Chapter 0672 Majestic Righteousness
by**Chapter 0672: Unyielding Righteousness**
Demon Tamers were already rare, and those at the Martial King level were even scarcer. The Rune Pattern Hall had only one such expert.
Now that this Martial King-level Demon Tamer had been killed by the Star Demon Overlord, the Rune Pattern Hall’s carefully laid plans had been shattered.
Upon hearing the news, the demi-immortal from the Rune Pattern Hall staggered slightly.
The loss of a Martial King-level Demon Tamer, combined with the earlier waste of several precious Boundary King Talismans, was a devastating blow to him!
The demi-immortals from other factions were secretly delighted but kept their expressions neutral—only Bao Changshou and his group openly showed malicious glee.
“They tried to gain an advantage but ended up worse off!” Bao Changshou remarked.
“Don’t get too smug, Immortal Armory City! Qin Yun is dead!” roared the Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal in fury. “That bastard Qin Yun, with his Flamefury Rune Soul and extraordinary rune talent—now he’s gone too, hahaha…”
Bao Changshou and the others immediately looked stricken with grief.
Chu Binyu raged, “And whose fault is that? You bastard! Just to deal with Qin Yun, you summoned a Star Demon? Look how many disciples you got killed—and those precious Demon Tamers too! You’ve shot yourself in the foot!”
“No matter what, I couldn't let Qin Yun live! That bastard killed three of our Immortal Disciples—I could never forgive him! Even if we suffered heavy losses, as long as Qin Yun died, it was worth it!” shouted the Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal.
“One of those three Immortal Disciples was killed by me, Jian Nanhu!” Jian Nanhu cut in. “Or was that head not an Immortal Disciple's?”
“You—!”
The Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal was so enraged he couldn’t speak. If not for Jian Shitian’s protection, he would have charged to rip Jian Nanhu apart.
“If you’re not convinced, then send stronger Immortal Disciples! I’ll kill another one! Why should Qin Yun be allowed to kill two while I only get one? I’ll kill three—then I’ll surpass Qin Yun!” Jian Nanhu sneered. “I will surpass Qin Yun!”
“Jian Shitian, control your grandson!” the Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal growled. “If he keeps acting recklessly, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
“You should be the one controlling your own youngsters! Those previous Immortal Disciples were all insufferably arrogant! Especially that Lv Lingtian who dared to humiliate a girl from my Jian family before being killed by Qin Yun!”
Jian Shitian exploded in fury. “If that bastard weren’t already dead, I’d never have let you off!”
At that moment, a middle-aged man said quietly, “Elder, since the Demon Tamer we sent inside has died… should we continue breaking through the barrier?”
“Of course! Even if that Star Demon Overlord is dead, I’ll still carve him into pieces!”
The Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal was boiling with rage, and the only outlet left was to vent his fury on the Star Demon Overlord.
Jian Shitian approached Bao Changshou and spoke in a low voice. “Let’s act too. Qin Yun might still be alive… The sooner we break in, the better our chances.”
Bao Changshou nodded.
Soon after, the Sword Immortal Pavilion, Immortal Armory City, Demonmoon Grotto, Demonmoon Island, as well as Han Fenghu and the gray-robed demi-immortal, all began attacking the barrier.
This only further enraged the Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal. Earlier, when he had asked for help breaking the barrier, no one had responded.
But now, to save Qin Yun, they were all joining forces.
“Qin Yun is already dead—don’t hold onto false hope!” the Rune Pattern Hall’s demi-immortal snapped coldly.
Jian Nanhu agreed. Though he didn’t want Qin Yun to die, he trusted what he had seen. He understood perfectly the power of the Star Demon Overlord.
—
After killing the Demon Tamer, the Star Demon Overlord devoured him whole, drawing him into its heart.
Qin Yun and Xiao Yuelan were inside the heart, and they had also obtained the Dao Core.
"The Martial Soul inside the Dao Core is strange—it's pure white!" Xiao Yuelan said.
"Hmm, I wonder what kind of Martial Soul it is!" Qin Yun quickly performed the soul-refining technique to extract the Martial Soul from within.
Once extracted, it was indeed a pure white Martial Soul.
"Xiao Yun, try fusing with it!" Xiao Yuelan smiled. "If this Martial Soul has a special ability, I can mimic it too!"
"Alright!"
Qin Yun immediately merged the pure white Martial Soul into his Mingyang Dao Core.
Soon after, the white Martial Soul was easily absorbed by the Mingyang Martial Soul.
Although the Mingyang Martial Soul successfully absorbed the white one, its color remained black.
Ling Yuner, as the Mingyang Dao Spirit, was the first to sense the ability of the Martial Soul Qin Yun had absorbed.
"Is this... could it be the *Hao Ran Zhengqi* Martial Soul?" Ling Yuner blurted out in surprise.
"What? That name sounds so strange!" Qin Yun asked, puzzled. "What exactly does this Martial Soul do?"
"It releases energy infused with Righteous Qi, capable of repelling evil spirits."
"It’s a special force used against malevolent beings. Think of it like this—evil spirits are dry grass, and Righteous Qi is fire. A small spark can ignite an entire field of dry grass!"
"How effective it is depends on the individual. But in short, when you channel power through this Martial Soul, it will be devastatingly effective against evil spirits. Also, those dark entities won’t be able to possess your body."
Ling Yuner explained excitedly.
Qin Yun quickly relayed this information to Xiao Yuelan.
Upon hearing it, Xiao Yuelan looked intrigued and immediately said, "Xiao Yun, release some of that Righteous Qi energy—let me see if I can mimic it!"
Qin Yun promptly channeled the Righteous Qi Martial Soul through the Mingyang Martial Soul, forcing out a surge of pure white energy.
Reaching out, Xiao Yuelan touched it, then took hold of Qin Yun’s hand.
"I've got it!"
Xiao Yuelan tried again and succeeded in emitting identical pure white energy.
"Yuelan, you're way better than that little Yuemei—you can mimic others' powers directly!" Qin Yun laughed.
"Xiao Yun, we should probably head out now!" Xiao Yuelan chuckled, brushing his face lightly.
"Yeah!"
Qin Yun held Xiao Yuelan’s hand, and together they activated the Piercing Mystic Art, exiting the Demon Star Overlord’s body.
As they emerged, Qin Yun also took the star core with him. From outside, he could still control the Demon Star Overlord through it.
Kaboom!
A thunderous boom suddenly echoed through the sky.
"The barrier broke!" Xiao Yuelan exclaimed.
Qin Yun quickly retrieved the Nine Sun Divine Hammer and placed the Demon Star Overlord inside the second bead of the Nine Sun Divine Pearl.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
When the barrier shattered, violent energy clouds erupted, colliding with each other and producing thunderous booms, accompanied by flashes of lightning.
Many disciples were still inside the barrier. Seeing it destroyed, they swiftly took to the air.
Qin Yun and Xiao Yuelan followed the group of disciples, quickly ascending into the sky.
The elders from various factions in the air, having just broken through the barrier, immediately sensed many disciples flying out.
"That's... Qin Yun's aura!" Chu Binyu exclaimed joyfully. "Qin Yun ain't dead!"
Many people saw Qin Yun flying out from the dark ink-like clouds.
Jian Nanhu also stared at Qin Yun in disbelief.
The people from Immortal Armory City cheered loudly.
The demi-immortal from Glyph Temple looked like he'd eaten something rotten.
He had gone to great lengths, summoning the Demon Star and even sending Immortal Disciples, all to deal with Qin Yun.
But now, the Glyph Temple’s Immortal Disciple was dead, several Demon Tamers had perished, yet Qin Yun came out unharmed.
So all the Glyph Temple’s efforts against Qin Yun were for nothing, and they suffered heavy losses.
"Qin Yun, you bastard, how are ya still alive? This don’t make no sense!" Jian Nanhu rushed over and asked sharply.
"Ain't ya the one who told me not to die? Said somethin’ 'bout beatin' me first?" Qin Yun burst out laughing. "Jian Nanhu, if a good-for-nothing like you ain't bought the farm, how could I possibly die?"
"What did ya say? I'm a good-for-nothing? Go to hell!" Jian Nanhu flew into a rage. "Fine, since you saved me, I’ll let it go this time!"
"Qin Yun… why won't ya die?!" The Glyph Temple’s demi-immortal roared furiously from afar.
Bao Changshou and others quickly moved to Qin Yun’s side to protect him.
"Cuz… I’m fast!" Qin Yun chuckled. "Actually, I should thank that old man with a horsetail whisk. I was swallowed by that so-called Demon Star Overlord, but after the whisk-wielding old man fought it, I was miraculously spat out!"
"Otherwise, I might’ve really died!"
Qin Yun said this just to piss off the Glyph Temple demi-immortal.
"You… you deserve to die!" The demi-immortal was fit to burst.
"If I deserved to die, I’d be long gone!" Qin Yun smirked. "Heaven punishes bastards like you!"
The fact that Qin Yun survived was actually thanks to the Glyph Temple’s Demon Tamer, the Martial King.
This made many people laugh to themselves.
The members of that Glyph Temple faction all wore expressions as if they'd bitten into something bitter.
The gray-robed demi-immortal declared, "This unofficial Martial King Tournament is now canceled! We will reschedule it in the coming days. Please await our announcement patiently!"
"This wasn't the outcome we wanted!"
Bao Changshou was much more relieved to see Qin Yun return, his face lit up with a big smile.
He had been deeply worried about Qin Yun, and also feared being blamed by Bingxing.
"Let's go back!" Bao Changshou called out.
Before leaving, Qin Yun glanced at the disciples of Demonmoon Island in the distance, among whom was Xiao Yuelan wearing a mask.
Xiao Yuelan’s eyes twinkled playfully as she silently bid him farewell.
Yue Bufeng said, "Though we faced many dangers, this journey was totally worth it. If nothing goes wrong, I should be able to break through to the Mid-Stage Spirit Martial Realm thanks to those Star Dao Pills!"
"Well said! Wow, Qiweng Hall finally did something right for a change!" Jian Ruyan laughed heartily.
This made the quasi-immortal elder from Qiweng Hall look even more displeased.
Indeed, many disciples had collected Star Dao Pills by slaying the Giant Star Demons, and now that they had survived to return, they headed back with their elders, all smiles.
