Chapter 708: You Can Leave Now
by adminThe triple dragon's bite.
The savage onslaught of three Dragon Knights.
The sky erupted in a maelstrom of spraying dragon blood and surging mana, striking awe into every onlooker. Whether the common knights of the Eagle Kingdom’s fleet or those from the Sapphire Duchy, all stood craning their necks at the ship rails, desperate to glimpse the distant slaying of the dragon.
Many were seeing a living dragon for the first time.
That breathtaking beauty, that powerful and agile form—each feature declared the dragon as the apex predator, an untouchable symbol of unmatched nobility.
Yet today,
a dragon hunt arrived far too soon, spilling its carnage before everyone’s eyes.
Bronze Dragon Knight Alonso Cyclamen and Pale Emerald Dragon Knight Karl Von Violet joined forces to destroy Sapphire Dragon Knight Andrew Sapphire.
The sky ran red with blood!
"Sapphire, your reign ends today!" echoed among the nobles gathered at the bow of the Eagle Kingdom’s flagship.
Some faces twisted with ecstatic delight: "It was long overdue! Those Sapphire pests finally meet their end!" For over 150 years since its founding, the Sapphire Duchy had launched expansion decrees for most of its history, harassing the coastal hinterlands of the Eagle Kingdom like flies and locusts, looting without end.
One could say that because of the Sapphire Duchy’s existence, vast stretches of fertile land along the Eagle coastline had become lawless wastelands.
Mercenaries burned, killed, and pillaged across the region, while the slave trade flourished.
Many lords suffered great losses, dragged into the filth and forced to participate in these crimes, unable to fight back. But now, finally, the hour of vengeance had come. After this slaying of the dragon, the Eagle Kingdom’s knights would drown every Sapphire isle in blood.
"The Sapphire Dragon is about to fall. Witnessing the death of a dragon—this is a gift from the Glory of Knighthood!"
"Andrew Sapphire—a name that shook the seas, hailed as master of the boundless ocean—could he truly fall today? Haha!"
"Drown Sapphire in blood! My lance hungers for blood!"
The knights of the Eagle Kingdom roared with bloodlust, jeering and waiting eagerly. All imagined the coming crimson feast in Sapphire, ready to gorge like carrion crows.
In stark contrast, aboard the Sapphire fleet,
the knights stood pale-faced and heartsick, watching the ongoing slaughter above—the Sapphire Dragon’s wounds multiplying, their Duke’s thunderous bellows echoing through the air.
Their resolve was fracturing, piece by piece.
For years, Sapphire’s knights had grown complacent, sustained by two advantages: superior ships and the protection of the Sapphire Dragon.
But now, their naval edge had vanished—the Eagle Kingdom had assembled a massive fleet.
And now even the Duchy’s last bastion, the Sapphire Dragon, was on the verge of being slain.
Crown Prince Anthony Sapphire went ice-cold with dread.
Standing at the prow, staring toward the horizon, his voice trembled: "What madness let Iron Ridge permit two Dragon Knights from the Eagle Kingdom to break free from the standoff? What are they thinking?"
He understood his father’s plan.
Ever since the traitorous Bull Marquis conspired to slay the dragon, the Sapphire family had foreseen this as part of the Eagle Kingdom’s scheme—and thus prepared countermeasures. At great cost, they had finally elevated the Duke to Dragon Knight, once again shielding the Duchy.
But never had they expected the Eagle Kingdom to stake so much—two Dragon Knights!
"Do they not fear border chaos? Iron Ridge, High Furnace, and the two southern kingdoms all border the Eagle—they need Dragon Knights to guard their frontiers. How could they possibly send two here… for a dragon hunt? This is an act of war!"
"Alonso is stationed at the northern border of the Kingdom of the Eagle, facing off against the Kingdom of Steel Ridge; Carlo is stationed in the western reaches of the Eagle Kingdom, confronting the Blastfurnace Kingdom. Anthony, I don’t know how they managed to pull these two Dragon Knights from the front lines, but it’s done. Now we must decide what to do next."
Nesta · Da Hua Hui Lan stepped forward and placed his hand on the Crown Prince’s shoulder, giving it a firm pat. The prince took a deep breath, trying to steady himself: "Uncle, my father will be fine."
After a moment of silence, Nesta pressed on: "We can't interfere with the dragon battle. Whatever happens, the outcome seems clear. As the heir of the Sapphire family, you must accept your responsibilities."
"I..."
"This isn’t the time for weakness. Once this battle ends, the Sapphires' doom will come swiftly… the glory of knighthood no longer favors us."
Anthony struggled to speak. "Then what should I do?"
"You must have the resolve to cut off an arm to save the body."
"I…"
"Decide now. The fleet is about to make landfall. Whatever choice you make, the Grand Duke won’t blame you—because you now hold the fate of the Sapphire family in your hands!" Nesta fixed him with a stern gaze. The Grand Duke was doomed.
Anthony opened his mouth again, but the words wouldn’t come.
Under Nesta’s intense stare, he finally gave the painful order: "Signal all fleets to scatter and retreat. Abandon Ironhoof Island…"
But before he could finish speaking—
A thunderous, commanding dragon roar cut through the air.
The Crown Prince, Nesta, and the others turned toward the sound. In the distance, flames erupted above one of the ships, revealing the silhouette of a dragon within the fire. A knight whose form was unclear leapt onto the back of a red-black dragon.
With a powerful surge, the pair shot into the sky, racing toward the ongoing two-on-one dragon battle.
"That’s…"
"Another dragon!"
"My God! Another Dragon Knight!"
"A fourth one!"
"It looks like a Fire Dragon!"
"Incredible! Where did this dragon come from?"
The knights aboard the ships cried out in shock—some bewildered, some astonished, some anxious, some elated. Anthony clenched his fists, his heart racing with conflicting emotions: "Who is that? Who is this Dragon Knight? Is he from the Eagle or Steel Ridge? Is he here to help us? Can anyone tell me?!"
Nesta stood dumbfounded, unable to speak.
Like the other knights, he stared wide-eyed at the modest-sized Fire Dragon carrying an unknown rider straight into the battle.
Then—
Someone shouted: "That Dragon Knight came from the Sapphire fleet!" But the voice was quickly drowned by the rising chorus of gasps.
As the new Dragon Knight entered the battle, the Bronze Dragon Knight and the Pale Emerald Dragon Knight—who had been overwhelming Andrew Sapphire—froze in disbelief. Their plan had been flawless. There shouldn’t have been a fourth Dragon Knight in these waters for some time.
And certainly not an unknown Fire Dragon Knight.
Andrew Sapphire didn’t hesitate. He croaked out a desperate plea: "Fire Dragon Knight, please save me!"
Riding atop the Fire Dragon Leo, Liszt activated Dragon-Resonance, calming his restless emotions. He felt triumphant beneath his composed exterior.
This was the kind of dramatic entrance a true Dragon Knight deserved—under the eyes of everyone!
He tightened his grip on the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword and slowly scanned the three opposing riders before declaring, "Dragon Knights of the Eagle Kingdom—get out now!"
