Chapter 0793 Strange Blood of the Dead City
byChapter 0793: Strange Blood of the Dead City
The strongest among the Ghost Ram Clan was only Lord Gui Yang, but since he had just fought Bighead Tiger, he was barred from fighting again.
Bighead Tiger had no idea why this suddenly appearing young man wanted to help their Tiger Knights, as their Tiger Rider clan was outcasts in these lands.
"Who will you send out?" Qin Yun unsheathed the Soul Sacred Blade. Only the allowance of weapons gave him the courage to step forward.
As long as weapons could be used, he wouldn’t lose.
"Alright, we’ll field a youngster too!" Lord Gui Yang laughed loudly and called out, "Feng Yang, you fight him!"
The Feng Yang who stepped forward looked barely older than a boy, a head shorter than Qin Yun.
However, the horns on Feng Yang’s head were much larger than those of most Ghost Rams.
Seeing this, Bighead Tiger snarled, "Lord Gui Yang, the young man you sent out is way out of his league!"
Clearly, the larger the horns, the greater the strength.
"I’m playing fair with a rookie!" Lord Gui Yang chuckled.
"Hey, young man, get outta here! That guy called Feng Yang is strong—don’t let his youthful appearance fool you. He was brewing for millennia before being born!" Bighead Tiger warned Qin Yun.
Having been nurtured for millennia before birth, it was no wonder he was so powerful.
Instead of retreating, Qin Yun grew even more excited. After all, he had just stepped into the late-stage Profound Realm and hadn’t fought yet.
Even though Feng Yang was likely at the Martial King level, Qin Yun wasn’t afraid in the slightest—it pumped him up.
"Bighead Tiger, though we’ve never met, I’m a huge fan! Today, I’ll do my best to help you kick out these Ghost Rams!" Qin Yun declared.
"You… you respect me?" Bighead Tiger widened his eyes in disbelief. If it were one of his Tiger Rider kin, he’d understand, but this young man was an outsider!
Not just Bighead, but the other Tiger Riders were equally stunned.
"Is this guy nuts? What’s there to respect about the Tiger Riders?" Lord Gui Yang sneered. "Enough talk—let’s fight!"
Feng Yang licked his lips as he stared at Qin Yun. "I really want to eat him. He reeks of tasty energy!"
Feng Yang held a short sword that looked like a piece of junk.
Qin Yun’s Soul Sacred Blade appeared even worse—battered, cracked, and matching his rags, he hardly looked formidable.
"Eat, eat, eat, eat…" Feng Yang suddenly let out a piercing cackle, his body transforming into a crimson blur as he charged at Qin Yun.
"Eat dirt, freak!" Qin Yun cursed and swung his blade forward, ripping the air with a shockwave.
KA-BOOM! KA-BOOM!
The earth split open, and the surrounding collapsed buildings were instantly vaporized into powder by the shockwave.
The force of Qin Yun’s slash covered a wide area, forcing the Ghost Rams to hover in the air to avoid it.
The youth called Feng Yang was also sent flying by the sudden shockwave.
"Eat, eat, eat… I’ll eat you to death!" Feng Yang raged, his eyes bleeding crimson vapor as he flipped up from the ground.
Qin Yun's power left Bighead Tiger and Gui Yangjun stunned.
Because this was a power unlike anything they'd ever seen.
Feng Yang, raging like a madman, wielded a short sword and streaked toward Qin Yun's flank like crimson lightning.
"You're nothing but shit-eating trash!"
Qin Yun sneered and swung his blade, unleashing hundreds of slashes in an instant. The sword energy unleashed by the Soul Sacred Blade carried a chilling soul-devouring force.
A storm of blade shadows surged forth like a sinister wind from the underworld, overwhelming and engulfing the charging Feng Yang.
Though the Soul Sacred Blade was severely damaged, it was still far stronger than ordinary artifacts.
Feng Yang's second assault was blocked once again, and he also felt his soul being gnawed at, causing searing pain.
"Go to hell and choke on shit!"
Qin Yun activated his Radiant Mirage footwork, instantly appearing behind Feng Yang and loosing a vicious overhead strike.
CLANG!
A red horned ring suddenly appeared, colliding with Qin Yun's Soul Sacred Blade!
Qin Yun, gripping the blade tightly, felt searing numbness shoot through his arm and hastily retreated.
"We yield this match!"
Gui Yangjun was no longer as smug as before, nor could he afford to underestimate Qin Yun anymore, as Feng Yang had nearly been killed.
"Bastard!" Qin Yun gritted through the pain, his hand throbbing.
Gui Yangjun said coldly, "Young man, since you're not from the Tiger Cavalry, you'd best tread carefully. How dare you try to kill one of our Ghost Sheep Clan?"
Qin Yun sneered, "That bastard tried to kill me first. Why shouldn't I kill him?"
Feng Yang, who had been taken away, was still shouting furiously at Qin Yun from a distance, still raging in defeat.
Gui Yangjun's voice suddenly turned icy and furious, "Push your luck, and I'll kill you right now!"
Qin Yun laughed loudly, "You damned sheep-faced bastard, come at me if you dare! Bring it on!"
The injured Bighead Tiger quickly rushed over, "Gui Yangjun, you broke the rules of combat just now!"
"Count yourselves lucky!"
Gui Yangjun seethed under Bighead Tiger's burning gaze, then flew away with his people.
Qin Yun suddenly realized that the major tribes of this mysterious wasteland all appeared to harbor some unspoken dread toward the Tiger Cavalry, which was why none dared to act against them.
The Tiger Cavalry weren't overwhelmingly strong—even a lone Emperor Wu could wipe them out—yet no one dared to attack them.
Watching Gui Yangjun leave, Qin Yun cursed, "That dead sheep-head, I'll put that bastard down for good!"
Bighead Tiger said, "Young man, what's your name? We're in your debt!"
"My name is Qin Yun!" Qin Yun glanced at the open city gate and asked, "What's inside? Why are so many people fighting to get in?"
Bighead Tiger sighed heavily, "I don't know either. I only know that what's sealed inside could destroy this wasteland. And our clan has guarded it since ancient times, warding off all who would breach the gate!"
Qin Yun said, "Bighead Brother, I want to go in and take a look. See you later!"
He avoided this city gate; after all, it was the place the Tiger Cavalry clan had been fiercely defending.
"Little brother, you can enter from here!" Bighead Tiger suddenly called out.
"You sure? This is the place you’ve been guarding so hard!" Qin Yun said somewhat uneasily.
"What does guarding matter? The other three city gates are all open, and people can enter from there. Me standing guard here is just for stubborn pride!" Bighead Tiger also understood that their desperate defense of this gate was utterly pointless.
"Bighead Brother, what dangerous things are inside?" Qin Yun stared into the inky blackness beyond the gate.
"I don’t know! But there’s definitely danger. If you really want to go in, be ready to die at any moment!" Bighead Tiger said.
"Bighead Brother, goodbye then!" Qin Yun said before flying toward the huge gate.
Once inside, he felt a bone-chilling gust of wind rush toward him.
The first part of the path was blanketed in black mist, making it impossible to see anything around him.
After carefully flying for a while, he finally broke through the black fog and arrived on a street. The interior was dim and dark, with icy winds wailing and a heavy, rotting stench filling the air.
This place was indeed a city, with many towering, massive buildings.
The wide streets were deserted.
The buildings on either side of the street were covered in black, tar-like sludge.
The streets were also littered with this weird substance. Qin Yun stepped on it and found it resembled sticky mud.
"That’s blood!" Ling Yuner gasped.
"What kind of blood is like this?" Qin Yun poked at it and felt weird energy within.
"I don’t know, but it must belong to a very powerful creature! It must have fought in the air, so this blood splattered down—and it’s been here for many years!" Ling Yuner said.
The fact that this exposed blood could remain preserved for so many years was chilling to imagine!
After all, this place was filled with many Undead Riders, yet none of them had caused this strange black blood to disappear.
Qin Yun turned his head and noticed that the black mud he had stepped on earlier had actually reformed.
"It has crazy healing power!" Qin Yun gasped.
"This is valuable stuff. I’m going to absorb it!" Ling Yuner declared.
A dark mist surged from Qin Yun’s body, generating a powerful suction force that drew in all the scattered black blood around him.
"Yun'er, is it safe to absorb this strange blood?" Qin Yun asked with some concern.
"It’s fine for now—I’ll seal it inside the Dark Sun!" Ling Yuner said. "Xiao Yun, walk around and try to collect as much of this blood as possible!"
The area Qin Yun was in had no other people. Everyone else had entered through the other three city gates.
Those people weren’t wandering around aimlessly either—they were heading straight for the massive semicircular structure at the center.
Even in the dim light, Qin Yun could see that the middle of this cursed death-city held a colossal hemispherical building.
But he didn’t rush inside. That place was undoubtedly the most dangerous of all.
Qin Yun placed some of the collected black strange blood into the third bead of the Nine Sun Spirit Pearl for Yao Fang to examine.
"Qin Yun, where are you? Tell me quickly!" Yao Fang asked.
"I'm in a barren wasteland and arrived at some kind of forbidden necropolis..." Qin Yun recounted the process of entering to Yao Fang.
"Qin Yun, you've come to an extraordinary place!" Yao Fang's voice seemed urgent with alarm. "The place you're in seals the son of the Dragon Immortal Emperor!"
"Dragon Immortal Emperor? His son?" Qin Yun was somewhat shocked.
"The Dragon Immortal Emperor cultivated to sainthood, so he long ago left the Immortal Wastes and journeyed to the Saint Wastes! One of his sons was also exceptionally talented, with the potential to become an overlord of the Immortal Wastes. It's said he later fell to demonic corruption, turning twisted and vile, and was jointly sealed in the Spirit Wastes by multiple powerful figures of the Immortal Wastes!" Yao Fang explained.
After speaking, Yao Fang murmured in confusion, "And that blood... is dragon blood. But it's quite peculiar—though black, it isn't evil! Strange, that fellow should be sealed away, so why is there so much blood scattered here? Could there be something even worse trapped in there?"
