Xia Wei's words gave Gu Feng a start. He understood she had recognized him.

Though he was a little surprised inside, Gu Feng's expression remained perfectly calm. He was a steady and composed man, never letting his feelings show on his face.

"Teacher Xia, what do you mean by that?" After a moment's thought, Gu Feng decided to deny it, since Xia Wei had no proof.

Seeing Gu Feng unwilling to admit it, Xia Wei smiled awkwardly and didn't press further, changing the topic instead. "Let's go, class is about to start. I need to make a round through the classroom before it begins." As she said the last sentence, her brows furrowed slightly, as though something was bothering her.

Seeing that Xia Wei wasn't going to press him, Gu Feng nodded with a smile.

From an office window in the administration building, Hu Hua, a cigarette pinched between his fingers, frowned as he stared intently at Gu Feng and Xia Wei walking toward the building. The cigarette butt in his hand was almost burnt out, but he made no move to discard it—or perhaps he hadn't even noticed.

He looked somewhat sinister, especially when he saw Xia Wei smiling at Gu Feng, his eyes narrowing into slits.

He only felt the pain in his hand when the two entered the administration building, and he quickly flicked the cigarette butt away.

Shortly after, Gu Feng arrived at the office. Xia Wei wasn't with him, having gone to check on her class.

"Teacher Gu, you're here!" In the office, only three teachers were bent over their desks, looking up materials. Seeing Gu Feng enter, Hu Hua greeted him with a beaming smile.

Gu Feng nodded at Hu Hua with a smile but said nothing.

Gu Feng's silence made Hu Hua's expression change slightly. He frowned, then lowered his head to tidy the books on his desk, somewhat distractedly.

Gu Feng walked to his seat, picked up the class schedule, and saw he had a physical education class in the third period of the afternoon—for Class 8, Grade 4. The school had assigned him two classes in total, each with two lessons per week, so his schedule was pretty light.

Gu Feng picked up the student records for Class 8, Grade 4, and skimmed through them, his eyes immediately falling on several familiar names: Ling Wei, Xu Kai...

Looking at this string of familiar names, Gu Feng thought for a moment and suddenly remembered seeing these names on the disciplinary notice posted at the entrance of the teaching building. He found this puzzling—out of all the classes in the school, all six disciplined students were from Class 8, Grade 4.

This piqued his curiosity about the class.

"Teacher Xia is here." At that moment, Hu Hua broke the silence in the office again, flashing what he thought was a charming smile at Xia Wei as he spoke.

Xia Wei's expression was grim, her brows tightly knitted together, as if she hadn't heard Hu Hua's words, which annoyed him a bit. However, he quickly asked with concern, "Teacher Xia, you don't look well. Are you feeling unwell?"

This time, Xia Wei glanced up at Hu Hua, forcing a smile. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Teacher Hu." With that, she made straight for her seat.

Xia Wei's desk was right in front of Gu Feng's. As she sat down, Gu Feng noticed a piece of paper stuck to her back, with a turtle drawn on it. The turtle was drawn in vivid detail, its expression captured so well it seemed almost alive. Next to the turtle, written in bright red marker, were the words: "I am a turtle."

"Teacher Xia." Seeing the turtle on Xia Wei's back, Gu Feng called out to her. When she turned around, he said, "There's a piece of paper stuck to your back."

Xia Wei paused for a moment, then reached back and pulled the paper off, glancing at it curiously.

The moment she saw it, her expression changed instantly, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

Earlier, when she had gone to the class, out of 40 students, fewer than 30 were present; the others were nowhere to be found. This had annoyed her, but she hadn't lost her temper. Now, seeing the turtle on the paper, she immediately understood it was the students' doing, and anger surged within her.

Hu Hua had been observing Gu Feng and Xia Wei's movements. Seeing the turtle in Xia Wei's hand, he suggested, "Teacher Xia, the students in Class 8, Grade 4 are too difficult to handle. I think you should talk to the principal and switch to another class."

"That's right, Teacher Xia. A good teacher like you shouldn't be ruined by those trash students!" another teacher chimed in.

"There are no trash students in this world, only students who aren't rebellious," Xia Wei retorted, her expression darkening as she glanced at the teacher. "I refuse to believe I can't set the students of Class 8, Grade 4 on the right path."

"If they could change for the better, the sun would have to rise from the west," the teacher shot back, feeling stung by Xia Wei's indifferent tone and unable to resist a retort.

"What's so special about Class 8, Grade 4?" Gu Feng asked after a moment's thought.

"Class 8, Grade 4 is famously known as the 'devil class' of the school. Before Teacher Xia, six homeroom teachers had been driven to resign by that class—four ended up in mental hospitals, and two quit Zifeng Middle School altogether," the teacher continued, his tone carrying a hint of resentment, as if feeling unappreciated for his concern.

Gu Feng let out an "oh," then noticed the angry expression on Xia Wei's face vanish completely, replaced by calm composure. She gently smoothed out the drawing, opened her drawer, and carefully placed the turtle drawing inside.

Apart from Gu Feng, the other teachers in the office looked at Xia Wei with puzzled expressions, not understanding her behavior. Only Gu Feng knew that Xia Wei was a woman who appeared weak on the outside but was strong inside—the mall kidnapping incident was the best proof. Such a person would never yield in the face of difficulty.

Remembering he had a physical education class with Class 8, Grade 4 in the third period, Gu Feng felt a sense of anticipation. He wanted to see just how "devilish" this devil class really was!
