Chapter 053 【Impulsive First Kiss】
by 我本瘋狂As night fell and the sun sank behind the mountains, the sky gradually darkened. Neon lights illuminated the streets and alleys of Hong Kong, heralding the arrival of darkness. [Text omitted]
Lin Jiaying walked along the street with her schoolbag on her back, with a disappointed look.
After school ended in the afternoon, she'd raced to the ticket sales location for Zhou Tong’s concert, hoping to buy a ticket for the back rows. When she arrived, there was already a long line at the ticket window. Reluctantly, she joined the end of the queue, only to be told by the ticket seller when it was finally her turn that all the tickets were sold out.
This left Lin Jiaying utterly disheartened. Not only had she stood in line for over an hour for nothing, but she hadn’t even managed to get a ticket.
Suddenly, a sharp ringtone snapped her out of her thoughts. She took out her phone and saw the screen showed Gu Feng was calling.
“Hello,” Lin Jiaying answered, unable to hide the disappointment in her voice.
On the other end of the line, Gu Feng had dinner ready and had been waiting for Lin Jiaying for nearly an hour without seeing her return, so he had decided to call. Hearing something off in her voice, he asked with concern, “Jia Ying, where are you?”
“I’m at the entrance of the apartment,” Lin Jiaying replied weakly, glancing up at the Mingzhu Apartments ahead.
“Oh,” Gu Feng responded. Although he was curious about her unusual tone, he didn’t press further. “Then hurry back! Dinner is ready. I’ll wait for you.”
“Mm,” Lin Jiaying said before hanging up.
Ten minutes later, Lin Jiaying returned home. Seeing the food on the dining table, she gave Gu Feng a guilty look and said, “I’m sorry for making you wait so long.”
Gu Feng smiled and shook his head. “It’s fine. By the way, Jia Ying, you don’t look too well. Are you feeling unwell again?”
Lin Jiaying shook her head gently and walked straight to the dining table. After sitting down, she found she had no appetite at all.
“What’s wrong?” Gu Feng noticed her low spirits and couldn’t help but ask.
Having waited in line for over an hour only to fail to get a ticket, Lin Jiaying was already feeling upset. Hearing Gu Feng’s question, she said dejectedly, “After school this afternoon, I went to buy tickets for Zhou Tong’s concert, but when it was my turn, they were all sold out…” By the end of her sentence, she was on the verge of tears.
Hearing this, Gu Feng was momentarily stunned. He quickly stood up, walked to the coat rack, and pulled from his pocket the two VIP tickets to Zhou Tong's concert he'd been given. “Jia Ying, were you trying to buy tickets for Zhou Tong’s concert? I have two tickets here. I’ll go with you on Saturday.”
As he spoke, Gu Feng felt a twinge of guilt. He had originally planned to give the tickets to Lin Jiaying when she returned, but he hadn’t expected her to rush off to buy tickets right after school. If he had known, he would have called her to explain.
In her low spirits, Lin Jiaying hadn’t paid much attention when Gu Feng stood up. But upon hearing his words, she froze for a moment before suddenly standing up herself. She stared wide-eyed at Gu Feng for a few seconds, then asked in a tone of disbelief, “You… you mean… you have two tickets to Zhou Tong’s concert?”
“Yes,” Gu Feng nodded gently, then walked over to Lin Jiaying and handed her the tickets.
Lin Jiaying took the tickets from Gu Feng with great excitement, her eyes widening as she examined them closely. Then, her mouth fell open, and she exclaimed, “These are two VIP tickets!”
Gu Feng didn’t say anything, just smiled and nodded.
Lin Jiaying held the tickets up high and inspected them again, confirming they were indeed VIP tickets—the best seats in the house, allowing up-close contact with Zhou Tong.
The next moment, Lin Jiaying excitedly threw her arms around Gu Feng’s neck and quickly planted a kiss on his cheek. After doing this, she waved the tickets in her hand, jumping up and down as she cried out, “Two VIP tickets! I can see my idol up close! Gu Feng, thank you!”
Gu Feng, having been kissed by Lin Jiaying, felt a cool sensation on his cheek and caught the faint scent of her breath. For a moment, he was caught off guard, his expression turning somewhat odd.
After bouncing around for a few seconds, Lin Jiaying noticed the odd look on Gu Feng’s face and realized she had been too impulsive. A blush spread across her beautiful cheeks, as red as Xinjiang grapes, making her look utterly adorable.
“How… how did you get these two tickets?” Lin Jiaying asked, lowering her head and avoiding Gu Feng’s gaze, her tone laced with amazement.
“A friend gave them to me,” Gu Feng replied, having regained his composure. He changed the subject, saying, “Alright, let’s eat.”
Hearing this, Lin Jiaying instinctively thought of Qiao Gang, who had driven her and Gu Feng to school that day. In her impression, Qiao Gang was a very wealthy person. She assumed he was the one who had bought the tickets for Gu Feng.
What she didn’t realize was that the person who had given Gu Feng the concert tickets was none other than her idol. Moreover, she had argued with Gu Feng over her idol just the day before…
Originally, Lin Jiaying had been extremely downhearted about the tickets. But now, with two VIP tickets in hand, a happy smile remained on her face. The feeling was like suddenly being lifted from hell to heaven. In her improved mood, Lin Jiaying’s appetite returned with a vengeance, and she ate with even less restraint than usual.
Seeing Lin Jiaying wolf down her food as eagerly as he did, Gu Feng couldn’t help but smile. He wondered to himself, *Have I been too strict with her before?*
After dinner, before Gu Feng could say anything, Lin Jiaying immediately began clearing the dishes from the table.
“Your cold isn’t completely better yet. Let me do it,” Gu Feng said, standing up and patting Lin Jiaying’s shoulder. “You go do your homework.”
Hearing his words, a wave of warmth flowed through Lin Jiaying’s heart. She smiled happily and obediently returned to her bedroom.
After tidying up the kitchen, Gu Feng washed his hands, put on his jacket, and pushed open the door to Lin Jiaying’s bedroom. “Jia Ying, I have something to take care of. I’ll be back later.”
This time, Lin Jiaying didn’t get angry as she usually would. Instead, she replied gently, “Mm, come back early.”
Gu Feng nodded, gently closed the door, and left the apartment.
As soon as he reached the ground floor, his phone rang. The caller was Ling Wei.
“Teacher Gu, I’m at the entrance of your apartment. Come on out,” Ling Wei’s voice came through the receiver as soon as the call connected.
“Be right there,” Gu Feng said before hanging up.
At the apartment entrance, Ling Wei was sitting in his flashy Maserati Cue. Seeing Gu Feng emerge, he quickly jumped out of the car, looking anxious. “Teacher Gu, hurry up! Yang Bing, that punk, is already at Mid-Levels. He just called me, thinking I wouldn’t show up, and said I could skip it if I was scared! That’s so damn infuriating!”
“Don’t rush. It’s not time yet, is it?” Gu Feng replied calmly as he got into the car.
Gu Feng’s response left Ling Wei speechless. Without another word, Ling Wei floored the accelerator. The purple Maserati Cue let out a piercing roar and shot into the street like a purple whirlwind, heading straight for Mid-Levels.
