half-Moon Academy, also known as the Ensi Association here. As for why that Third Prince seemed so afraid of me, he really is. Because, before, when he acted arrogantly in front of me, I gave him a good beating. After that beating, he started being afraid of me."
Lin Xing and the others couldn't help but suck in a cold breath. That Third Prince was, after all, the third prince of an empire. This Long Aotian before them actually dared to beat him up. It seemed Long Aotian's identity was certainly not simple either. Long Aotian, with the surname Long... could it be...? Lin Xing thought of a possibility and couldn't help but look at Long Aotian with suspicion. Unexpectedly, Long Aotian happened to be looking at him at the same time.
Long Aotian nodded at Lin Xing and said, "Your guess is not wrong. The reason I'm not afraid of retaliation from the Ensi Empire and dared to beat up their Third Prince is because my identity is also not simple. I am the current president of the Huaxia Association within Half-Moon Academy. My identity is the second prince of the Huaxia Empire—Long Aotian."
Lin Xing nodded. His guess was indeed correct. Long Aotian was indeed from the Long family.
"Of course, the factions within Half-Moon Academy aren't just ours. There are other factions as well. However, the four major factions of the Four Great Empires of the Kasla Continent are the largest here." This was understandable to everyone. After all, the strength of the Four Great Empires was evident. Developing a faction here, it would be hard for it not to be powerful. "However, offending the Ensi Third Prince today does bring you some trouble," Long Aotian said with a frown.
