BOOM!
Thunder roared, lightning flashed, and a tempest raged, interspersed with flying rocks.
This was the combined spell unleashed by three Great Magicians, which could be considered fusion magic. The open ground in front of the castle instantly turned apocalyptic.
Unfortunately.
Such powerful magic could only ravage the ground. The Coral Knights, who should have been brutally ravaged, had long since fled the spell's range, hiding in the distance while gawking and marveling at the overwhelming power of the magic.
"What a beautiful sight."
"If time could freeze, I’d love to preserve this scene as a cherished memory."
"Magicians are still formidable."
"Good thing Lord Liszt was prepared, or else we’d be caught in that."
"No matter how strong the power, it’s useless if it doesn’t hit."
Behind the knights, in the logistics team belonging to the squire-knights, five vampires watched the cataclysmic magical display from afar without surprise. Under the cover of night, they too possessed the might of Great Magicians. What truly astonished them was the earlier scene where Liszt shot Clearwater Sword Saint Yeovich with a single arrow.
No matter how much Bloody Mary harped on Liszt’s terror, or how he instantly killed the Pureblood Vampire Black Knight Tubote.
These vampires feared more the fact that Liszt could crush their hearts, yet they were not convinced of his strength. Some even harbored thoughts of assassinating him under the cover of darkness.
But now, many of those thoughts were dashed in an instant.
One-Eyed Uso muttered to himself: *“That was a sword saint, a former Dragon Knight candidate. How could he not block a single arrow? Just how powerful is this lord? Could it be true what Mary said about him killing Tubote in an instant? Impossible, he’s only eighteen and just became a Sky Knight!”*
Night Demon Wimbledon’s mind reeled: *“Has Yeovich’s strength declined? It must be that Yeovich’s strength has declined. Yes, absolutely... But even if his strength has declined, he’s still a Sky Knight. How could he fail to block even one arrow?”*
Scarlet Peggy and Blood Hamil were too shocked to speak.
Only Bloody Mary chuckled darkly: "Peggy, Hamil, Wimbledon, Uso, I didn’t lie to you, did I? The lord’s strength is truly unfathomable."
Then she licked her bewitching red lips, her expression alluring: "Compared to a perverted Pureblood like Tubote, such a lord is worth following... I, Bloody Mary, will definitely establish a vampire family for the lord, becoming his eyes and fangs in the dark!"
How ancient vampires survived is no longer known. In the current world ruled by knights, vampire families exist as vassals to great nobles, calling themselves *‘vampire servants.’*
As vampires, attaching themselves to the strong is a hardwired instinct.
...
Behind Liszt.
The earl also rode a horse, separate from the knights, ready at any moment to engage in sword combat. Watching the upright figure of his second son, his understanding was upended again.
During the sparring sessions, he had already been unable to keep up.
Now, it seemed Liszt’s strength had surged once more, reaching a level where even a sword saint couldn’t withstand a single arrow. If a sword saint couldn’t block one arrow, how many arrows could a perfected Sky Knight endure? And if even a perfected Sky Knight couldn’t withstand it, what kind of existence did Liszt belong to now?
A whirlwind of speculation raged in his heart, countless thoughts swirling in his mind.
But in the end, it all condensed into a sigh, burying all his thoughts deep within—no matter what the future held, the present was what mattered most. Gaining battlefield honors to rise in rank and elevating the Tulip family was his lifelong ambition. Liszt, already enfeoffed, was destined to split from the Tulip family.
The Earl saw no need to intervene in how things would unfold.
Bad luck might bring good fortune, and good fortune might bring trouble—who could predict the future?
In just those few fleeting moments,
the world-ending magic slowly faded away. Liszt's second wave of arrows transformed into three streaks of flame, hurtling toward the castle windows. However, the magicians who had been hiding inside the rooms had already retreated deep into the castle, not daring to show themselves or cast spells again.
Boom!
The arrows exploded at the windows, blowing a huge hole in the wall.
The Clearwater Sword Saint, who had been hanging on the wall earlier, had seized the moment during the great magician's spellcasting to rush into the castle, now cowering inside.
"Shree!"
A whistle sounded—the signal to charge.
The Coral Island Knights regrouped and launched an all-out assault on Sherry Fort. Countless elite Earth Knights encircled the castle, unleashing a relentless barrage of arrows. Their combined mana tore through the ambient magic power in the air around the fortress, creating a magic-dead zone. Only sporadic return fire came from the castle.
"Hiddleston, it's your turn!"
At Liszt's call, the long-awaited Blizzard Beast Unit made its grand entrance. Nine enormous black hounds, surrounded by the knights, positioned themselves before Sherry Fort and began spewing rock spikes and grenades. Each boulder that struck the castle walls crumbled large sections of stone.
The walls crumbled like dry sand, layer by layer.
Before long, one side of the wall collapsed with a thunderous crash. The battle-crying Coral Island Knights poured through the breach like ants. Liszt and Lee William were no exception, charging side by side through the gap.
With his Void-cleaving Greatsword in hand,
Dragon Aura surged violently, forming flaming armor that enveloped his entire body.
The Earth Knights blocking the breach stood no chance. His blade cut seven or eight Earth Knights in half as effortlessly as tofu. The grotesque, almost thrilling sight of their severed halves, still conscious enough to witness their own split forms, carried a bizarre visual impact.
Earl Lee William wasn't about to let his son hog all the glory.
His water-attribute aura erupted just as recklessly, his swordplay sweeping up several obstructing knights. Their bodies twisted unnaturally before being crushed outright by the sheer force of his aura.
With two sky knights leading the charge,
followed by countless elite Earth Knights cleaning up the resistance, Sherry Fort's defenses crumbled in an instant.
The sight of such slaughter
sent one knight's eyes bulging in terror. He fell to his knees begging, dropping his weapon instantly.
With someone taking the lead, the remaining knights knelt one after another, letting themselves be bound and taken prisoner by the Coral Island Knights.
"Where is Yevich?!" Liszt seized a knight by his armor and demanded.
Wrapped in Dragon Aura, the knight felt an overwhelming force pinning him down, as if nailed to the ground—unable to move, unable to breathe.
Gasping, he answered, "M-My lord... no, Yevich went to the castle's rear garden... He... might be trying to escape."
Tossing the knight aside, Liszt called out, "Father, leave this to you. I'm going after Yevich!"
"Don't forget the three great magicians!"
"They won't escape." Though Liszt didn't know where the great magicians were hiding, the knights' aura had completely cut off all magic within Sherry Fort. Without their spells, the great magicians were practically helpless—it was only a matter of time before they were found.
Right now, the priority was capturing Yevich.
He had never taken a sword saint alive before. Once caught, he could at least extract a few spirit bugs from him! If a sky knight was captured, a few gold coins wouldn't cut it for ransom.
No spirit bugs means no going home!
