"Mr. Qiao, I know I was wrong. Please let me off!" Although Yan Zhengchun didn't know Qiao Gang's true identity, he was aware of his close relationship with Commissioner of Police Chen Binglong. If Chen Binglong found out he had conspired to frame Qiao Gang's friend, he'd be kicked off the force.

He'd worked hard to climb from a beat cop to Superintendent, and he naturally didn't want to lose his position.

"Yan, you messed with my big brother. You should get on your knees and beg him," Qiao Gang said, casting a disdainful glance at Yan Zhengchun.

Hearing this, Yan Zhengchun struggled to crawl across the floor to Gu Feng's feet, clutching his leg. "I was a fool, I didn't know who I was dealing with. Please spare me!"

"Yan, do you even know who you've offended?" Qiao Gang felt frustrated seeing Yan Zhengchun wagging his tail like a pug. He thought it was beneath Gu Feng to be tricked by such a lowlife.

Gu Feng cut off Qiao Gang with a look and glanced down at Yan Zhengchun. "I believe this isn't Zhou Mingwei's first time pulling a stunt like this. So, you have only one way out: put Zhou Mingwei behind bars."

Gu Feng's words made Yan Zhengchun go pale instantly. Clearly, in Yan Zhengchun's eyes, Gu Feng was far more devious than Qiao Gang.

"What? You're unwilling?" Qiao Gang glared, his eyes bulging as he said sternly.

"Willing, of course I'm willing." Spooked by Qiao Gang's threat, Yan Zhengchun immediately made his choice between the Zhou family and Gu Feng. In his view, although the Zhou family had some influence in Hong Kong, it was nothing compared to the clout of the Hong Kong Commissioner of Police. Moreover, he had no idea about Qiao Gang's true identity—perhaps it was even more formidable than he imagined.

"Also, take care of that fight." If Gu Feng had been willing to take the fall before, he had now changed his mind. He felt it wasn't worth going to prison for someone like Zhou Mingwei—not one bit.

Yan Zhengchun was a smart man. He read between the lines of Gu Feng's words and nodded promptly. "Rest assured, I will definitely handle this matter properly."

Then, under Yan Zhengchun's obsequious smiles, Gu Feng and Qiao Gang left the police station.

After the two had gone, Yan Zhengchun was helped up by four police officers. He composed himself and said sternly, "Act as if you saw nothing just now. If anyone breathes a word about what happened today, don't blame me if I come down hard on you!"

The four officers were all Yan Zhengchun's loyal men. Hearing this, they nodded in agreement.

Outside the police station, Lin Jiaying, in her school uniform, clutched her phone, looking anxious. After school ended at noon, she had rushed to the police station as fast as she could, only to be stopped by the officers at the entrance.

In her frustration, she kept trying Gu Feng's number, but his phone was turned off, just like in the morning.

Remembering Zhang Shaodong's warning that Gu Feng might go to prison, tears spilled from Lin Jiaying's eyes. Even though they didn't get along and she didn't particularly like him, she couldn't bear the thought of him going to prison because of her.

Thinking this, Lin Jiaying mustered her courage, her hands trembling as she prepared to dial Xu Qin's number.

"Jia Ying." Just then, Qiao Gang's flashy Hummer pulled up beside Lin Jiaying. Gu Feng opened the car door, stepped out, and called her name.

Seeing Gu Feng, Lin Jiaying was stunned for a moment before she burst into tears, running to him and throwing herself into his arms. She clung tightly to his back, sobbing loudly.

As she hugged him, Gu Feng caught her faint, youthful scent. He reached out and gently brushed the hair from her forehead, speaking softly, "It's okay, don't cry. I'm fine."

That just made Lin Jiaying cry even harder. Tears streamed down her beautiful face, soaking the front of her clothes. She sobbed, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have thrown a fit. I shouldn't have gone to that kind of place..."

Gu Feng extended his rough hand, gently wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes. He cupped her face and said, "Alright, no more crying. You haven't eaten yet, have you? Let me take you to get something to eat."

Lin Jiaying looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears, momentarily stunned. She had never imagined that the always-so-serious Gu Feng would speak to her so tenderly.

Gu Feng smiled slightly, guiding her by the shoulders toward Qiao Gang's car. Lin Jiaying glanced in surprise at the flashy vehicle before turning her gaze to Qiao Gang.

"Hey there, sis," Qiao Gang said, flashing what he thought was a charming smile and waving at Lin Jiaying.

    Sis?

Hearing this, Lin Jiaying immediately pulled away from Gu Feng's shoulder. A faint blush spread across her beautiful cheeks, making her look utterly adorable.

Gu Feng shot Qiao Gang an annoyed look but didn't know what to say. Even though he hadn't told Qiao Gang about his relationship with Lin Jiaying, Qiao Gang's address wasn't wrong.

Seeing that the usually stern Gu Feng didn't scold him, Qiao Gang's jaw dropped in disbelief. Clearly, he hadn't expected a man as serious and rigid as Gu Feng to have a thing for younger girls.

Gu Feng couldn't be bothered to explain. He turned to Lin Jiaying, who was hiding behind him, and said, "Get in the car."

Lin Jiaying's face flushed bright red. She didn't dare look at Gu Feng, merely letting out a soft "Oh" before nervously climbing into the car.

"Just drive quietly and cut the chatter," Gu Feng glared at the gleeful Qiao Gang, then got in and closed the door.

Qiao Gang chuckled mischievously and started the car.

"What would you like to eat?" Despite the awkward atmosphere, Gu Feng still asked.

Lin Jiaying, her face still red, nervously fidgeted with the hem of her clothes and whispered, "Anything is fine."

"Qiao Gang, find us a restaurant to eat at. Try to pick one nearby. It's getting late, and Jia Ying and I still have to go to school this afternoon," Gu Feng said, checking the time on his wrist.

Qiao Gang was much more familiar with Hong Kong than Gu Feng. Soon, he took them to a dai pai dong near the police station.

Knowing that Gu Feng disliked extravagance and waste, Qiao Gang didn't take them to any upscale places.

Since it was noon, the dai pai dong was crowded with diners. The three found a table, and Gu Feng ordered a few dishes casually.

Unlike high-end restaurants, dai pai dongs focused on tasty food, reasonable prices, and quick service. Soon, the waiter brought their dishes to the table.

Worried about Gu Feng's situation, Lin Jiaying hadn't eaten anything since the previous night. As soon as the food arrived, she set aside any pretense of ladylike manners and picked up her chopsticks first, amusing Gu Feng.

In less than half an hour, the three of them finished all four dishes and the soup.

After the meal, Gu Feng initially planned to take a taxi to school with Lin Jiaying, but he couldn't resist Qiao Gang's enthusiasm. So, he let Qiao Gang drop them off at the entrance of Zifeng Middle School.

Once the car stopped, Qiao Gang glanced back at Gu Feng and said, "Big brother, don't worry about yesterday's incident. Leave it to me to handle."

Gu Feng nodded without saying anything.

After watching Qiao Gang drive away, Lin Jiaying didn't head into the school gate alone. Instead, she walked alongside Gu Feng.

"Stop!" Just as they were about to step onto the campus, an angry shout halted them in their tracks.
