Chapter 068 【One-on-One】
by 我本瘋狂On his way from the office to the classroom, Gu Feng learned the whole story from Tian Tao.
Xu Qiang was a cold, aloof guy. After arriving in class, he remained silent and didn’t speak to anyone.
Tian Tao was naturally talkative, and seeing Xu Qiang keeping to himself, he went over to chat. During their conversation, he accidentally caught sight of the knife scars on Xu Qiang’s body.
For a high school student, this discovery was like finding a whole new world!
After all, for kids sixteen or seventeen years old, having a classmate covered in knife scars would shock anyone.
Tian Tao’s discovery instantly made Xu Qiang the center of attention in the class. A few students from Ling Wei’s gang couldn’t resist trying to strip Xu Qiang’s clothes to get a closer look.
Back when Ling Wei and Gu Feng were together, they hadn’t been afraid of dozens of thugs like Bo Zai and his crew, so how could Xu Qiang willingly let these students bully him?
Those guys, who usually relied on their friendship with Ling Wei and loved to pick fights, naturally weren’t happy with Xu Qiang’s resistance.
As a result… Xu Qiang ended up in a fierce fight with two of them.
Gu Feng had witnessed Xu Qiang’s skills before. His style was pure street fighting, but it was incredibly agile, and most importantly, Xu Qiang fought with a fierce ferocity!
That ferocity had even surprised Gu Feng back then, so Ling Wei’s so-called friends were no match for him.
In the end, the two students were beaten bloody by Xu Qiang.
As the leader of the group, Ling Wei didn’t say a word when he found out. He immediately challenged Xu Qiang to a one-on-one fight.
Xu Qiang had wielded a knife before and had taken plenty of knife wounds himself, so he didn’t take Ling Wei’s challenge seriously.
Ling Wei had practiced martial arts since childhood and had a solid foundation. His skills were nothing short of terrifying among his peers. In less than a minute, he knocked Xu Qiang down several times, even breaking Xu Qiang’s nose and splattering blood all over his face.
The students of Class 4-8 had seen Ling Wei’s skills before. Fearing that Ling Wei might accidentally kill someone after seeing Xu Qiang’s miserable state, they tried to break it up. However, Xu Qiang not only refused to admit defeat but also continued fighting Ling Wei.
Despite Xu Qiang’s fearlessness and unyielding spirit, his skills were still far inferior to Ling Wei’s. He was knocked down several more times.
By this point, Xu Qiang was covered in blood, looking like a man made of blood. Yet, he showed no intention of stopping and still wanted to continue fighting Ling Wei.
Terrified by Xu Qiang’s ferocity and fearing a tragedy, Tian Tao rushed to the office as fast as he could to snitch to Gu Feng.
…
Upon learning all this, Gu Feng’s expression turned grim. He knew that with Xu Qiang’s stubborn temper, he would never admit defeat unless Ling Wei killed him. And Ling Wei, being a martial artist himself, wouldn’t back down as long as his opponent refused to surrender.
Just as Gu Feng had expected, when he arrived at the classroom door with Tian Tao, the two were still fighting.
The students had deliberately moved the desks to the front, leaving a large empty space at the back of the classroom. They crowded around, encircling Ling Wei and Xu Qiang in the middle.
In the center of the crowd, Ling Wei’s clothes were stained with blood, and his right fist was dyed red. His expression was complicated, and a faint trace of fear flickered in his dark eyes, as if he was intimidated by Xu Qiang’s fearless determination.
Opposite him, Xu Qiang lay on the ground, covered in blood. His eyes were red, glaring venomously at Ling Wei as he struggled to push himself up with his hands, trying to rise and continue the fight.
Gu Feng quickly shoved his way through the crowd. Seeing this scene, his face darkened.
When the students noticed Gu Feng, they snapped out of their shock. Yang Bing spoke up, “Teacher Gu, please stop them quickly. If this continues, Xu Qiang might die.”
Gu Feng frowned and shot a sharp glance at Ling Wei. Ling Wei couldn’t meet his gaze and lowered his head, saying guiltily, “Teacher Gu, I… I only wanted to teach him a lesson, but I didn’t expect…”
“Enough!” Gu Feng snapped coldly. He then walked over to Xu Qiang, helped him up, and gently patted his forehead a few times.
After doing this, he asked some of the girls in the class for tissues and used them to stop the bleeding from Xu Qiang’s nose.
Like Ling Wei, Xu Qiang also avoided Gu Feng’s gaze, keeping his head down.
Xu Qiang remembered everything Gu Feng had selflessly done for him and his mother. He had come to school precisely because he didn’t want to disappoint Gu Feng, yet he never expected to get into a conflict with his classmates on his very first day.
Xu Qiang didn’t wipe the blood from his face. His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, as if he wanted to say something.
“Don’t say anything,” Gu Feng said calmly to Xu Qiang. He then glanced at Ling Wei and said, “Ling Wei, come with me. The rest of you, move the desks back, clean up the blood on the floor, and get ready for class.”
Perhaps the sight of Xu Qiang covered in blood had frightened the students, or perhaps Gu Feng had already established his authority in Class 4-8. No one objected. Instead, they quickly made way for Gu Feng to help Xu Qiang out, with Ling Wei following closely behind.
Just then, the bell rang in the hallway. The students of Class 4-8 hurriedly moved the desks and cleaned the floor.
“How do you feel? Are you dizzy?” Gu Feng asked Xu Qiang with a hint of concern.
Xu Qiang shook his head but still avoided Gu Feng’s gaze.
A few minutes later, Gu Feng brought Xu Qiang and Ling Wei to the school infirmary.
Since it was early morning, the infirmary was mostly empty. Andrea was still wearing her signature pink nurse’s uniform, sitting at the entrance with her legs crossed, applying makeup in front of a mirror.
Hearing footsteps, Andrea put away her mirror and looked up at the group. When she saw Xu Qiang covered in blood, she jumped up from her seat, her mouth agape with an incredulous expression. “Oh, Mother Mary! What happened to him?” she exclaimed, quickly rushing to Xu Qiang’s side with a worried look.
“Miss Andrea, please help him clean the blood and give him a blood transfusion,” Gu Feng said calmly. Based on his earlier observation, he was certain Xu Qiang wasn’t seriously injured—just suffering from excessive blood loss.
Without hesitation, Andrea took Xu Qiang’s hand and led him inside.
Gu Feng turned to look at Ling Wei, who was standing behind him with his head bowed. After a moment’s thought, he said, “Ling Wei, come here.”
Hearing Gu Feng’s words, Ling Wei walked over with his head still lowered, standing before Gu Feng. In a remorseful tone, he said, “Teacher Gu, I’m sorry. I’ve caused trouble for you again. I’m willing to accept your punishment.”
With that, Ling Wei mustered his courage and looked up, meeting Gu Feng’s gaze.
