Chapter 0642 The Mystery of the Previous Life
by**Chapter 0642: Puzzles of a Past Life**
The Sun Moon Celestial Bed was quite spacious—it could fit three or four people easily.
Bingxing and Qin Yun lay on it, keeping some space between them.
"It’s not like I’ll kill you!" Bingxing said. "But you better behave—no funny business, or I’ll send you straight to your next life!"
Qin Yun, sensing the icy killing intent from Bingxing, quickly replied, "I won’t try anything, I swear!"
Bingxing cultivated ice-based energy, and her icy power seeped out whenever she felt strongly.
She remained highly alert lying beside Qin Yun, letting off a bone-chilling aura that had Qin Yun shaking like a leaf.
Without the bed’s warmth, he would’ve been an ice cube by now.
Just as Qin Yun was freezing, Bingxing suddenly took his hand.
To his surprise, her hand, smooth as jade, was soft and warm. Held gently in her grasp, a strange warmth spread through him, like he was thawing out.
"Relax your entire body. We’ll use the bed’s power together," Bingxing said, holding his hand naturally.
Once Qin Yun fully relaxed, he drifted off without realizing it.
Before long, he opened his eyes and found himself lying on a stunning hillside covered in flowers and greenery.
Bingxing sat beside him, eyes shut, deep in meditation. "Our consciousness will stay here for a year. Figured out how you’ll spend it?"
"Hmm, good question," Qin Yun murmured, deep in thought.
He turned inward and asked Ling Yuner, "Yun’er, what’s the best use of my time here?"
"Train your techniques! Focus on the Ultimate Dragon Palm—it’s powerful, but it’s a grind to master," Ling Yuner advised.
Right now, Qin Yun could only perform three strikes of the technique, and breaking through was tough.
"Xiao Yun, with your current energy, you can handle at least five solid strikes," she added.
He knew this already, but it was brutal training—only through repeated battles with Bingxing had he started to grasp it.
"Alright, I’ll focus on the Ultimate Dragon Palm," Qin Yun decided, though secretly he wanted to learn Heaven-Piercing Finger instead.
Still, the Ultimate Dragon Palm suited him perfectly. His main internal cultivation method, the Nine Extremes Heart Sutra, had given him Nine Extremes energy.
When channeled through the Nine Extremes Chaos Force, the palm strikes became devastating.
Qin Yun got to work, grinding away at his training.
Bingxing, who had been meditating, opened her eyes and watched.
She’d fought Qin Yun many times before and knew this overbearing, forceful palm technique well.
"What kind of move is that?" she asked.
"Ultimate Dragon Palm."
"Rings a bell."
Bingxing drifted into thought, her expression furrowing. With her extensive memories, it took some time before she could gradually recall certain things.
Qin Yun's Ultimate Dragon Palm came from the Nine Extremes Heart Sutra, which he also got from the Zhenyang Divine Arrow.
"Sister Bingxing, this is a palm technique from the Nine Extremes Heart Sutra!" Qin Yun added.
"The Nine Extremes Heart Sutra? If I remember correctly, its original name should be the Nine Extremes Sacred Art—a very ancient sacred-tier martial art!" Bingxing was genuinely shocked after recalling this.
"Is that true?" Qin Yun was skeptical. Sacred-tier techniques were even more formidable than immortal-level ones.
"Xiao Yun, it must be true!" Ling Yuner piped up.
"Yun'er, aren't you supposed to know everything? Why didn’t you mention this earlier?" Qin Yun questioned Ling Yuner.
Ling Yuner sniffed. "My memories are scattered and messy. Unless something is specifically mentioned, how would I recall it?"
Bingxing walked over to Qin Yun and said, "Mastering even a part of this technique means you’ve started cultivating it. But you must be careful not to lose control and let your qi deviate!"
"I understand!" Qin Yun nodded. "I only have the first volume of this technique."
"From what I know, your Nine Extremes Heart Sutra has three parts: the upper, middle, and lower scrolls. The upper scroll is in Wuhuang, the middle in Xianhuang, and the lower in Shenghuang!" Bingxing explained. "Of course, this was many years ago. It’s possible all three scrolls are now scattered across the various realms!"
Qin Yun thought of Wei Zhongzheng, the Nine Extremes Sect Leader, who was painstakingly searching for the remaining volumes of the Nine Extremes Heart Sutra.
"Qin Yun, your Ultimate Dragon Palm is special. If you land three palm strikes in succession, their power compounds instantly, becoming incredibly strong," Bingxing added, having experienced it herself in the Immortal Weapon Illusion Realm.
"Hmm!" Qin Yun nodded. "The Ultimate Dragon Palm consists of thirty-six strikes, but I can only execute three so far."
"Choosing to practice the Ultimate Dragon Palm here is wise, but solo practice is inefficient." As she spoke, Bingxing suddenly lashed out with a palm strike at Qin Yun.
Qin Yun reflexively sidestepped, secretly delighted. Practicing with Bingxing would indeed accelerate his progress.
As a celestial being, Bingxing could also guide Qin Yun in his training, drawing from her wealth of experience.
...
Unbeknownst to them, Qin Yun and Bingxing had spent a year inside the Sun Moon Temporal Realm!
Qin Yun suddenly realized that being in the Sun Moon Temporal Realm with Bingxing had brought them closer.
He also discovered that Bingxing was truly a kind-hearted woman, probably just as innocent and pure as Liu Jingmeng and Qi Meilian once were.
"We’ve been here for a year, but only half a day seems to have passed outside!" Bingxing frowned. "Could it be that when a man and woman use the Sun Moon Celestial Bed together, it stretches out the time within the Sun Moon Temporal Realm?"
"Does that mean we can stay here for another year?"
Qin Yun found it incredible that his consciousness had spent a year in the Sun Moon Temporal Realm—it felt like a completely real world.
His consciousness had experienced a year, while his body had only experienced half a day—a truly mind-bending experience.
"Sister Bingxing, how well do you know Jingmeng?" Qin Yun asked.
"I found Jingmeng when I first arrived at the Immortal Weapon City. She was making mud pies, and I immediately recognized her Immortal Body, so I brought her into the Immortal Weapon Palace," Bingxing replied.
"So, Jingmeng hasn’t been in the Immortal Weapon Palace for long!" Qin Yun exclaimed in surprise.
"That’s right. She’s a simple little girl with an Immortal Body, bound to ascend without hindrance," Bingxing nodded.
"Sister Bingxing, Jingmeng possesses a Totemic Runesoul—it’s been hidden deep within her all along. I employed the Art of Soul Refinement to awaken it for her!" Qin Yun said.
"Really?" Bingxing was stunned. She knew full well how rare and valuable a Totemic Runesoul was.
"Absolutely true!" Qin Yun affirmed.
"Good, then. I’ll go speak with her and guide her future cultivation!" Bingxing’s eyes gleamed with fascination.
Qin Yun hesitated briefly before asking, "Sister Bingxing, do you know Elder Sister Yang Shiyue, the Young Palace Master of the Moonfrost Palace?"
Bingxing’s face hardened slightly as she coldly replied, "Qin Yun, have your memories returned?"
Qin Yun's heart jolted—so Bingxing really did know Yang Shiyue.
"Not at all!" he quickly denied.
"Not even a little? Or are they slowly surfacing?" Bingxing reminded him, "You know what I said—if your past-life memories awaken, I’ll treat you as the same swindler from before… and end you."
"Truly not!" Qin Yun frantically waved his hands.
"Then how do you even know about the Young Palace Master of the Moonfrost Palace?" Bingxing snapped. "Out with it!"
"Bingxing! First, tell me—do you know her?" Qin Yun pressed.
"I do. She and I suffered the same fate," Bingxing said bitterly. "She was tricked by you—even worse than I was… by *you* in your past life."
Qin Yun had asked about Yang Shiyue hoping to understand the connection between their past lives.
Back when Yang Shiyue regained her memories, she had shown him nothing but pure venom and murderous rage.
"How do you even know she exists?" Bingxing narrowed her eyes. "Are your memories beginning to surface? You’d better clamp down on them!"
"It’s because…" Qin Yun hesitated. "I went to the Moonfrost Palace. That’s… complicated."
He gave a brief explanation of how he had entered the palace using an Ancient Orchard Token.
Bingxing listened silently. When she learned that he had retrieved the Black Moon Martial Spirit, she began to piece things together.
"That Young Palace Master is Elder Sister Yang Shiyue. She treated me very kindly—I’m deeply grateful to her… Let me tell you a bit about our story."
Qin Yun recounted his wretched childhood, how he met Yang Shiyue, and how he had helped her.
Perhaps if Bingxing understood this life of his, it might soften her grudge against him.
"Who can say if she was in your debt in a past life—or you were in hers?" Bingxing sighed after listening, clearly conflicted.
"Sister Bingxing," Qin Yun asked carefully, "how exactly did my past self wrong her? She never speaks of it."
"If she won’t say, neither will I. Let those memories stay dead and buried."
Her icy hostility toward Qin Yun seemed to have thawed, just a little.
After all, Yang Shiyue had once hated him far more intensely than Bingxing—but had eventually forgiven him, and now they were close.
"Are you two friends?" he asked softly.
"Yes," Bingxing nodded. "We’re sworn sisters. You deceived me… then deceived her too."
"What about the Demoness’s daughter?" Qin Yun continued. "From Senior Wu, I learned that the Immortal Bone Burial Grounds imprison her."
"She's also my friend. It's complicated—you don't need to know!" Bingxing said.
"Then did I, in my past life, deceive the daughter of the Demon Princess?" Qin Yun quickly asked again.
"You never stood a chance!" Bingxing sneered. "She's not one to be fooled so easily! And... it was actually her who warned us to watch out for you back then!"
Qin Yun was secretly shocked. Xie Qirou actually knew about his past life, yet in this life, she treated him extremely well. He had no idea why.
He didn’t want his memories to awaken, but he also felt that his past self couldn’t have been so despicable—there must be some misunderstanding.
"Don’t overthink it. This life is your clean slate!"
Bingxing stared into his eyes, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Keep practicing the Ultimate Dragon Palm! You must grow stronger. Because in the Immortal Wilds, wherever there are people, there are your enemies!"
Hearing this, Qin Yun muttered a curse under his breath, wishing he could drag his past self out and punch his lights out.
