Chapter 0845: Long Xieling
byChapter 0845: The Evil Spirit Long Xieling
Among the group, the happiest were easily Qin Yun and Xian Rujing.
Qin Yun had scored a huge haul of Imperial Mother Stones, while Xian Rujing had taken the majority of the Imperial Source Stones.
The elders in the group were fuming, as they had to split the meager share of Imperial Source Stones among so many people, leaving them with almost nothing.
But they had no choice—since Xian Rujing had Qin Yun extract the Imperial Source Stones, she’d done the heavy lifting, so of course she got the biggest cut.
A golden rope was still tied around Qin Yun’s waist.
"Dog, you better lead us right, or you’re toast!" Long Chuanwu sneered. "With that rope tied around your waist, how’s it feel to be on a leash, mutt?"
Long Chuanwu couldn’t lay a finger on Qin Yun, but he sure could run his mouth.
Qin Yun was thick-skinned, and since he had obtained a large number of Imperial Mother Stones, he didn’t lose his temper.
"Long Chuanwu, you ever stop to think? Out of everyone here, you’re the most useless!" Qin Yun chuckled. "The Half-Immortals and Emperor Wu pull their weight, and Xian Rujing can detect Imperial Source Stones. What about you, Long Chuanwu? You’re just baggage—all bark, no bite!"
"Of course, my usefulness is the greatest! I dare say, bet most here would toss you to the wolves before risking me!"
Though the Half-Immortals and Emperor Wu didn’t say it aloud, they wholeheartedly agreed with Qin Yun’s words.
Long Chuanwu was deadweight, plain and simple. Though he was a young Martial King, he was still far too weak in this place.
Long Chuanwu was so furious he itched to wipe that smirk off Qin Yun’s face, but seeing Xian Rujing present, he could only suppress his anger.
"You’re just a tool to us, mutt! Once you’re no longer useful, you’ll be worse than garbage!" Long Chuanwu roared.
"If I’m really a pile of dung, then what are you? Even worse than dung, hahaha!" Qin Yun burst into laughter.
"Chuanwu, shut it!" an elder barked.
Long Chuanwu had no choice but to swallow his rage.
Qin Yun took point. On the left side of the hall, there was a door.
When he opened it, behind it lay a corridor drenched in blood.
"This reeks of trouble!" Qin Yun took out a stone and tossed it forward.
Before the stone could land on the bloody path, a black tentacle lashed out, snagged the stone, and pulverized it.
"It’s dangerous here!" Qin Yun yelled.
A Half-Immortal, seeing that nothing had emerged when Qin Yun opened the door, quickly approached.
"Stay off the ground, and those things won’t come out!" the elder said.
Qin Yun had no choice but to hover and float across from above.
The corridor was long, stretching over a hundred meters.
Qin Yun quickly passed through it without encountering any danger.
The elder holding the rope followed closely behind, floating across as well.
Once the coast was clear, the rest followed.
After passing through the corridor, Qin Yun turned a corner and soon encountered a stone door, which he shoved open.
Inside the stone door was a spacious chamber glowing red, measuring over fifty meters in length and width.
As soon as Qin Yun entered, he saw many people strung up upside-down in the red-lit chamber.
Most of them were elders, their feet bound, heads dangling, and bodies trussed up.
Qin Yun carefully examined the chamber and was instantly horrified—each of the suspended individuals had a black, hose-like tendril inserted into their throats, siphoning their blood.
This meant most of the people hanging there were still alive!
Terrified he’d end up strung up too, Qin Yun didn’t dare enter and quickly retreated from the chamber.
However, the path ahead led straight through that nightmare chamber.
Qin Yun glanced back at the elder behind him and said, "There are many living people inside. If I’m not mistaken, they must be the Long family elders, all hanging and being drained of blood!"
They were being farmed like blood cattle, drained dry over and over, likely for many years.
The more Qin Yun thought about it, the more terrified he became, knowing something in there was feasting on them nonstop.
He shared his discovery with the group behind him.
Upon hearing this, their faces went pale, filled with fear.
"I can try to pass through, but... aren’t you going to save those people inside?" Qin Yun looked at the Long family members.
"Check who’s still kicking in there. Rescue them so we can ask about the situation inside," a Half-Immortal said. They wouldn’t set foot inside blind.
"Fine!" Qin Yun reopened the door and stepped back into the blood-red chamber.
Once inside, the door closed behind him, leaving only a small gap for the rope to pass through. He then turned himself invisible and masked his presence to stay safer.
Qin Yun circled the chamber, checking nearly every person but coming up empty, which disappointed him.
Over a hundred people hung there, their gear long stripped.
He found the elder with the strongest vitality, painstakingly worked him loose, and quickly carried him out.
As soon as Qin Yun placed the elder on the ground, a Half-Immortal from the Long family exclaimed, "It’s Fifth Uncle!"
Several Long family Half-Immortals immediately began pumping energy into the half-dead elder.
"This one had the strongest vitality, and his soul was still intact. The others had no souls left—their bodies were just blood factories," Qin Yun said. "Getting through that place won’t be easy. I suspect most who enter here get captured when passing through that chamber!"
Before long, Fifth Uncle opened his eyes.
Seeing the Long family Half-Immortals, he broke down sobbing, tears streaming as he murmured, "I’m not dead, I’m not dead... You’ve finally come to save me. It’s hell... absolute hell..."
"Fifth Uncle, what happened to you all? Why has no one who entered here ever returned?" a Long family Half-Immortal asked.
Now, many in the group feared they might not make it back.
"We encountered powerful evil spirits—ones that have cultivated flesh-and-blood bodies and learned to absorb our blood to further evolve! Their strength is terrifying, practically immortal-tier!" Fifth Uncle’s eyes filled with dread as he spoke of them.
"Did you pass through that stone chamber?" Qin Yun pointed at the door.
"No, we were all captured in the hall filled with stones before we even got that far," Fifth Uncle shook his head. "Get out now—unless you wanna die here!"
"Fifth Uncle, do you know what those stones in the hall were? Hah!" an elder from the Long family chuckled.
"Of course I know! Those were Imperial Mother Stones, which can give birth to Imperial Source Stones!" Fifth Uncle replied. "But we never found a good way to harvest the Imperial Source Stones!"
Upon hearing the words "Imperial Mother Stones," everyone immediately realized they were stones that could produce Imperial Source Stones!
And those Imperial Mother Stones had all been taken by Qin Yun!
Everyone glared at Qin Yun!
Qin Yun was shocked the old man knew about the Imperial Mother Stones.
"Sister Rujing gave them to me! Don’t even think about taking them!" Qin Yun quickly hid behind Xian Rujing.
Xian Rujing was equally astonished. She had heard of Imperial Mother Stones, but according to legends, they were supposed to be beautiful, shimmering with multicolored radiance.
Yet the ones Qin Yun had taken were all ugly and deformed.
"You damn lackey, hand over those Imperial Mother Stones now!" Long Chuanwu roared.
"Hmph, you all didn't want them, so they’re mine now!" Qin Yun shouted, he’d rather die than hand them over.
"Give them up now!" A Half-Immortal drew his weapon.
"Kid, those stones are no use to you by yourself. You’d need a ton of energy to nurture Imperial Source Stones from them!"
"Give them up now! You can’t keep them all to yourself!"
"We’ll give you ten in return!"
A group of Half-Immortals and Emperor Wu all began threatening Qin Yun.
Qin Yun said, "Sister Rujing, you swore you’d protect me! Don’t let them hurt me!"
Long Chuanwu shouted, "Rujing, you know damn well how valuable those Imperial Mother Stones in that brat’s hands are! They’re worth a thousand times more than Imperial Source Stones! Make him hand them over!"
Xian Rujing replied, "I promised him those stones. I won’t break my promise."
"Rujing, back then, we had no idea they were Imperial Mother Stones! That’s why we gave them to him! But now it’s different, we all know they’re incredibly precious Imperial Mother Stones, make him give them back!" Long Chuanwu insisted.
"No! I’d rather die than give them to you!" Qin Yun yelled. "You were the ones who didn’t want them! I claimed them fair and square!"
"You little shit! Hand them over, or I swear you’ll die horribly!" Long Chuanwu bellowed.
"Sister Rujing and I are bound by a Shared Fate Talisman! Go ahead, kill me if you dare!" Qin Yun retorted defiantly.
"That talisman only lasts seven days. After that, you’re a dead man!" a Half-Immortal said coldly.
Qin Yun hissed at Xian Rujing, "You promised to protect me! Look at them—they all want me dead!"
A Half-Immortal from the Heavenly Dragon Sect said, "Lady Xian, those Imperial Mother Stones are a big fucking deal. Don’t screw around with this! If necessary, I’ll have to offend you!"
With those Imperial Mother Stones, one could continuously produce vast amounts of Imperial Source Stones!
In the long run, the benefits were enormous.
Just as the argument raged on, the door suddenly swung open!
A pitch-black figure, as if emerging from a pool of dark sludge, lurched into view. Its eyes glowed crimson, its clawed hands resembling dragon talons. The aura it exuded was on par with an immortal’s—yet filled with sheer evil.
Everyone immediately stopped their commotion and looked at that person!
"It's... it's Long Xieling, run!" Fifth Uncle cried out in terror.
Feeling that terrifying evil power, even those Half-Immortals wielding immortal weapons were paralyzed with terror.
Qin Yun's body suddenly emitted a radiant white glow: the power of Righteous Qi.
Just as Long Xieling was about to approach, it was repelled by the white light from Qin Yun's body and forced to retreat back into the ancient stone chamber.
Seeing Qin Yun repel Long Xieling, everyone breathed a secret sigh of relief!
Right then, Qin Yun chased after it and rushed into the stone chamber.
