Chapter 336: Blizzard Beasts Line Up
by adminLiszt was fully dedicated to overseeing the construction of his seaside villa, even training his dogs by the sea.
He only paused to greet his sister, Lvera, and reluctantly sold her a small piece of serpent skin for fifty gold coins to make leather armor.
It was practically a giveaway price.
With a piece of skin from a mid-level sea monster for her armor, Lvera left in high spirits.
Meanwhile, Liszt returned to overseeing the construction of his seaside villa, which was progressing rapidly. The two-story villa, with its stone and wooden walls, was being built at an impressive pace. There was no denying how effective the rubber was.
Jo Maya Hammer, now elevated to the position of the sole Architect on Black Horse Island, was working tirelessly to bring Liszt’s imaginative designs to life.
Since Liszt wasn’t an Architect, he didn’t concern himself with structural mechanics.
Joamaya, however, had to carefully consider whether each wall could support the weight of the upper floor—but fortunately, it was just a two-story villa.
There was also an elevated wooden pathway, stretching from the seaside villa to an area that wouldn’t be submerged even at high tide.
Constructed entirely from ironwood thorns, impervious to waterlogging, the joints were sealed using rubber water, making it a bridge several hundred meters long suspended above the beach.
Watching the seaside villa take shape bit by bit, the words "money talks, and he was feeling indulgent" couldn’t help but cross Liszt’s mind.
The manpower and resources required for such a seaside villa were immense, far beyond what an ordinary noble could bear. Fortunately, Liszt’s own territory was rich in resources—rubber, ironwood, stone, and sand were practically free, and the serfs only needed a copper or two per day for their labor.
Using rubber for construction was extravagantly luxurious.
Such a strategically important resource shouldn’t be primarily used for building bridges, roads, or houses.
By the time the seaside villa was finally completed, it was already mid-April. The magic power within the eight young blizzard beasts had grown significantly, and they were ready to cast magic at any time.
This time, with Hiddleston there as their father to demonstrate, they no longer needed Liszt to guide them in casting magic.
However, strict training was still necessary to ensure they followed commands when casting magic.
"Storm, Flame, Rock, Wave, Thunder, Light, Ice, Shadow—line up!" Liszt called out for today's blizzard beasts formation training on the beach.
The eight young beasts immediately stood side by side, looking eagerly at Liszt.
Liszt was pleased with how quickly they could now form a line in a short amount of time.
"Everyone, sit!"
The eight young beasts immediately sat down, sticking out their tongues, waiting for the next command.
"Start reporting from Storm!"
"Woof!"
"Woof!"
"Woof!"
"Howl howl!"
"Woof!"
"Woof!"
"Woof!" "Woof!"
Seven blizzard beasts let out a precise "woof," but one of them let out a meaningless howl, which infuriated Liszt. "Wave, step out of the line!"
Wave immediately drooped his ears and shuffled forward.
Liszt snapped, "Get over there!"
Wave dared not disobey and dejectedly ran to the side of the beach, watching Liszt begin to hand out a piece of jerky to each of the other seven blizzard beasts. He drooled at the sight but didn't dare protest, knowing it would lead to harsher punishment.
Further away, Hiddleston was basking in the sun on the sand, with Tupo nestled beside him.
Tupo had been completely tamed and could occasionally be let out for some fresh air, but she had missed the window for effective training. Now, she could no longer follow commands and was only led around without hurting anyone—or rather, she was just a breeding tool for Hiddleston.
The large wolf dogs in the kennel were sterilized, unable to reproduce with Hiddleston.
Tupo was the last hope, but it seemed she too had become infertile. After giving birth to the eight pups, she had mated with Hiddleston several times, but her belly had remained unchanged.
If they wanted to continue breeding blizzard beasts,
They would have to resort to unethical practices like inbreeding, pairing the five males with the three females among the eight pups, or even involving Hiddleston.
On Earth, many purebred dogs were bred through inbreeding, with offspring mating with their mothers, daughters with fathers, or siblings with each other, and even grandfathers with granddaughters, all to maintain breed purity. Liszt had watched a documentary about it, and most purebred dogs suffered from severe health issues.
So from the start, Liszt had no intention of inbreeding.
The wolf dogs in the kennel were there to satisfy their urges, and perhaps a solution to the reproductive isolation issue would arise in the future.
After two hours of training,
He dismissed the eight pups, and the footmen behind him each led two blizzard beasts back to the castle, where they were tied in their kennels.
Tupo was also led away; the dog prison had been dismantled, and she had a new separate kennel.
Only Hiddleston was allowed to stay with Liszt, obedient to commands ingrained in his mind. He never hurt anyone indiscriminately, so he was rarely chained up.
Following the elevated wooden path, Liszt went straight into the seaside villa.
In the rocking chair of the wooden house on the second floor, mermaid Acheronides was engrossed in a magic book. She only looked up at the sound and gave a sweet smile. "Brother, you're here."
"How have you been living by the sea these days?"
"I'm not quite used to it; it's more comfortable living in a house. In the past, I would hide in a shell all by myself in the sea, but now with a house, I feel like I have my own little world. Thank you, brother, for giving me such a big house!"
Maybe it's just a woman's instinct to love having a home.
Or perhaps it's the allure of civilization; early humans lived in the wild and caves, but as civilization developed, no one wanted to live in caves anymore.
"Have you mastered the Water Wheel Wall?"
"Yes, look, brother." Acheronides put down the magic book and waved her hand gracefully, and a circular water disk immediately appeared in front of her, rotating like a wheel. "The high-speed rotating water current can form a strong defensive shield that can withstand instantaneous bursts of impact."
Liszt drew his Red Blood Sword and tested the strength of the Water Wheel Wall, finding it indeed strong and elastic, pushing the sword away.
Based on his experience, he knew it would take at least one combat move to break through the Water Wheel Wall.
Acheronides, now increasingly scholarly, continued to explain, "According to the information I've gathered from reading magic books, the Water Wheel Wall and water vortex are decomposed forms of the higher-level Water Wave Shield magic. I am already learning the water vortex, and after mastering it, I should be able to study the Water Wave Shield."
"Impressive, my Acheronides." Liszt gave her a thumbs up. The once immature little mermaid was now on her way to becoming a great magician.
He didn't disturb Acheronides' magic studies anymore but set up a magical Fire Dragon nearby.
The seaside house was quite damp, and he intended to use the burning effect of the magical Fire Dragon to drive away the moisture and keep the room dry. It also created a good environment for taking potions—limited to one room, since the magical Fire Dragon acted as a heater, and summer was approaching, which could get unbearably hot.
After using the potion and recording the data, he felt rejuvenated.
Liszt bid farewell to mermaid Acheronides and returned to the castle for lunch. After reading magic books for so long, Acheronides stretched and ate a few raspberries before returning to her shell and swimming toward the sea. Lost in thought, she found herself swimming toward an island covered in mangroves.
