Chapter 710: Fury of the Stormy Sea
by adminThis chapter is an additional update commissioned by the sect leader "Xie Piyi". For now, just one update—the remaining four will come later.
————
A young Fire Dragon teamed up with a Dragon Knight who hasn't mastered the Dragon Aura techniques would naturally lose to an adult Lightgreen Gem Dragon and a Dragon Knight proficient in those techniques. This was perfectly normal.
Liszt wasn’t fazed by this.
Though he wasn’t a proper, lineage-trained Dragon Knight, he dared to provoke three Dragon Knights alone because, by this point in the dragon-slaying battle, everything was already under his control. He wasn’t fighting alone—Acheronides the Archmage was his ace in the hole.
Thus, while executing a tactical retreat against the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight, he continuously adapted and rapidly learned his opponent’s combat techniques, using the opportunity to refine his own Dragon Rider synergy with Leo.
His skills were sharpening by the second, his battle experience skyrocketing, and his understanding of Dragon Knight combat methods and styles growing immensely.
These were not skills one could easily grasp alone or by merely watching others’ battles.
Even without any Dragon Aura techniques, he felt that once he gained more combat experience, creating his own Dragon Aura techniques would pose no difficulty.
“Now you feel fear, don’t you?”
Ka Erluo Violet rode the high of victory. Having firmly seized control of the battle, he didn’t mind taunting Liszt with a few triumphant words: “Weren’t you playing the troublemaker? Now, let’s see you disrupt this. In a dragon-slaying battle, slaying one dragon is ordinary—slaying two is legendary!”
Liszt remained silent, too preoccupied to speak. He had to multitask—passively defending and learning while actively guiding and shifting the battlefield’s position.
Empty taunts couldn’t break his focus.
Back when he hadn’t even ridden a dragon, his battle against the Domain Knight Raging Waves Marquis was also one of brutal suppression. Yet in the end, he turned the tide with his archery. After that, no one recalled how the Marquis had pummeled him—only how he shattered the Roaring Knights and defeated the Domain Knight!
This wasn’t about fair play—it was winner takes all.
Below in the waters, Acheronides watched silently, observing the dragon-slaying battle and locking onto the Lightgreen Gem Dragon’s movements. At a single signal, she would unleash a powerful spell—not to defeat Ka Erluo, but to momentarily immobilize the Lightgreen Gem Dragon, buying Liszt the crucial moment to strike.
...
Deborah Yuhuashi, the RiverSlaying Sword Saint.
Her face contorted with fury as if she had stepped into the role of the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight, muttering to herself: “Yes! Crush him, crush him! Slay the Fire Dragon! Crush the Blue Sapphire!” Watching the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight relentlessly press the Fire Dragon toward the sea, her expression turned savage, her heart pounding with excitement.
Just as the Raging Waves Marquis had become a laughingstock in the Kingdom of the Eagle, she, a young sword saint, had been effortlessly captured by her opponent, her castle seized in an instant, making her the laughingstock of the Roaring Estuary.
The Yuhua Stone name had been dragged through the mud by the uncle and niece pair.
So when Alonso summoned the knights to join the battle, the two eagerly participated, seeking to redeem their disgrace. Yet before they could achieve anything, the Raging Waves Marquis was captured again in full view—ensuring that even if the war was won, the Yuhua Stone Family would never hold their heads high again.
A Domain Knight, captured twice—ridiculous beyond words.
She didn’t know that the Fire Dragon Knight was Liszt. All she knew was that after the Blue Sapphire’s fall, amidst the chaos, rescuing the Raging Waves Marquis might salvage some dignity.
“You Blue Sapphire vermin, none of you can stop your doom! Once this dragon-slaying battle ends, I, RiverSlaying Sword Saint Deborah, will take a thousand knights’ heads to cleanse the shame brought upon my family!”
...
The flagship of the royal swift-sailing fleet.
The Crown Prince barely dared to breathe nervously, afraid even his exhalations might disturb the distant dragon-slaying battle in the sky. His father, atop the Blue Sapphire Dragon, was barely holding his own against the Bronze Dragon Knight’s assault. The Blue Sapphire Dragon bled profusely, its strength fading—clearly on the verge of collapse.
“At least Alonso’s losing steam too—his strikes are getting sluggish. Father can still hold on a little longer!” He only flicked a glance at the clash between the Blue Sapphire Dragon Knight and the Bronze Dragon Knight.
He shifted his gaze to the battle scene where the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight was overpowering the Fire Dragon Knight: "Though I do not know which Dragon Knight you are, Your Highness, I implore you to endure—the survival of the Sapphire Duchy depends entirely on you!"
Beside him,
Nesta · Da Hua Hui Lan was equally tense. Everyone could see that the Grand Duke was at his limit, while the Fire Dragon Knight was also in crisis. The juvenile Fire Dragon was clearly no match for the adult Bronze Dragon, being only half its size.
"Anthony, we’re nearing the shore," Nesta suddenly noticed the fleet approaching the coastline.
"I know."
"A decision must be made. The Fire Dragon Knight can barely hold on—he’s about to crash into the sea. Once submerged, given the Fire Dragon’s elemental nature, its defeat will be brutal."
The Crown Prince raised a hand to stop Nesta, his face etched with conflict and anticipation: "Wait a little longer, just a little longer!"
He was waiting.
Everyone was waiting.
The knights of the Kingdom of the Eagle stood at the bow, gloatingly watching, hoping their kingdom’s Dragon Knights would crush these two Sapphire Dragon Knights—
To conquer Sapphire, to burn, slaughter, pillage, and avenge the humiliation of over a hundred and fifty years.
"Hahaha!"
"You scared me! I thought the Fire Dragon Knight was something fierce, but turns out he’s a pushover!"
"Witnessing the battle of four Dragon Knights, the fall of two dragons—a tale for the ages!"
"Blessed by the glory of knighthood! Our Dragon Knights are invincible!"
"Hail Prince Alonso! Hail Prince Ka Erluo! The flies of Sapphire are doomed to remain flies!"
In stark contrast, the Sapphire fleet was deathly silent.
No one was in the mood to speak.
When the Fire Dragon appeared, they were awed and thrilled, feeling everything had returned to the familiar track—no one could defeat the Sapphire Duchy. But now, the Grand Duke’s dragon was bleeding, and the Fire Dragon Knight was being relentlessly beaten by the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight, a far cry from his earlier spectacle.
"Hold your ground!"
"You cannot die!"
...
Liszt had no idea what the distant onlookers were thinking.
Nor did he care whether they were cheering or cursing, lamenting or urging him on. He was solely focused on executing his plan. After half an hour of battle, even though Leo shed no blood, his aura had severely weakened under Ka Erluo’s unrelenting assault.
But it was all worth it.
Because he had successfully lowered the battlefield to less than a hundred meters above sea level, sensing Acheronides waiting beneath the waves for his signal.
Suddenly, he wrenched Leo into a barrel roll, dodging the silver dragonlance’s thrust.
Then, with a sharp command, Leo let out a shriek that split the air, sending shockwaves across the sea’s surface in a unique rhythmic pattern. Almost instantly, as the sound penetrated the water, his draconic vision caught countless blue-white strands of magic power coalescing beneath the waves, forming a massive, intricate arcane sigil.
In an instant,
countless aqua spikes, blades, and maelstroms surged from the sea, while cyclonic waterspouts materialized in the air. These arcane phantasms had but one target—Ka Erluo, who had been doggedly pursuing Liszt.
Caught off guard, Karló didn’t even have time to react before he and his dragon were struck by powerful magic spells.
Water rings bound the Lightgreen Gem Dragon’s body as water pillars and blades pounded it relentlessly. Invisible torrents, condensed by magic, carried an impact stronger than steel. For a prepared Dragon Knight, dodging such grand yet loosely focused attacks would’ve been easy.
But Karló was completely unprepared.
His eyes widened in shock.
“This is—!”
The cry had barely escaped his lips when the Lightgreen Gem Dragon was sent into a wild spin by the magical blast, dazed and unable to mount any defense.
Just as rider and dragon began to regain their senses, struggling to break free from the lingering magic—
Liszt, his eyes burning with fury, deftly maneuvered Rio through the magical aftershocks and charged straight at the Lightgreen Gem Dragon. The Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword surged with a seething Fire Dragon Aura as it slammed into the dragon’s shoulder. Using Rio’s momentum, Liszt drove the blade deep, tearing open a massive wound.
Hot dragon blood erupted, spraying Liszt head to toe, only to be scorched away by flames, sizzling into ash.
“ROAR—!”
The Lightgreen Gem Dragon bellowed in agony, its scream echoing for miles!
Shaking the blood from the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword, Liszt’s clear voice rang out over the chaos: “Karló, the battle has just begun!”
