Chapter 022 【Gu Feng Loses His Temper】
byOnce Gu Feng made up his mind about something, nothing in heaven or earth could stop him. He was determined to teach Ling Wei a lesson, and Big Shark couldn’t prevent it. Even though he knew Big Shark’s original intention was looking out for him.
When Gu Feng arrived at Grade 4, Class 8, apart from a few students who had asked for leave, all the others stayed in the classroom. Perhaps Gu Feng’s words had frightened them, or perhaps they wanted to stay and watch the conflict between Gu Feng and Ling Wei. In any case, this study hall had the highest attendance in Grade 4, Class 8.
“You six, take your seats,” Gu Feng said as he entered the classroom, addressing Big Shark and the other five behind him.
Big Shark nodded with a grim expression and was the first to walk toward his seat.
After they had all sat down, before Gu Feng could speak, Ling Wei beat him to the punch: “Hey, Gu, why did you make all of us stay?”
Gu Feng slowly walked down from the podium, closed the door, then returned to the podium and scanned the room. Finally, his gaze settled on Ling Wei as he said sternly, “You. Up here. Now.”
“You tell me to come up, and I just come up?” Ling Wei sneered, not only refusing to stand but even boldly propping his feet up on the desk.
Seeing Ling Wei’s cocky and defiant act, the other students in the class all looked on like they were watching a show.
Hearing Ling Wei’s words, Gu Feng walked down from the podium without a change in expression and headed toward Ling Wei.
Seeing Gu Feng’s move, everyone in the class held their breath.
Ling Wei, meeting Gu Feng’s icy gaze, felt a chill run down his spine. Subconsciously, he put his feet down, stepped out into the aisle, clenched his fists, and assumed a fighting stance.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Gu Feng walked steadily up to Ling Wei.
“I heard you’ve practiced martial arts?” Gu Feng stared coldly at Ling Wei, speaking slowly and emphasizing each word.
Ling Wei had thought Gu Feng would attack as soon as he approached, so all his nerves were tense. Hearing Gu Feng’s unexpected question, he relaxed slightly and glared at Gu Feng with disdain. “What? You want to try?”
When the students in the classroom heard Gu Feng’s cocky challenge, except for the student named Yang Bing and Big Shark, they all burst into laughter. In their view, Gu Feng picking a fight with Ling Wei simply had a death wish. Not long ago, Ling Wei had put a teacher from the school in the hospital, who was still lying there.
“I’ll stand right here and let you hit me. If I so much as shift my feet within three minutes, I lose.” The students’ laughter didn’t change Gu Feng’s expression in the slightest. He stared straight at Ling Wei and said, “Do you have the guts?”
As soon as Gu Feng spoke, the noisy classroom immediately fell silent. Almost all the students looked at Gu Feng as if he were an idiot. In their eyes, Gu Feng was simply playing with fire.
Ling Wei was furious upon hearing Gu Feng’s words and said coldly, “You're digging your own grave—don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
“If you lose, the matter of you scaring Teacher Xia with a snake will be for me to decide how to deal with,” Gu Feng said seriously.
“Cut the crap. How could I lose to you?” Ling Wei snorted disdainfully. “Where do we fight?”
Gu Feng rolled his neck, took two steps back, and said, “Right here. Let’s begin.”
Seeing Gu Feng standing casually in place, Ling Wei sneered, “You're dead!”
As he spoke, Ling Wei stepped forward, whirled around, and let fly with a fierce roundhouse kick.
The roundhouse kick looked impressive and packed a punch, but it wasn’t very practical in actual combat—mainly because it left too many openings. For a combat expert, using a roundhouse kick was basically asking for trouble.
Seeing Ling Wei execute the flashy roundhouse kick, many students held their breath. They clearly remembered that not long ago, Ling Wei had used a roundhouse kick to send that teacher flying several meters away.
Facing Ling Wei’s fierce roundhouse kick, Gu Feng’s expression remained utterly impassive. Although he could tell Ling Wei had some martial arts foundation, it was still pretty green.
Gu Feng nonchalantly lifted his right hand and, to everyone’s surprise, cupped Ling Wei’s foot in his palm. Before Ling Wei could react, Gu Feng suddenly exerted force with his right hand. With a strong push, Ling Wei’s body was sent flying backward.
“Bang!” Ling Wei’s body slammed hard against the wall, emitting a dull thump.
The sudden turn of events left all the students in the class stunned, especially Big Shark. He had been extremely worried, but when he saw Gu Feng easily deflect Ling Wei’s attack, his jaw dropped in shock, and he looked at Gu Feng as if he were an alien.
Ling Wei got up from the ground, face dark with anger, let out a roar, and charged again. This time, Ling Wei didn’t use any flashy moves but instead threw a simple, direct punch. Clearly, Gu Feng’s earlier move had angered him.
Facing the whistling punch, Gu Feng weaved his head to the side and swiftly brought his right hand around in a sharp slap.
“Slap!” Ling Wei’s cheek was struck hard by Gu Feng, leaving five red finger marks, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
“Slap!” Before Ling Wei could react, Gu Feng backhanded him.
The crisp sound of slaps rang out in the quiet classroom, stunning almost all the students with this sudden turn of events!
With a roar, Ling Wei swiftly launched a side kick with his right foot.
Gu Feng blocked it with his arm, quickly grabbed Ling Wei’s ankle, and slammed him to the floor.
Ling Wei wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with a cold expression and sprang back to his feet with a carp flip. Wiser from the beating, he no longer attacked recklessly. He knew Gu Feng was the real deal. By now, all traces of arrogance had vanished from his face, replaced by a cautious expression.
“Slap!”
“Slap!”
…
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
…
Three minutes later, Ling Wei’s face had completely swollen into a pig’s head, his cheeks puffed up like steamed buns, the corners of his mouth split open, and blood kept flowing. His once-clean white shirt was now covered in dust.
Over the past three minutes, without moving his feet, Gu Feng had slapped Ling Wei ten times and put him on the floor twelve times.
“You lost,” Gu Feng said expressionlessly, checking his watch.
Ling Wei, eyes blazing and panting heavily, was about to charge again when he suddenly heard Gu Feng’s words. His eyes instantly dimmed, and he said dejectedly, “Just tell me what you want me to do.”
Hearing Ling Wei’s words, Gu Feng’s impression of him improved somewhat. At the very least, Ling Wei was a man who kept his promises. Moreover, during the past three minutes, no matter how Gu Feng hit him, Ling Wei never made a sound—a level of perseverance that was truly outstanding among his peers.
“You must write a written self-criticism about today’s incident and hand it to me tomorrow. Additionally, you must personally apologize to Teacher Xia. If Teacher Xia doesn’t accept your apology, pack your bags and get out of Zifeng Middle School!” Gu Feng stared at Ling Wei, enunciating each word clearly.
“Understood,” Ling Wei nodded immediately, then returned to his seat with a dejected expression, lost in thought.
Gu Feng noticed all of this.
Ling Wei was a martial artist who had great confidence in his skills. Now, being so easily defeated by Gu Feng was undoubtedly a heavy blow to him. It was precisely because Gu Feng realized this that he resisted the urge to simply beat Ling Wei up and instead challenged him to a contest.
Without saying anything more to Ling Wei, Gu Feng turned and walked back to the podium, scanning the room once more.
Although Gu Feng had just defeated Ling Wei and forced him to submit, many students in the class still looked at him with disdain.
“Let me introduce myself first. My surname is Gu, as in ‘grain.’ I’m your new physical education teacher,” Gu Feng said calmly, looking at the nearly thirty students below. “Today was my first time teaching your class, but only ten of you showed up.”
At this point, Gu Feng’s expression changed, and his tone shifted. “This is the first time, and it will be the last. I don’t care about other classes, but from now on, every single one of you must attend PE class. If anyone needs to ask for leave, hand the leave slip to the class monitor, who will then give it to me.”
Seeing some students wearing expressions of disdain, Gu Feng sneered and said, “I’ve heard about your track record—you’ve driven away six homeroom teachers, four of whom ended up in mental hospitals. Here’s what I want to say to you: I welcome you to use the same methods you used on other teachers on me.”
After saying this, Gu Feng left the classroom under the astonished gazes of all the students in Grade 4, Class 8.
As soon as Gu Feng left, Grade 4, Class 8 immediately became as noisy as a marketplace again.
“Hell, is he challenging us?”
“We need to take this guy down a peg!”
…
The students in the class were extremely dissatisfied with Gu Feng’s final words and vented their anger.
Clearly, Gu Feng still had a long way to go before he could completely win over the students of Grade 4, Class 8.
