Chapter 023 【Love Master】

Half the sun had already dipped below the horizon, as dusk arrived with a gentle, cool breeze. The campus buildings, painted by the fading sunlight, were draped in a golden coat, looking exceptionally beautiful.

It being self-study period, there were hardly any students moving around on campus, only some student athletes training on the playground. The lingering glow of the sunset shone on them, and from a distance, they looked like sprites dancing in the evening glow.

Gu Feng walked alone along the campus path, gazing at the scenery with some feeling. He'd been in Hong Kong for almost a week now, and he was gradually adapting to his current life. He crossed the campus road and arrived at the school hospital. By then, there were practically no students around the hospital entrance.

"Hi!" As soon as Gu Feng entered the hospital, he saw the blonde Andrea smiling and greeting him.

"How is Teacher Xia doing? Is she stable now?" Gu Feng asked Andrea.

Andrea still wore her charming smile and nodded, saying, "It's stabilized. She should be fine after resting for a while. She's pretty tough mentally; it was just temporary panic."

Andrea's answer was more or less what Gu Feng had expected. Xia Wei, though outwardly fragile, was inwardly strong and unlikely to suffer a mental breakdown.

"Are you going in?" Andrea gave Gu Feng a strange look and said, "A teacher named Hu is inside keeping her company."

Andrea's words gave Gu Feng pause. Before he could respond, Andrea smiled suggestively and said, "What? You're not afraid to go in because your love rival is there, are you? When I checked earlier, Teacher Xia didn't seem very interested in that Teacher Hu. So, I suggest you go in."

Just as Gu Feng was about to shake his head and explain, he saw Hu Hua walking out of Ward 103 with a grim expression. From a distance, Hu Hua spotted Gu Feng, and looked at him with a complex expression.

Soon, Hu Hua approached Gu Feng, forcing a smile and said, "Teacher Gu, are you here to see Teacher Xia? She just fell asleep. You probably shouldn't disturb her."

"Teacher Hu, thank you for the reminder," Gu Feng replied, glancing at Hu Hua.

Hearing this, Hu Hua's face brightened, and the smile on his lips grew wider. "Teacher Gu, let me thank you for Teacher Xia for what happened earlier. Those students really are so out of line."

"Teacher Hu, are you Teacher Xia's boyfriend?" Andrea held a small mirror, glancing at Hu Hua while checking her reflection.

Hu Hua leered at Andrea's ample chest and shook his head, saying, "No, I'm not, beautiful Miss Andrea."

"Then why are you thanking Teacher Gu on Teacher Xia's behalf?" Hu Hua's lecherous gaze annoyed Andrea, though she still wore a bewitching smile. "If anyone should thank him, it should be Teacher Xia herself, right?"

Hearing this, Hu Hua smiled awkwardly and said, "Ah, I have something to attend to. I should go now." With that, he scurried away.

"Miss Andrea, I'll take my leave as well," Gu Feng said, intending to leave after Hu Hua had gone.

Andrea put away her mirror and gave Gu Feng a look of exasperation. "Teacher Gu, I don't mean to criticize, but as a man, you should be more proactive and thicker-skinned in matters of love. A shy man like you will find it hard to get a woman into bed."

Hearing a foreign woman lecture him on the rules of romance, Gu Feng couldn't help but smile wryly. He was well aware of Hu Hua's intentions earlier, but he simply didn't want to get entangled with him. Moreover, his concern for Xia Wei was just colleague-to-colleague concern, not the romantic interest Andrea assumed.

"Miss Andrea, thank you for the advice, but I think you may have misunderstood," Gu Feng said with a bitter smile.

"Misunderstood?" Andrea looked at Gu Feng curiously and smiled. "Teacher Gu, if you don't mind, come visit me sometime when you're free. I can teach you how to pursue women. You might not know, but many boys at school lost their virginity after listening to my advice."

Hearing Andrea's words, Gu Feng couldn't help but wonder how such an open-minded woman like her had ended up at Purple Maple High School. But then he remembered that even someone like himself, who knew nothing about education, could become a teacher, and he stopped wondering.

Just as Gu Feng was about to decline Andrea's offer and leave, Xia Wei, looking slightly pale, walked out of Ward 103.

When she saw Gu Feng in the lobby, Xia Wei smiled and nodded, as if thanking him for bringing her to the hospital earlier.

"Go on. Based on my experience, if you're willing, you have a 100% chance of scoring with Teacher Xia!" Andrea winked at Gu Feng with a smile.

Gu Feng rubbed his nose somewhat awkwardly and walked toward Xia Wei.

"Teacher Xia, are you feeling better?" Gu Feng asked as he approached.

"Much better. Thank you for what happened earlier," Xia Wei replied. Although her emotions had stabilized, her complexion still wasn't great.

Gu Feng shook his head, indicating it was nothing.

Seeing him shake his head, Xia Wei seemed to remember something and asked with concern, "Teacher Gu, you... you didn't give Ling Wei a hard time, did you?"

Although Xia Wei had had a breakdown earlier, she still had some recollection of what happened. Remembering the conversation between Gu Feng and Ling Wei, she grew worried. Even though Gu Feng hadn't explicitly admitted to the kidnapping incident, Xia Wei had already concluded in her mind that it was him.

Having witnessed Gu Feng's brutal methods, she feared he might have put Ling Wei in the hospital.

Hearing Xia Wei's question, Gu Feng nodded.

Seeing him nod, Xia Wei's face turned pale with panic. "Is Ling Wei okay?"

"Teacher Xia, you should focus more on your own health. Ling Wei did something wrong and deserves to be punished," Gu Feng said seriously. "I just taught him a lesson. He's fine."

Hearing this, Xia Wei felt somewhat relieved and smiled. "That's good. Even though he was in the wrong, I think he didn't know I'm naturally afraid of snakes."

Xia Wei's kindness left Gu Feng at a loss for words. He was certain that Ling Wei had known about Xia Wei's fear of snakes and had used it to scare her.

"Teacher Gu, to express my gratitude, let me treat you to a meal," Xia Wei invited with a smile.

In the lobby, Andrea, hearing Xia Wei's words, frantically winked at Gu Feng, but he wore an expression of hesitation.

"What? Teacher Gu, do you have something else to do?" Xia Wei asked, seeing Gu Feng hesitate.

Gu Feng nodded and said, "I'm sorry, Teacher Xia. I have something to attend to today. Maybe next time."

"Oh," Xia Wei replied, seemingly surprised that Gu Feng had declined her invitation. She looked a bit disappointed but quickly smiled and said, "Then let's make it another day."

Gu Feng smiled and nodded.

In the lobby, Andrea, witnessing all this, couldn't help but think to herself as she saw Gu Feng reject Xia Wei's invitation on the spot: *Is this guy frigid or something?*
