"Is this a Dragon-spider?" Qin Yun wondered.

"Most likely! There might be something stored here that caused the spiders hiding inside to evolve over the years!" Ling Yuner chuckled. "Xiao Yun, these spiders haven’t noticed you, so relax!"

Qin Yun did feel much more at ease. He could sense that the Dragon-spiders passing by earlier had auras of Dao Pills in their bodies—the swallowed organs and Dao Pills were stored in their bellies.

He marveled inwardly at how this world could produce such bizarre creatures, something even the ancestors of the Dragon Family could never have foreseen.

Suddenly, a sudden commotion erupted. Qin Yun sensed the spiders darting upward at incredible speed.

Through his Spirit Eye Pearl, he saw swarms of spiders disappearing shadow-fast into the air, lunging toward two descending middle-aged men.

The two were Martial Kings from the Dragon Family. As they descended, they lashed out with a downward punch.

Living up to their reputation as Dragon Family Martial Kings, they struck swiftly the moment they sensed movement.

Their attack finally connected!

Scores of them were knocked down, buried under shattered crates.

Qin Yun’s hiding spot was also affected, forcing him to use his Piercing Mystic Art to escape and hide elsewhere.

Xiao Yuemei seemed to have fainted, entering a trance-like state of merging with the Sacred Pupil.

Gritting through blinding pain in his head, Qin Yun observed the situation.

The Dragon Family members had also glimpsed the Dragon-spiders—though only for an instant, it was enough for them to see their horrifying appearance. Their faces turned ashen-faced with terror.

The Dragon Family’s Martial Kings quickly ascended back into the air.

"It’s... it’s an ancient Poison Dragon Spider!" one Martial King cried out in alarm.

"Ancient Poison Dragon Spider? How could such a thing be here?" The two Half-Immortals went rigid upon hearing this.

"I don’t know, but I remember it clearly—eight legs with dragon claws, a body covered in dragon scales, jet-black from head to tail... and legends say Poison Dragon Spiders move incredibly fast!" the Martial King explained.

Though the swarm that attacked earlier failed to devour the Martial Kings and was knocked down, they didn’t seem injured—proof of their frightening durability.

"Elders, what should we do now? Hunt the Poison Dragon Spiders or leave this place?"

"Those Poison Dragon Spiders must still be in their immature phase—their bodies aren’t venomous yet!" one Half-Immortal hesitated. "But they’re still tough to deal with. They’re impervious to both fire and water, and possess uncanny vitality and regenerative abilities!"

Qin Yun felt a chill of realization. He had assumed the Dragon-spiders were a result of natural mutation, never expecting them to be a primordial species.

Though he now knew they were called Poison Dragon Spiders, he was still puzzled—why hadn’t they devoured the Sacred Pupil all these years?

Strangely, it seemed like the Poison Dragon Spiders were protecting it.

Qin Yun hadn’t fully merged with the Sacred Pupil yet and had no idea what powers it held.

Just as the Dragon Family were torn between whether to hunt the Poison Dragon Spiders, bloodcurdling screams rang out from the Martial Lords in the air—their bellies were violently ripped open, their organs and Dao Pills gone.

The Poison Dragon Spiders had struck from above without warning!

The Dragon family members stopped spectating and scrambled to flee.

"I don’t know yet... The Sacred Eye’s base powers are already strange. When combined with the user’s energy or Martial Soul, its powers can vary. My Sacred Eye’s abilities might differ from yours!" Xiao Yuemei said.

Though Qin Yun’s head ached terribly, he dared not rest, unsure if more Poison Dragon Spiders were still around.

He then told Xiao Yuemei about the Poison Dragon Spiders.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yuemei was stunned and took out her mirror.

Qin Yun looked at the mirror and saw a glowing dot nearby.

"The spirit reading your mirror shows isn’t from the Sacred Eye—it’s something else!" Qin Yun exclaimed in surprise.

"The Spider Queen of the Poison Dragon Spiders is here!" Xiao Yuemei said urgently through mental transmission. "Earlier, she was beside the Sacred Eye, likely absorbing its power!"

"Can’t the Spider Queen devour the Sacred Eye?" Qin Yun found it odd.

"The Sacred Eye chooses its master—even the Spider Queen can’t consume it!" Xiao Yuemei transmitted. "Brother, use the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron to capture her!"

Qin Yun held Xiao Yuemei back, unwilling to let her approach, and transmitted, "Yuemei, why didn’t the Spider Queen attack us earlier?"

"Maybe because you took out the Nine Sun Godhammer and the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron!" Xiao Yuemei speculated.

Indeed, Qin Yun’s Nine Sun Godhammer and Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron packed serious intimidation.

Xiao Yuemei wanted to capture the Spider Queen but Qin Yun kept a firm grip on her.

Qin Yun transmitted to Yao Fang, filling her in on the Poison Dragon Spiders.

After hearing the details, Yao Fang responded, "Follow Yuemei’s suggestion and carefully capture the Spider Queen! There must be something on you that has her spooked—she didn’t attack you and seems to be avoiding you!"

Qin Yun pondered what on him could intimidate the Spider Queen.

"That strange blood from the Forbidden Dead City!" Ling Yuner said. "That blood belongs to the Dragon Immortal Emperor’s son—a purebred Ancient Dragon Sovereign blood! Poison Dragon Spiders are still draconic creatures, so they fear that blood on you!"

"Is that blood really so miraculous?" Qin Yun was skeptical.

"Give it a shot. When I release that blood, the Spider Queen won’t dare attack you!" Ling Yuner said.

Qin Yun hesitated briefly before joining the fight.

The members of the Long family had already been chased and scattered by the Poison Dragon Spiders, so Qin Yun and Xiao Yuemei dared to advance.

Clutching the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron, Qin Yun was ready to act at any moment.

Xiao Yuemei pointed in the direction and followed cautiously at his side.

Qin Yun wasn’t in the best condition, as his head was still pounding, but he was determined to capture the Spider Queen.

Though both Qin Yun and Xiao Yuemei had obtained a Saint Eye, their eyes remained normal in appearance, unlike Lan Suyao’s, which had turned sapphire-blue.

However, Qin Yun could still sense that one of Xiao Yuemei’s eyes contained immense energy.

A huge shadow suddenly shot up.

The Spider Queen of the Poison Dragon Spiders had appeared—a giant spider several yards long, its eight legs resembling terrifying, powerful dragon claws, its entire body completely golden.

What shocked Qin Yun and Xiao Yuemei the most was that the Spider Queen’s midsection was human-shaped, wrapped in light golden silk threads, giving the impression that there was a person inside.

“This Spider Queen is about to transform into human form!” Xiao Yuemei exclaimed.

At that moment, Qin Yun hurled a glob of black blood—the strange blood he had obtained from the Forbidden Dead City.

As the blood struck, the Spider Queen’s body trembled slightly, and she hastily retreated.

Qin Yun felt a surge of joy—just as Ling Yuner had said, the strange blood terrified the Spider Queen.

Without delay, Qin Yun used the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron to pin her down.

The Spider Queen probably wasn’t that powerful, or she would have already attacked and killed the Martial Kings earlier. The smaller spiders she had released were no match for them either.

With the Spider Queen sealed by the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron, Qin Yun and Xiao Yuemei breathed easier.

“Brother, do you have a Beast Control Ring or something? Quickly take it out and subdue this Poison Dragon Spider!” Xiao Yuemei urged.

“Well… I actually don’t,” Qin Yun admitted. He had a few beast companions—the Little Jade Rabbit and Yang Yang—but they had willingly followed him without needing any taming rings.

“Then hurry up and forge one!” Xiao Yuemei laughed.

Qin Yun grimaced. “Your brother’s head is killing him!”

“Let me massage it for you…” Xiao Yuemei stood on her tiptoes, gently massaging Qin Yun’s head with a smile.

Qin Yun and Xiao Yuemei flew away from the giant crate and found a cave to rest in.

Inside the cave, Qin Yun finally slept, allowing the Saint Eye to fully integrate with him.

Now, he only felt that his left eye was different—as though it housed tremendous power that rapidly absorbed the strength from his entire body.

Yet, when he tried to release energy through that eye, he couldn’t channel it properly.

“Xiao Yun, you still can’t fully control the Saint Eye yet. You’ll need time to adapt to it,” Ling Yuner said. “Hurry and forge a Beast Control Ring to subdue the Spider Queen, then have her call back her spiderlings!”

Those tiny spiders were incredibly stealthy and could even consume Dao Pill Martial Spirits.

Qin Yun thought that if he could control those little spiders, it would definitely come in handy later.

He quickly took out materials and the Nine Sun Divine Hammer, then began crafting a Beast-Control Ring.

"Would a Dao Artifact-level Beast-Control Ring be necessary?" Qin Yun didn’t possess Dao Runes for beast control, only Mystic Runes, but he did have Star and Moon Runes for subduing beasts.

For now, Qin Yun could only use Star-Moon Mystic Runes to make the Beast-Control Ring. He’d have Yao Fang help slip it onto the Spider Queen later. If it didn’t work, he’d just figure something else out.
