Chapter 0914: Master’s Treatment
byChapter 0914: Grandmaster Privileges
The red-clad man was named Gao Jinglin. His grandmother was an elder of a minor sect, and his grandfather was the sect leader of that minor sect. The old woman mentioned earlier was his grandmother, which was why he had obtained an examination invitation.
Gao Jinglin looked at Hong Mengshu and asked, "Miss Hong, have you chosen your attendant yet? I have a distant cousin who’s quite capable. I can recommend her to you as your attendant to enter the Hundred Towers Sect with you!"
A blue-clad woman sitting nearby chuckled, "Who says Meng Shu will even pass the test? Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Du Kexuan, how could I possibly fail the assessment?" Hong Mengshu retorted angrily, she huffed. "Wait until you pass before mocking me!"
Du Kexuan had an oval face and was strikingly beautiful.
Her eyes always carried a trace of disdain when she looked at others.
She was also at the Midstage Martial King Realm. It was said that her ancestor was a Half-Immortal, and she had benefited from his influence.
Her sect was established by a prominent family and held considerable prestige in the Hundred Towers region.
Thus, she looked down on her peers, believing herself superior due to the Half-Immortal’s guidance she had received since childhood.
The other man, dressed in black, had a slender face with fair, flawless skin—a strikingly handsome man. He glanced at Yu Shutian and said, "Miss Yu, is that friend behind you your attendant? Is he trying to sneak into the Hundred Towers Sect? Ditch him, and I’ll recommend a better one for you!"
The black-clad man was named Fang Fengbao, hailing from the Fang family, a relatively influential clan in the area.
Yu Shutian smiled faintly. "No need, my friend here is just fine."
Hong Mengshu interjected, "Why are you all pushing attendants on us? Why not keep them for yourselves? Or do you doubt your own chances of passing the assessment?"
Fang Fengbao laughed. "Miss Hong, don’t mock us for failing the assessment! From what I know, you’ve only just entered the Midstage Martial King Realm not long ago. Trying now is just a waste of a slot!"
Du Kexuan sneered. "Hong Mengshu, if you fail, you can always pay some purple crystal coins to become my attendant. I’ll take you into the Hundred Towers Sect!"
Gao Jinglin chuckled. "Miss Hong, for Miss Yu’s sake, I won’t charge you any coins to be my attendant!"
They mocked Hong Mengshu freely but didn’t dare cross Yu Shutian, knowing she wasn’t someone to trifle with—especially since Young Master Chu had openly declared his intention to marry her.
Qin Yun had enough and said, "Meng Shu is also my friend! That’s going too far!"
"You’re Hong Mengshu’s friend, yet you’re following Yu Shutian instead. Even you must think she can’t pass the assessment!" Gao Jinglin laughed mockingly.
"Don’t mind them!" Hong Mengshu snapped angrily.
"A nobody without an invite dares lecture us? How arrogant!" Du Kexuan scoffed. "A guy like this would be dead meat in the sect anyway!"
Yu Shutian frowned, worried that things might escalate and provoke Qin Yun. She whispered, "Let’s go back."
Yu Shutian and Hong Mengshu stood up and headed back to their quarters.
Qin Yun also ignored the three youths and retreated to his own room.
...
About half an hour later, Qin Yun heard movement outside and went to check.
He saw Yu Shutian and Hong Mengshu dressed elegantly, preparing to attend the trade gathering with Granny Wang.
"You’re no Emperor Wu, nor do you have an invitation card. You can’t go. Just stay here and sleep it off!" Gao Jinglin taunted.
"Like I care!" Qin Yun yawned, closing his door to rest.
Hong Mengshu and Yu Shutian were just following Granny Wang; they had more than enough purple crystal coins and wouldn't be buying anything.
Before long, the suite became quiet, leaving only Qin Yun inside.
Feeling a bit stifled, Qin Yun also wanted to see what kind of trade fair it was.
"Some lousy trade fair is no match for Qin Yun!" Qin Yun smiled faintly, then jumped off the bed, left the suite, and bounded down the stairs.
While going down the stairs and passing by a doorway, a woman suddenly rushed out in a hurry.
Qin Yun accidentally bumped into her.
The woman was dressed in an elegant green gown, with delicate and charming features, followed by a group of attendants, radiating the aura of a noble young lady.
"You bastard, how dare you bump into our young lady? Looking for death, huh?" a burly man roared at Qin Yun.
Qin Yun glanced at the young lady and found her oddly familiar—she was none other than Senior Old Feitian’s granddaughter, Tian Siyu.
"What's going on?" A voice came from inside the door, and out walked a youth in yellow robes—Tian Dajiang.
Qin Yun had used simple disguise techniques. Though he wasn’t wearing a fake beard, his current look was quite different from his original one.
"He... he bumped into me!" Tian Siyu pointed at Qin Yun.
"Xiao Yu, don’t stir up trouble!" Tian Dajiang said under his breath, pressing down Tian Siyu’s hand. "Remember last time? We provoked a big shot! How did Grandpa discipline me afterward?"
Tian Siyu gritted her teeth and held back.
It seemed their last encounter with Qin Yun had left them thoroughly chastened.
"What a coincidence to meet you two here, friends!" Qin Yun chuckled, seeing the siblings’ respectful attitude.
"You are..." Tian Dajiang’s eyes nearly popped out in shock upon hearing Qin Yun’s familiar voice.
"Gr-Grand... Grand Master..." Tian Siyu paled, terrified that she had almost crossed Qin Yun again—she remembered all too well the dire consequences of crossing him.
"Friends, let’s talk inside!" Qin Yun said with a smile.
Tian Dajiang called out the bodyguards to stand guard outside, then respectfully invited Qin Yun in.
The bodyguards were astonished, unsure why Tian Dajiang treated this man with such deference.
Inside was a lavishly decorated suite, far more luxurious than Hong Mengshu’s.
After all, Tian Dajiang and Tian Siyu’s grandfather was a Half-Immortal, in a league far above Granny Wang.
Once inside, Tian Siyu and Tian Dajiang beamed ingratiating smiles, treating Qin Yun, the Grand Master, with utmost respect.
"How is Senior Old Feitian? I didn’t expect him to be staying at Huaxian Tower too!" Qin Yun remarked cheerfully.
"Grand Master, Huaxian Tower is actually owned by our father. Had we known you were staying here, we would have rolled out the red carpet for you!" Tian Siyu murmured nervously. "I’m so sorry for bumping into you earlier!"
"It wasn’t your fault—I was the one who bumped into you, young lady Siyu. My mistake!" Qin Yun replied.
"No, no, it was my fault!" Tian Siyu, terrified of Qin Yun, eagerly shouldered the blame.
"Let’s not dwell on it. No harm done, right?" Qin Yun chuckled. "Don’t be afraid of me—I’m all about fairness!"
"Yes, yes! Grandpa never stops singing praises of the Grand Master’s character and conduct!" Tian Dajiang stood beside Qin Yun, too awed to sit, as in his eyes, Qin Yun was a figure on par with his grandfather.
Tian Siyu was just as cautious, afraid to speak out of turn, and even trembling slightly.
Qin Yun, seeing how reverent and fearful these two youngsters were toward him, felt quite pleased. He took out two talismans and said with a smile, "These are small gifts for you—recovery talismans! If you suffer severe injuries, whether internal or external, just apply them to your wounds, and you'll recover quickly!"
"Thank you, Grand Master!" Tian Dajiang and Tian Siyu, looking utterly starstruck, quickly bowed in gratitude, their excitement evident.
They now truly realized how foolish they had been before, to have crossed someone as magnanimous as a Grand Master!
They also understood why their grandfather had gone to such lengths to please someone like him.
"By the way, Miss Siyu, you were rushing earlier. What were you rushing to do? Any trouble? Do you need my help?" Qin Yun asked.
"Grand Master, you can just call me Siyu!" Tian Siyu said hastily, her voice trembling slightly. "I... I was in a hurry to attend an exchange!"
Qin Yun's eyes lit up. Tian Dajiang and Tian Siyu likely didn’t have invitation cards, yet they could enter the city and even attend the exchange—clearly, their grandfather had used his connections.
"Don’t call me Grand Master anymore! If you don’t mind, you can just call me Elder Brother!" Qin Yun said with a laugh.
"Elder Brother!"
"Elder Brother!"
Tian Dajiang and Tian Siyu called out happily and excitedly.
"Dajiang, Siyu! I’d like to attend that exchange too, but... I don’t have an invitation card, and I’m not at the Martial Emperor Realm. How can I get in? How many purple crystal coins would it take?" Qin Yun asked.
"Elder Brother, you’re joking! That’s nothing! Our Tian family is in charge of organizing that exchange—we’ll get you in ourselves!" Tian Dajiang said with a laugh.
"Elder Brother, with your standing with Grandpa, forget just entering the exchange—even if you trashed the whole thing, Grandpa wouldn’t say a word!" Tian Siyu said proudly. "Let’s hurry inside. Grandpa is probably waiting for us!"
"Alright!" Qin Yun chuckled.
*He had originally planned to sneak in, but now, with these two younger siblings, he could enter effortlessly.*
Only now did Qin Yun realize just how influential Old Feitian was in Tianjiao City.
The Phantom Spirit Tower, the finest and most luxurious establishment, was part of Old Feitian’s family business.
Qin Yun followed Tian Dajiang and Tian Siyu into a sky carriage, which soared directly into a sprawling mountain estate and landed in a garden.
"Elder Brother, the exchange is right over there!" Tian Siyu pointed to a plaza not far away, then added, "Feel free to look around first. We’ll go inform Grandpa and announce your arrival!"
"Dajiang, Siyu! When you see Old Feitian, tell him not to draw attention to my being here," Qin Yun said.
"Understood!" Tian Dajiang replied before excitedly rushing off with Tian Siyu to find their grandfather.
*After all, bringing a Grand Master like Qin Yun would surely make their grandfather very happy.*
Qin Yun quickly made his way to the plaza where the exchange was taking place.
The plaza was enormous, divided into several sections.
The exchange was essentially a gathering where people showcased wares they wished to trade, hoping to find worthy exchange partners.
As soon as Qin Yun arrived, he spotted Yu Shutian. He walked over and asked, "Xiao Tian, where’s Meng Shu?"
"She went over there with Granny Wang! I’m just here to scout for starstones!" Yu Shutian wasn’t surprised to see Qin Yun—after all, he had once gained entry to the Phantom Spirit Academy.
Noticing Gao Jinglin approaching, Yu Shutian whispered, "That pest is coming over. Make yourself scarce! Don’t give him cause to start trouble!"
