by adminLiszt ultimately decided not to add any new species to the infection list.
He was somewhat concerned that if the invisible dragon's excitement level wasn’t as high as expected, the released bloodline infection magic might not be enough to infect many species.
"Besides, I already have a Fire Drake. Once this little one is born, creating some dragon species shouldn’t be too hard. No need to rush." The invisible dragon, being so hard to catch, should be fully utilized if possible. If it can’t be fully utilized, it’s no big deal.
With the Mini Charmander by his side, he felt confident enough.
By now, he had finalized the list of species to be infected: three pregnant cows, two pregnant sows, ten green-headed duck eggs waiting to hatch, one old laying hen with five chicken eggs, one laying duck with five duck eggs, and... well, the territory didn’t have any geese.
"Make sure the chickens and ducks are the healthiest, and their eggs must be fertilized!" Early the next morning, before the shipment, Liszt reiterated the selection criteria.
"Don’t worry, my lord, these chicken and duck eggs are from the healthiest birds currently incubating. We even brought their nests in cages."
"Take good care of the cows and pigs; don’t let them get hurt."
"Understood."
The cargo ship, packed with all the supplies, raced to Black Horse Island, arriving just before nightfall. Liszt had already reached Black Horse Island on the Flower, having picked a picnic spot for the invisible dragon north of Tea Tree Town, the island’s northern tip.
This area was an extension of Ice Grass Hill, once dotted with shrubs. But after volcanic glass mining, all the shrubs had been removed and burned for firewood.
The reclaimed wasteland already had weeds sprouting, with temperatures near freezing.
The snow had just melted, leaving the area muddy. But Gort, notified the night before, had already brought the serfs to work—they were mainly here to dig tunnels. Liszt had sent the ship overnight with blueprints, calling for a cross-shaped tunnel with a circular one in the center.
The cross-shaped and circular tunnels neatly divided the picnic spot into four areas: northwest, southwest, southeast, and northeast.
Liszt also ordered eight Smokegrass ignition points to be set up above the circular tunnel. He could hide in the circular tunnel and light the ignition points one by one, releasing the Smokegrass scent. Meanwhile, the dining table was placed above the center of the cross-shaped tunnel.
All the food and drinks were set up here.
Liszt would personally sprinkle canned Smokegrass juice around the dining table, while several large pots continuously boiled Smokegrass. The tunnel entrance was right under the dining table, letting Liszt hide inside and move from the cross-shaped tunnel to the circular one.
Wooden houses would be built in the four areas of the picnic spot, housing the sows, cows, chickens, ducks, and green-headed duck eggs, respectively. The bloodline infection magic released when the invisible dragon got excited would be evenly spread.
"My lord, may I ask why you’re building these tunnels and bringing these items?" Blair, responsible for arranging the cooks, curiously inquired.
Liszt brushed it off: "I need to practice advanced mana here. It’s a special training method. No more questions, and keep it quiet, got it?"
Blair straightened up: "Understood, my lord!"
He had no idea what advanced mana was or how to practice it. Whatever Liszt said, he took it as truth. Everyone else believed Liszt’s explanation—the training method of a sky knight had to be different from ordinary knights.
Even with doubts, no one dared to question Liszt.
Thus, including the previous half-day of busy work, a total of three and a half days had completely transformed the picnic spot. The central ground, covered with dry straw, was lined with delicious food, interspersed with jars of fine wine, along with live old bulls, bulls, cows, calves, and calves just born.
Additionally, there were a large number of sealed glass bottles containing Smokegrass juice.
The morning sun shone on the earth.
Liszt came alone to the picnic spot.
Everyone, including his mount, was several kilometers away. He flew high in the sky, quickly checking the four areas waiting for the infection of pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, and eggs, ensuring everything was normal. Then, he used the last bit of Fire Dragon magic power to feed the Mini Charmander.
Ensuring it wouldn’t sense the invisible dragon’s magic power and cause trouble—he couldn’t predict what would happen when dragons met, so he could only try to avoid it.
"Almost ready."
"When I ignite the surrounding Smokegrass, the smoke task will be completed, and the Invisible Dragon will soon arrive. I don’t have much time left."
Liszt took a deep breath.
He put on his mask, activated the Magic Eye, and carefully observed the surrounding sky to ensure the Invisible Dragon had not yet appeared. Then he grabbed a sealed glass bottle, quickly opened it, and splashed the liquid around the dining table. He also opened a sauce made from a mixture of Smokegrass and smeared it on some of the cows.
He then threw tender Smokegrass into a large pot of boiling water.
A foul odor spread, and even with the mask on, Liszt felt his stomach churn, almost vomiting. The cows smeared with the sauce were foaming at the mouth and staggering, nearly fainting from the fumes.
Suppressing the urge to vomit, he splashed the last bottle of Smokegrass juice and took out a fire striker, lighting a large bundle of Smokegrass beside the dining table.
He looked up at the sky; the Invisible Dragon had not yet arrived.
But he didn’t dare to linger. He quickly ducked into the nearby tunnel, picked up the prepared stones, and blocked the tunnel entrance. Then he ran along the tunnel towards the circular tunnel, emerging to light the Smokegrass fire points above. All these actions were compressed into five minutes.
Despite his Sky Knight physique, after such a round of exertion, he was soaked with sweat.
Finally, he hid in a prepared bunker, peering through the window at the dining table not far away and the sky above it.
The air was filled with the smell of Smokegrass.
The flames crackled and burned, thick smoke billowing into the sky, accompanied by the cacophony of mooing cows, grunting pigs, clucking chickens, and quacking ducks.
"Hurry to the banquet, old friend," Liszt had already taken off his clothes reeking of Smokegrass and thrown them into the water tank in the bunker.
He summoned the smoke task.
Seeing the completion prompt: "Task complete, reward: Invisible Dragon’s gem."
"Still the Invisible Dragon’s gem? The dragon-blood-infected beings don’t count in the reward?" Liszt had a slight doubt in his heart but did not dwell on it.
The four dragon milk cows infected with dragon blood last time were not counted in the Invisible Dragon’s gifts—perhaps the bloodline infection needs time to brew.
Before his eyes, the smoke slowly shifted, forming new Serpent Tongue.
As soon as he saw the content of the Serpent Tongue, Liszt’s gaze froze instantly.
"Task: The Invisible Dragon has arrived, its presence fills the sky. For you who are well-prepared, it is a bringer of wealth, and its arrival will also trigger the rampage of the Fire Drake in its seed form. Please calm the Fire Drake. Reward: The rebirth of the Fire Dragon."
