Chapter 0536 Star Lord
byChapter 0536 Star Monarch
Mu Fengxiao ordered many delicious dishes to entertain Qin Yun.
"Chubby Mu, what were all those people doing in that grand hall earlier?" Qin Yun asked curiously.
"Hehe, the Great Southwest Conflict! The West Qiwen Hall and the South Qiwen Hall are fighting each other. I'm here to watch the fun!" Mu Fengxiao chuckled.
"So you're not from the South Qiwen Hall!" Qin Yun also ate heartily from the delicious dishes.
"I'm from the East Qiwen Hall. My mission here is to stoke the conflict and ensure their mutual destruction. That way, our East Qiwen Hall's business will thrive!" Mu Fengxiao smirked cunningly.
Qin Yun wasn't surprised by the internal strife within the Qiwen Halls. In such massive organizations with so many capable individuals, it was inevitable that conflicts would arise.
"I came here to meet our Blade and Sword Manor's Manor Lord. I really don’t know why the meeting had to be here!" Qin Yun pouted.
"Your Manor Lord is a guest elder of the South Qiwen Hall, so it's normal for him to be here. I suspect he wants you three strong Martial Dao disciples to help him regain prestige!" Mu Fengxiao shook his head. "I must say, the South Qiwen Hall is a notch below the West Qiwen Hall. This time, the South Qiwen Hall is bound to suffer!"
Hearing this, Qin Yun realized the Manor Lord had other motives for summoning them here—it wasn’t just a simple meeting.
"Fine, since we're disciples of the Blade and Sword Manor, we can’t refuse if the Manor Lord asks for our help."
As long as it didn’t involve life-or-death battles, Qin Yun didn’t mind.
"Qin Yun, I just received some news about a Rune Spirit!"
Mu Fengxiao had brought Qin Yun here specifically to discuss this matter.
"What news?" Qin Yun asked.
"That Rune Spirit is called *Star Monarch*. Once obtained, engraving stellar runes will become effortless!" Mu Fengxiao explained. "It was forged by the moon absorbing stellar energy for many years!"
"This Rune Spirit fell into the Darkmoon Mountain Range and was... obtained by Yang Shiyue. Now, many powerful factions are searching for her within the mountains!"
Mu Fengxiao's words made Qin Yun shot upright!
Yang Shiyue had indeed obtained the Rune Spirit, but her current situation was dire.
"Yang Shiyue isn’t even at the Spirit Martial Realm, yet she managed to obtain a Rune Spirit. It’s truly astonishing!" Mu Fengxiao sighed. "For us Rune Masters, such a thing is priceless, yet she got it!"
"What’s the situation like inside the Darkmoon Mountain Range?" Qin Yun was eager to rush there immediately.
"The Darkmoon Mountain Range is quite dangerous. It has countless towering mountains, half of which are submerged in water—a mix of submerged peaks and lakes. There are peak-dwelling and waterborne beasts!" Mu Fengxiao said. "If you really want to go in, now isn’t the right time!"
Qin Yun sat back down, his heart filled with worry. "Why not?"
"Yang Shiyue must be hiding extremely well. You needn’t fret. Besides, she’s a disciple of the Darkmoon Palace!" Mu Fengxiao poured Qin Yun a cup of wine and continued, "What’s more important for you is figuring out how to enter an Immortal Sect!"
"Entering an Immortal Sect is crucial for you—it’ll help you break through to the Spirit Martial Realm faster. Remember that Liu Chongsheng? That guy is already a Spirit Martial Realm Martial Master and has become a core disciple!"
"I know how important it is to enter an Immortal Sect, but it’s no easy feat!" Qin Yun also wanted to join a decent Immortal Sect, but it was far from simple.
"Qin Yun, a golden opportunity is right before you! The Immortal Armament City currently holds open trials unlike other Immortal Sects."
Mu Fengxiao took up his chopsticks and continued, "Currently, the Five Immortal Sects have teamed up with our Qiwen Halls to open an Untamed Realm!"
"This Untamed Realm is special—only Martial Dao Realm cultivators can enter!"
"Rumor has it that it’s the lair of ancient Heavenly Beasts. Inside, there are many Heavenly Beasts, such as Sky Lions, dragons, phoenixes, kirins, and more! There are also treasures related to these Heavenly Beasts!"
Qin Yun widened his eyes at Mu Fengxiao, looking stunned.
Mu Fengxiao grinned slyly, "The immortal sects all want these treasures, so they need to send some powerful Martial Dao experts in!"
"If your Manor Lord recommends you, and you manage to obtain something valuable for the Immortal Soldier City, you might just get accepted into their sect!"
"Your Manor Lord of the Blade and Sword Manor is a guest elder of the Sword Immortal Pavilion, the Immortal Soldier City, and the South Qiwen Hall here. He definitely has ways to get you into an immortal sect!"
Qin Yun nodded. This was indeed a great opportunity.
...
Mu Fengxiao and Qin Yun were eating and drinking in an upstairs private room, while the main hall downstairs was alive with activity.
Mu Fengxiao, who had originally intended to watch the show, seemed to have forgotten about it.
Jian Lang murmured to Tian Ruoleng and Yue Wulan beside him, "Can you contact your little brother?"
Tian Ruoleng and Yue Wulan both shook their heads.
"The Manor Lord is here!" Jian Lang said quietly, then walked toward an elder in white robes.
The elder in white robes was tall, with a youthful face and white hair, kind-eyed, and a gentle expression. A short sword hung at his waist.
This elder was Chu Binyu—the Manor Lord of the Blade and Sword Manor!
Yue Wulan and Tian Ruoleng hurried over and greeted him softly.
Chu Binyu smiled and nodded.
"Chu Binyu, I finally see you! Has Qin Yun from your Blade and Sword Manor arrived?" a golden-robed elder suddenly shouted angrily.
"And you are?" Chu Binyu asked with a puzzled expression, his voice raspy but warm.
Yue Wulan and Tian Ruoleng were taken aback—they hadn’t expected the Manor Lord of the Blade and Sword Manor to appear so kind.
"I am Yang Qiongjin of the Sword Star Sect! Yang Yanxing is my son! Qin Yun captured him with a powerful Dao Artifact—I’m here to demand his release!"
Yang Qiongjin had a large head, a thick white beard, and a fierce, intimidating presence, exuding a menacing aura.
Chu Binyu gave a faint smile. "My apologies. Once I see Qin Yun, I’ll discuss this matter with him properly."
"Discuss? You should order him to release my son immediately!" Yang Qiongjin snarled.
"That's not possible. Your son tried to kill Qin Yun first. It’s only natural that Qin Yun captured him."
"Asking Qin Yun to release someone who wanted to kill him—that wouldn’t be appropriate." Chu Binyu spoke slowly, his tone gentle.
The crowd in the hall watched Chu Binyu and the others.
Seeing Yue Wulan and Tian Ruoleng—two striking figures dressed in black—they could guess their identities.
They only found it odd that while Yue Wulan and Tian Ruoleng had come, Qin Yun was absent.
"No more disturbances today. This is a duel between our West Qiwen Hall and the South Qiwen Hall. If you have grievances, settle them another time!"
A bald elder with upturned white eyebrows, in black armor, strode into the spacious hall with a group of followers.
Though the hall now held over a thousand people, it remained spacious enough to accommodate everyone.
The people from the South Qiwen Hall were already here.
When they saw the group of black-armored warriors from the West Qiwen Hall arrive, they immediately looked hostile.
Yang Qiongjin from the Yang family had also heard that Chu Binyu was here, which was why he rushed over.
He didn't know about the conflict between the South and West Qiwen Halls.
When Yang Qiongjin saw Chu Binyu standing with the people from the South Qiwen Hall, he was taken aback.
He never would've guessed Chu Binyu had such a good relationship with the Runes Masters!
Earlier, his yelling at Chu Binyu had indeed been too reckless.
Fortunately, Chu Binyu was easygoing—had it been someone else, they would've kicked him out.
"Chu Binyu, are you in on this fight as well?" Baldy sneered.
"I am a guest elder of the South Qiwen Hall, so naturally, I must contribute my part. I hope everyone will take it easy on us!" Chu Binyu replied politely with a calm smile.
"Does the South Qiwen Hall not have any good Runes Masters? To think they had to invite a guest elder!" The bald elder’s laughter was dripping with sarcasm.
The people from the South Qiwen Hall were seething.
"Don’t get angry just yet—because what comes next will make you even angrier!"
"Your South Qiwen Hall occupies such a large area, yet you fail to provide quality talismans, materials, and weapons."
"We won't just sit back anymore. We must show the people of the Southern District just how inferior your South Qiwen Hall is!"
Baldy was from the West Qiwen Hall. Their Western District had fewer people and poor business.
In contrast, the Southern District was larger, more populous, and had booming business.
However, the overall strength of the Southern District was weaker, which was why the Western District had them in their crosshairs.
"Baldy, are you saying our South Qiwen Hall’s rune skills are inferior to yours?" a middle-aged man shot back indignantly.
"Not just inferior—far inferior!" Baldy smirked confidently. "If you don’t believe me, let’s settle it with a contest!"
Among the South Qiwen Hall’s side, only Chu Binyu kept his cool, still wearing a calm smile. "How shall we compete?"
"We’ll test two fundamental skills: material refinement and rune precision!" Baldy stroked his bald head and smirked. "Once my granddaughter arrives, she’ll be the one to challenge you!"
"Your granddaughter?" Chu Binyu frowned slightly. "Is she that youngster who reached the Spirit Martial Realm before the age of twenty?"
This statement immediately set the room buzzing!
A martial artist under twenty—a once-in-a-generation talent!
Baldy grew even more pleased with himself. "That’s right! She is now a main gate disciple of the Immortal Blade City."
"So Liu Jingmeng is Baldy's granddaughter!"
"How could a shabby-looking old man have such an amazing granddaughter? Did he pick her up somewhere?"
"Exactly! This bald fellow is nothing special—there’s no way he has such good genes!"
"If his granddaughter were bald too, then maybe she’d really be his own flesh and blood!"
"I’ve heard from disciples of the Immortal Blade City that Liu Jingmeng is quite beautiful—definitely not bald!"
The crowd broke into gossip.
Baldy’s face turned purple with rage. He wanted nothing more than to drag out these loudmouths and pound them into the ground.
"Shut your mouths, you lot. If any of you dare spout nonsense again, I’ll knock your teeth out!" Baldy roared angrily at the crowd.
