Chapter 907: Young Boy, Oh
by admin"Leo, don't be reckless. Team up with Ethan to pin down the orichalcum dragon. I'll be back shortly!" Liszt instructed Ethan and Leo through the Dragon Heart Code.
Immediately, he turned Bard around and flew toward the mountain peak where the orichalcum dragon had been resting—according to the intelligence provided by Duke Piero's rat informants, Andre had always stayed close to the orichalcum dragon, only returning to the logistics team when supplies were needed.
And whether it was Andre or the logistics team, Liszt planned to wipe them all out.
To prevent intel leaks.
Though he wasn’t afraid of open conflict with the Kingdom of the Eagle, delaying the news of the orichalcum dragon’s capture would smooth the path for the Smoke Mission. The mission required recognition from the three great kingdoms for the Fire Kingdom. As long as the Kingdom of the Eagle was dealt with, High Furnace and Iron Ridge shouldn’t pose much trouble.
Once the Kingdom of the Eagle acknowledged it, Liszt wouldn’t care if they turned hostile afterward.
"Acheronides, help me search carefully. Andre shouldn’t be hunting at this time. Hearing the dragon’s roar, he must be hiding nearby, watching."
"Got it."
Crystal White Trace and Magic Eye simultaneously scanned the area around the orichalcum dragon’s lair, leaving no stone unturned.
Though as a power-leveler, Liszt didn’t particularly care about born prodigies, deep down, he harbored resentment toward geniuses. Why did he have to rely on the Smoke Mission to progress rapidly while these geniuses could advance just as quickly by simply eating and drinking?
Soon.
Liszt and Acheronides discovered a tent at the foot of the cliff beneath the orichalcum dragon’s lair.
No doubt, this was where Andre lived. As a genius knight attempting to tame the orichalcum dragon, he had always stayed close, hoping to sway the dragon with his unyielding spirit and earn a chance for a test of wills.
"He’s not in the tent, but the campfire hasn’t gone out yet—he must be hiding nearby!" Liszt instantly assessed, raising his head to gaze at the towering cliff.
Sure enough.
Near the mountaintop, a magic-formed silhouette appeared within the Crystal White Trace’s vision. "This guy must have been drawn by the dragon’s roar, wanting to see what kind of dragons had arrived. Maybe he even hopes to play both sides and tame both."
With a grim smile, Liszt became one with his dragon and charged straight toward the cave entrance on the cliff.
Meanwhile, standing at the cave entrance and gazing at the distant sky where three titans battled over ten kilometers away, André Sapphire was indeed, as Liszt had guessed, couldn't shake the thought of seizing an opportunity. "Fight, fight! Best if the orichalcum dragon and those two young dragons maul each other!"
A severely wounded dragon would be his chance.
"But that dragon seems to be a Fire Drake, and that light green one… could it be the Lightgreen Gem Dragon lost by the Kingdom of the Eagle?" André had been focused on taming the orichalcum dragon and was out of the loop regarding current events. He had only learned during a supply run that a Fire Drake Knight had emerged in the Sapphire Sea.
But that Fire Drake was said to have a wingspan of only twenty meters—much smaller than the one before him now. It had only been a year and a half; a Fire Drake couldn’t have bulked up that fast.
So this one couldn’t be the same.
"Fire Drakes are a force in combat. If not for the Fire Drake Knight’s involvement back then, the Sapphire family would've been wiped out, and my grandfather and father’s vengeance would have been fulfilled. But no need to rush—once I tame the orichalcum dragon, I’ll personally destroy the Sapphire Duchy and fulfill my grandfather’s wish!"
He still remembered when, as a child, he pulled out a gray hair from his grandfather’s head, and his grandfather had said, "All men must die."
"But I don’t want Grandfather to die," young André had shot back.
"No one escapes death… except the Lord of Dragon Domain."
"Then Grandfather shall become the Lord of Dragon Domain."
"Can't be done. Only those of the Sapphire family stand a chance."
"André will help Grandfather become the Lord of Dragon Domain!"
His grandfather then held him on his lap and said kindly, "To become the Lord of Dragon Domain, one must have a dragon. I dare not aspire to such a title, but if I could obtain a shard of a dragon's soul and become an immortal lich, that would be wonderful... Andre, when you become a Dragon Knight, gift me a shard of a dragon's soul as a birthday present."
"Humph! Andre won't just give Grandfather a shard of a dragon's soul—I'll give him an entire dragon!"
As a filial grandson, Andre still remembered the promise he made to his grandfather, the Bovine Marquis, in his childhood.
Watching the two unfamiliar dragons being forced back and overpowered by the orichalcum dragon, his heart raced with hunger. He longed to ride the orichalcum dragon immediately and capture the other two: "Grandfather has already perished, so his wish falls upon my shoulders. I will become both a Dragon Knight and the Lord of Dragon Domain!"
Yet before his fervor could reach its peak, a clear, cheerful greeting suddenly reached his ears: "Young lad, which dragon did you lose—this orichalcum dragon or this Fire Drake?"
"Huh!"
Andre jolted awake, immediately drawing the knight's sword at his side and turning to press against the cave wall—his reaction was undeniably swift.
But when he looked up toward the source of the voice, he was scared out of his wits. A dragon, crystalline like flowing glass, hovered right beside the cave entrance.
On its back sat a knight clad in silver-white armor, wielding a sapphire-blue Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword. His strikingly handsome face wore an amused smirk as he gazed at Andre. Beside the knight stood a beautiful girl wrapped in an enchanted cloak, though she paid Andre no attention, her eyes fixed on the distant dragon battle.
"Who are you?!" Andre forced down his fear and asked, his voice trembling.
Having pledged allegiance to the Kingdom of the Eagle for many years as a Dragon Knight aspirant, he had never seen or heard of such a dragon. Though it wasn't particularly large—only a wingspan of over ten meters—its beauty was breathtaking, like a dew-covered flower.
Danger pulsed from its entire form.
"It seems neither of these dragons belongs to you. Since you didn't lose them, your lurking here suggests foul play—likely plotting to steal my dragon!"
With that, Bard, in perfect sync with Liszt, unleashed a terrifying *Dragon Fear*, crushing the already trembling Andre as if his throat were being squeezed.
Liszt leaped into the cave, seized the struggling Andre, and swiftly locked him in specially crafted mana-sealing manacles. There was little resistance—a mere Sword Saint stood no chance against the overwhelming might of a Dragon Knight.
"Who in blazes are you?! What do you want?!" Andre roared from the ground.
"Tell me where the Kingdom of the Eagle's supply convoy is." Liszt had no time for villain's speeches.
"Who are you?! Do you even know what you're doing?! I'm a Dragon Knight candidate of the Kingdom of the Eagle, backed by the royal family! Even if you're a Dragon Knight, you'd better think twice!"
"Interrogation isn't my forte. I should've brought a blood servant." Liszt shook his head, then abruptly raised the Frostbite Dragon Slayer Sword. "Since you refuse to talk, I'll kill you first and search for the supply convoy myself."
Swish!
The blade flashed.
Andre nearly soiled himself in terror. Faced with a Dragon Knight who struck without mercy, he dared not delay any longer: "Don't kill me! Don't kill me! I'll talk, I'll talk!"
