Chapter 843: The Designated Elder
by admin"Ang chi, ang chi?"
The Grand Sprite was a bit bewildered. Its body was semi-transparent with a pale ochre hue, and atop its head grew a short plant with delicate white blossoms and a small oval fruit at the root—looking just like a potato.
After Liszt used their mental connection to quickly discern the Grand Sprite's thoughts, he immediately understood what kind of Grand Sprite this was.
Indeed, as he had guessed, it was a Grand Sprite born from a plant resembling a potato.
If nothing unexpected occurred, the plant it influenced would bear spherical tubers underground—commonly known as potatoes—much like those on Earth.
This was a Potato Grand Sprite!
If the potatoes it produced shared the same advantages as Earth's—high yield, rich nutrition, and strong adaptability—then this would undoubtedly be a valuable food source. Among spirits, the most important types were magical herbs and grains, making this Potato Grand Sprite immensely valuable.
"Little one, you're safe now. From now on, follow me and live happily as my companion," Liszt sent it a gentle thought.
Upon sensing this, the Potato Grand Sprite instinctively nodded.
The ropes snapped, and the Potato Grand Sprite immediately flew onto Liszt's shoulder, laughing freely, "Haha, ang chi, ang chi, klang chi!"
Soon after, Liszt began binding the smaller spirit bugs and spirit bugs.
There weren’t too many spirits—eight smaller spirit bugs and sixteen spirit bugs. He bound each one and called them to his side. When the Moon Killers had captured these spirits, they had forced them to retract their host plants but had not bound them.
According to the Magic Guild's research, the Moon Killers believed that binding spirit bugs would drain their vital energy.
Some Ancient Wizards even referred to smaller spirit bugs as "oddities," considering them ill omens. As for Grand Sprites, most Moon Killers would likely never see one in their lifetime.
Just as Liszt was binding the spirits,
a group of Ancient Wizards had begun adapting to the invisible dragon's *Dragon Fear* and started rising from the ground, lifting their arms to cast magic and attack Liszt.
"Kassido... Moshiros..."
But before the Ancient Wizards could unleash their spells, Liszt swiftly turned around. With a swing of the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword, a massive fiery-red arc of flame shot forth. In the blink of an eye, it crossed ten meters and cleaved an Ancient Wizard who had begun gathering magic power clean in half.
No blood spilled—only the scent of seared flesh lingered where the arc of flame had passed.
Twisting his body, Liszt unleashed another fiery-red arc of flame, bisecting yet another Ancient Wizard, whose charred remains emitted the same roasted aroma.
Seven or eight slashes later, seven or eight Ancient Wizards lay bisected, their half-bodied corpses littering the ground.
Killing these Ancient Wizards in succession—and with such ease—
instantly struck terror into all the remaining Ancient Wizards and even the strongest warriors resisting the *Dragon Fear*. The fiery-red arcs of flame shattered what little courage they had left after being terrified by the *Dragon Fear*.
Seeing this, Liszt retrieved a notebook from his dimensional ring.
Inside were hand-copied translations between Lunar Language and Serpent Tongue, with phonetic annotations for each Lunar Language phrase and common Serpent Tongue phrases translated into Lunar Language with corresponding pronunciation guides.
He quickly found what he was looking for, then, following the Serpent Tongue phonetics, loudly declared: "Seran O Da Ai!"
The meaning of this phrase was—submit or die.
The Moon Killers cowered under the *Dragon Fear*, none daring to respond to Liszt's threat.
The Listener, struck twice by the *Dragon Fear*, had regained consciousness. He pointed at Liszt and shouted, "Kassido... Moshiros..."
Following him, two more Ancient Wizards raised their hands and pointed at Liszt: "Kassido... Moshiros..."
Still surreptitiously gathering magic, attempting to cast a spell to attack Liszt.
But Liszt was constantly using Magic Eye, casually unleashing two enormous fiery-red sword beams that sliced the two Ancient Wizards in half—seeing the spirit bugs slaughtered by these natives had filled his heart with pent-up fury, which he needed to vent through killing.
Only the Listener was spared from execution. Instead, Liszt walked up to him and smacked him across the face hard with the flat of the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword, knocking out several teeth and swelling half his wrinkled face like a bloated buttock.
Then, he reopened the notebook, trying to translate the meanings of "Casido" and "Mosilos."
Unfortunately, after searching for a while, he couldn’t find the corresponding Lunar Language.
In a rage, he bellowed: "Seran o da ai!"
After a moment of silence, one Ancient Wizard finally took the lead, kneeling on the ground and shouting, "Seran!"—this was a gesture of surrender. Following his lead, the remaining seventy-plus Ancient Wizards knelt one after another, chanting, "Seran!"
However, the Listener and the remaining seventeen Ancient Wizards still growled stubbornly, "Casido... Mosilos..."
The consequence was Liszt swinging his sword again, killing three more Ancient Wizards, then flinging a coil of rope to the first surrendering Ancient Wizard, signaling him to bind the Listener and the fourteen resisting Ancient Wizards. Tied together and lashed with unbreakable knots using Hemp Rope Vine, they were left powerless.
With no more resistance, the entire Moon Killers tribe swiftly bowed to Liszt under the loud commands of the Ancient Wizards.
All the natives knelt, prostrating before him: "Seran!"
Liszt gazed at the sea of Moon Killers—this was a large tribe, numbering in the tens of thousands, with over a hundred Ancient Wizards alone.
Amidst the kneeling masses, he approached the first surrendering Ancient Wizard, pointed at him, and thumbed through the notebook to read aloud: "Lesnar!"
This meant "Listener."
Ecstatic, the Ancient Wizard scrambled forward on his knees, pressing his lips to the toes of Liszt’s silver-white metal boots repeatedly.
Liszt then gestured at the sea of Moon Killers below, instructing the new Listener to ban any further hunting of spirit bugs. Anyone who dared hurt a spirit bug would be executed on the spot. He then signaled for the Listener to disperse the Moon Killers, ordering them to return to work instead of crowding around.
Their submission meant nothing to him; his only intention was to enslave them as serfs.
With the Ancient Wizards slain and the spirit bugs contracted, Liszt turned his attention to the shattered statues worshipped by the Moon Killers. Of the six broken statues, only one remained intact, while the other five were reduced to rubble. One had been half intact but was crushed by the invisible dragon.
The weapon-holding parts of the five ruined statues were missing, leaving only the single intact statue with half a stone sword remaining.
Liszt leaped onto the statue’s sword-wielding arm, channeled Dragon Aura into the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword, and struck hard at the statue’s wrist.
The wrist shattered instantly.
The carved stone sword fell to the ground, breaking into several pieces. One fragment suddenly emitted a dazzling glow of magic power feedback, confirming Liszt’s suspicion—the stone staff sealing the Scepter of Time originated from one of these statues.
He shattered the stone, retrieving a narrow, radiant blade from within.
