Just then, a police officer hurried over, glanced at both of them, and said, "Officer Zhang, the girl, Lin Jiaying, has regained consciousness. Should we notify her parents?"

"Wait a moment, let me go see her first," Gu Feng said before Officer Zhang could respond.

Zhang Shaodong stubbed out his cigarette and said, "Let him go see her first."

Following the officer's lead, Gu Feng and Zhang Shaodong arrived at the door of Lin Jiaying's hospital room.

Zhang Shaodong tactfully stopped at the doorway, allowing Gu Feng to enter alone.

Inside the room, Lin Jiaying looked pale as she lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling with a dazed look on her face. She seemed confused, still unable to grasp what had happened.

Hearing footsteps, Lin Jiaying instinctively turned her head. When she saw Gu Feng, her eyes widened in shock.

Gu Feng walked to her bedside, sat on a chair, and asked, "How are you feeling?"

Perhaps due to guilt over her mistake, Lin Jiaying avoided looking at Gu Feng and simply nodded with her head lowered.

"Why did you go to the KTV with those people?" Gu Feng's expression remained stern as always.

"I..." Lin Jiaying didn't know how to answer. Then, remembering she had gone to the KTV because of an argument with Gu Feng, her expression changed, and she replied defiantly, "It's none of your business."

"Those people drugged your drink. By the time I found you, you were completely out of it," Gu Feng said with a cold laugh. "If I hadn't arrived in time, you would have been raped!"

Lin Jiaying was unaware of the details. Hearing Gu Feng's words, her face instantly paled, and her body trembled uncontrollably. Clearly, what Gu Feng had just described was terrifying to her.

"How do you know those guys?" Gu Feng asked again, his tone icy.

Lin Jiaying looked upset and said, "I... I don't know them!"

"You don't know them, yet you went to such a place with them?" Hearing her response, Gu Feng grew angry, raising his voice.

Unable to meet Gu Feng's stern gaze, Lin Jiaying turned her head away and said, "After arguing with you, I said I wouldn't go back to stay with you, but I was too scared to go home. I was just hanging around the classroom after school, bored, and when Jingjing invited me, I just went along."

Although there was a hint of defiance in her tone, she didn't dare show it openly.

Hearing this, Gu Feng was slightly taken aback and instinctively glanced at Wang Jingjing in the adjacent bed. Recalling how Lin Jiaying had mentioned wanting to go home in the KTV private room while Wang Jingjing appeared indifferent, Gu Feng felt a surge of anger. "I won't tell your parents about this," Gu Feng said after a moment's thought. "I've already paid the fees. After I leave, rest here and remember to go to school on time tomorrow morning. Gu Feng was speaking the truth. If Lin Jiaying hadn't happened to hit the answer button earlier, the fate of both her and Wang Jingjing would have been clear.
