Chapter 0622: Light Conditions
by**Chapter 622: Setting Terms**
As soon as Granny Ma said this, everyone turned to look at Qin Yun all at once.
The one who defeated Jian Nanhu was actually Qin Yun!
This caused an uproar, with people shouting in shock and disbelief.
Qin Yun, who was sitting on the ground healing, pretended to look confused and said, “Granny Ma, cut the nonsense, will you? I can’t even beat Jian Ruyan—how could I possibly beat Jian Nanhu?”
Bao Changshou nodded and said, “Granny Ma, Qin Yun just can’t beat Jian Nanhu! Sure, he has a Profound Body, but even Tian Yaolei has a strong body and still lost to Jian Nanhu.”
Granny Ma seethed at Qin Yun in her mind. Last time they entered the Ghost Grass Demon Forest, she had arranged for Qin Yun to intercept a disciple from the Jian family—and Qin Yun had actually beaten that disciple.
Now, he was straight-up lying about it!
Jian Nanhu frowned and said, “It wasn’t Qin Yun! I watched his match earlier—the Dao Force aura around him is different from the person I fought!”
“Jian Nanhu,” Granny Ma pushed, “let me ask you—did the person who beat you in the Ghost Grass Demon Forest use a blade?”
“No! He didn’t use any weapons!” Jian Nanhu replied, clenching his fists tightly.
This triggered another wave of shocked cries from the crowd!
Jian Nanhu always fought with a sword, yet the one who defeated him used no weapon at all!
Such strength was truly “heaven-defying”!
Jian Ruyan snapped, “Qin Yun’s the kind who always ambushes people—he’d never fight someone barehanded! There’s no way he beat Brother Hu!”
“You get me!” Qin Yun laughed. “If I were fighting in the Ghost Grass Demon Forest, I’d just fling talismans and throw knives at them until they dropped. Easy win! Lady, you really understand me!”
“Get lost! Who understands you?!” Jian Ruyan shouted angrily.
Granny Ma stomped her foot in frustration and yelled, “Qin Yun, stop pretending! I took you into the Ghost Grass Demon Forest last time to stop a Sword Immortal Pavilion disciple!”
“Granny Ma, how would an outer sect guy like me go on a mission with you? I’ve been earning points in the Immortal Arms Illusory Realm the whole time, okay?” Qin Yun said, smirking.
Granny Ma quickly turned to Liu Jingmeng. “Jingmeng, Qin Yun went with you too when you captured the Mystic Mushroom Beast!”
“Really? But we were all wearing masks—I couldn’t recognize anyone!” Liu Jingmeng looked at Qin Yun and asked, “Brother Yun, were you there with me?”
“Nope!” Qin Yun grinned innocently.
Granny Ma wanted to slap that smile off his face—he lied so naturally.
Jian Shitian looked at Bao Changshou and said, “Old Bao, my grandson came here just wants to lose once. Hurry up and bring out that person!”
“You owe me a favor, right? Now’s the perfect chance to repay it—it’s an easy favor.”
If not for Jian Shitian saving his life back then, Bao Changshou wouldn’t have reached his current Half-Immortal realm. He took this debt seriously.
“Sect Leader, I’m telling you—it’s Qin Yun!” Granny Ma insisted. “We’ve known each other for years—why would I lie to you?”
“Granny Ma, no way! That’s impossible!” Jian Ruyan couldn’t believe it.
In her eyes, Qin Yun was nothing but a sneaky bastard—how could he possibly defeat Jian Nanhu barehanded?
Jian Nanhu also felt that Qin Yun wasn’t like the person he had fought.
Bao Changshou gazed into Granny Ma’s eyes, let out a long sigh, and turned to Qin Yun. “Qin Yun, it no longer matters who defeated Jian Nanhu. What matters now is that you defeat him today!”
“Sect Leader of the Immortal Armament Sect, I… I don’t have the strength for that, and I’m already injured!” Qin Yun replied with a troubled expression.
Granny Ma whispered, “Leader, this brat is trying to negotiate with you. Don’t expect him to listen unless you offer something in return!”
“Qin Yun, if you can defeat Jian Nanhu, you’ll be helping me repay a debt to Jian Shitian. I’ll be deeply grateful—ten Yuanling Mystic Pills. How does that sound?” Bao Changshou offered.
Ten Yuanling Mystic Pills? That was a fortune!
Jian Ruyan sneered, “This shameless worm couldn’t beat Brother Hu even if you gave him a hundred or a thousand pills!”
The onlookers buzzed with excitement too—ten Yuanling Mystic Pills was no small reward.
Qin Yun secretly scoffed at Bao Changshou. Did he really think ten Yuanling Mystic Pills could settle a debt owed to Jian Shitian?
“Sect Leader… Is the debt you owe Senior Jian Shitian only worth ten Yuanling Mystic Pills?” Qin Yun asked.
“Well… how about twenty?” Bao Changshou suddenly understood why Granny Ma had kept Qin Yun’s role quiet—she must have known he’d try to haggle.
Gasps rippled through the crowd!
Twenty pills now?!
“Leader, what’s the difference if you give him a hundred? He still can’t beat Brother Hu!” Jian Ruyan said confidently.
“Yan-jie, if he actually wins, will you be footing the bill for those hundred Yuanling Mystic Pills?” Jian Mang chuckled.
Jian Ruyan shot Jian Mang a withering look and clamped her mouth shut.
Seeing Bao Changshou raise his offer, Qin Yun prepared to unleash his innate skill—the "Sky Lion’s Audacious Demand."
“Sect Leader, I demand four concessions! First, reinstate me as a disciple of the Immortal Armament Sect. Second, revoke my hundred-year imprisonment sentence. Third, give me fifty Yuanling Mystic Pills. Fourth, waive my tributes!” Qin Yun declared.
“Go to hell!” Yang Shenglong immediately shouted.
That was exactly what Bao Changshou, Granny Ma, and the rest were thinking.
Qin Yun’s lips curled faintly. “Whether you agree or not is up to you, Sect Leader. I don’t have to fight—I’m injured right now. If I go into battle, I might end up severely wounded or even killed. I’m risking my neck here!”
“Sect Leader, don’t agree! I, Yang Shenglong, can defeat Jian Nanhu!” Yang Shenglong burst out.
“You? I’d bet on Qin Yun over you any day!” Jian Ruyan looked at Yang Shenglong with open disdain.
Granny Ma had expected Qin Yun would seize the chance to bargain.
Bao Changshou was still considering.
“Qi Shi, I might not even be able to defeat Jian Nanhu!” Qin Yun laughed.
The Long, Tian, and Yang clans squirmed with dread. The mere thought of Qin Yun winning chilled them.
Because if that happened, Qin Yun would return to the Immortal Armament Sect.
And the Sect Leader would shield him—no question!
In that case, their whole scheme would backfire, and they would have sacrificed several disciples for nothing.
Qin Yun had originally been sentenced to a hundred years’ imprisonment, but due to interference from the clan factions, he was expelled from the Immortal Armament Sect instead, avoiding punishment—Their first misstep.
If Elder Bao agrees to Qin Yun’s conditions, then Qin Yun will have nothing to worry about and could even rejoin as a disciple of Immortal Weapon City!
Jian Ruyan gently nudged Qin Yun, who was sitting on the ground, with her knee and whispered, “You fool, did you really defeat Brother Hu before?”
“Yes, do you believe me?” Qin Yun let out a hearty laugh.
“You always mix truth and lies—completely insincere!” Jian Ruyan snapped with a glare.
“I have no one to rely on. If I weren’t a bit cunning, I wouldn’t have survived till now! Unlike you, the Jian family’s prized daughter—no one dares provoke you, and everyone avoids you from afar!” Qin Yun sighed. “As for me, whenever I get something good, a pack of jackals immediately surrounds me to snatch it away!”
He glared fiercely at the people from Medicine Immortal Valley and the Long family. “They’re exactly those jackals!”
Jian Shitian said, “Elder Bao, if Qin Yun can truly defeat Nanhu, that means he surpasses Nanhu in talent. Even if your Immortal Weapon City won’t take him back, my Sword Immortal Pavilion will gladly accept him as a disciple!”
“Senior, I wield a blade,” Qin Yun replied.
“No problem, blades and swords are of the same family! Demonmoon Island already made an exception by taking you in as a male disciple. Me making an exception is nothing!” Jian Shitian chuckled.
Hearing Jian Shitian’s words, Medicine Immortal Valley and Canghuo Immortal Mountain were furious. It was clear Jian Shitian wasn’t afraid of them.
“Fine, Qin Yun, I agree!” Elder Bao naturally recognized Qin Yun’s talent.
The reason he had expelled Qin Yun was because the latter had trespassed into a forbidden area, violating sect rules.
Furthermore, that forbidden area belonged to another powerful figure within Immortal Weapon City—one whom even the sect leader himself feared.
“That’s the spirit!”
Qin Yun chuckled and slowly stood up. His easy smile made it seem as though he wasn’t seriously injured at all.
Qin Yun removed his robe, revealing the split skin on his arms. Though the wounds were still visible, they weren’t deep—only shallow splits on the surface.
Yet Liu Jingmeng winced in sympathy at the sight!
“Let’s begin!” Qin Yun declared.
“Wait, you're injured, and I've fought several matches already—I'm a little fatigued too. How about we each rest for two hours to recover?” Jian Nanhu called out, unwilling to take advantage of Qin Yun’s condition.
“As you wish!” Qin Yun replied casually, radiating confidence.
Liu Jingmeng whispered, “Brother Yun, let me heal your wounds. My healing elixirs are very effective! Look at Sister Ruyan—her injuries have mostly healed without leaving scars!”
Qin Yun threw his robe back over his shoulders and smiled. “Thank you, Jingmeng, but I can heal myself. Could you do me a small favor?”
“If it’s within my power, I’ll definitely help!” Liu Jingmeng bobbed her head eagerly.
“Help me forge an unforged Darkblade base—finish it in ninety minutes. Can you do it?” Qin Yun grinned.
“I can!” Liu Jingmeng nodded with full confidence.
Qin Yun actually asking Liu Jingmeng to help forge a weapon left everyone puzzled about his intentions.
Liu Jingmeng quickly took out her smithing tools—her furnace and hammer were of excellent quality.
Qin Yun produced a large vat and set up a small barrier over it to prevent any energy from leaking out. Then, he began letting his blood flow into the vat!
“Brother Yun, what are you doing?!”
Liu Jingmeng had just arranged her tools when she saw Qin Yun letting his blood flow into the vat and gasped in alarm.
“Using my blood to forge the unforged mystical weapon!” Qin Yun smiled. “Only then will the weapon be bound to me by blood!”
His blood was the Sky Lion’s Mystical Blood, which was why he set up the barrier—to prevent its potent aura from drawing attention.
