Chapter 0941 The Stellar Teleportation Array
byChapter 0941: Starry Sky Teleportation Array
Grandma Xing quickly crafted a golden token and handed it to Qin Yun, smiling, "Just add a drop of your blood!"
Qin Yun was a bit worried and asked, "Tower Master, I never even took the test, but I can still become a golden disciple. Is that really okay?"
Lan Chen also voiced his concern, "Tower Master, I heard the Hundred Towers Sect is very strict with its disciples! Xiao Yun skipped the test but became a golden disciple directly. Won’t he get in trouble?"
Qin Yun had heard before that the Hundred Towers Sect was extremely strict when recruiting official disciples—passing the assessment was mandatory.
Grandma Xing chuckled, "Don’t worry! Our Star Tower is so run-down that no one cares about our disciples’ status!"
Hearing this, Qin Yun and Lan Chen felt strange, like they could spit blood.
Qin Yun dripped his blood on the golden token, officially becoming the golden disciple of the Star Tower from then on.
"Tower Master, are these all the people in our Star Tower?" Qin Yun glanced at the elders.
"Yes. There used to be a few more, but they all died just yesterday," Grandma Xing sighed.
"Greetings, senior brothers!" Lan Chen bowed respectfully to the elders.
Qin Yun followed suit, saluting the senior brothers alongside Lan Chen.
The senior brothers were overjoyed—after so many years, their Star Tower finally had new disciples!
The Star Tower was filled with elderly people, not a single middle-aged person in sight, showing how badly the ranks had thinned.
Grandma Xing said, "You two youngsters, don’t judge our Star Tower too harshly! Sure, it’s a dump now, but we have a glorious history! When the Hundred Towers Sect was first founded, our Star Tower was the best of the best!"
As she spoke, she pointed to a stone stele standing in the corner of the first-floor hall, which indeed bore the words "Number One Tower."
Qin Yun’s eyes lit up. "Tower Master, what advantage did our Star Tower have back then to become the top tower?"
Grandma Xing’s eyes filled with nostalgia. "Our ability to gather endless resources from deep space! The first Tower Master of our Star Tower once crossed whole galaxies and brought back immense cultivation resources! Later… later, because some disciples frequently ventured into the cosmos and either vanished or just never came back, our Star Tower gradually declined."
Lan Chen frowned. "Tower Master, how do you obtain cultivation resources now? The senior brothers all look ancient—it must be due to a lack of resources, right?"
Grandma Xing sighed deeply. "Ugh, don’t get me started! Back then, because one of our Tower Masters made a mistake, our Star Tower was slapped with a 30,000-year resource ban! From now on, just call me Grandma Xing. With the Star Tower in this state, I’m no Tower Master now."
Lan Chen had known before arriving that the Star Tower’s resources might be scarce, but the reality was even worse than he’d imagined. Fortunately, he and Qin Yun could survive without relying on resources.
"Grandma Xing, how many more years until we can receive resources again?" Qin Yun asked.
"Eight thousand years!" Grandma Xing shook her head with a sigh. "It’s all because of that Tower Master—he was too impulsive back then and killed the Haoyang Pagoda’s Tower Master along with a group of its administrators in a single fit of rage!"
Qin Yun scoffed. "That shouldn’t have anything to do with the Star Tower, right? The Tower Master must’ve been punished for it, no?"
Grandma Xing also sounded angry. "Exactly! It really had nothing to do with us descendants, but the Haoyang Pagoda suffered heavy losses back then and made us pay for it. So, they deducted our resources for 30,000 years to make up for it!"
"Now, the Haoyang Pagoda is the top tower! They grew so quickly precisely because they took our resources!"
Lan Chen exclaimed in surprise, "So that’s the history of the Hundred Towers Sect! No wonder the Haoyang Pagoda has remained the top tower for so long and has so many disciples—they stole everything from the Star Tower!"
"Exactly! Our Star Tower once made great contributions, so we received substantial resources—until the Haoyang Pagoda took them all!" Grandma Xing’s voice was filled with helplessness and fury as she recounted the past.
Lan Chen looked around the shabby first-floor hall and remarked, "Honestly, it’s a wonder the Star Tower’s still standing after these past 20,000 years!"
Grandma Xing said, "Junior brothers, don’t give up… Don’t let this mess drive you off. Our Star Tower used to be something—we’ve still got something left in us!"
The other senior brothers quickly nodded in agreement.
Lan Chen rubbed his bald head and asked, "Grandma Xing, we came to study celestial knowledge! That knowledge still exists, doesn't it?"
Grandma Xing smiled and nodded. "Of course it does! That's Star Tower's most prized possession!"
"Awesome! Can we see it now?" Qin Yun asked.
"Of course!" Grandma Xing replied. "This way, follow me!"
Grandma Xing led Qin Yun and Lan Chen to a corner.
Qin Yun pointed in another direction and said, "Grandma Xing, the staircase is that way!"
Grandma Xing chuckled. "The knowledge of our Star Tower isn't in this crumbling tower!"
Qin Yun and Lan Chen shared a look of surprise, both secretly buzzing with excitement.
When they reached the corner, Grandma Xing said, "Check the ground at your feet. Can you spot anything?"
Qin Yun immediately noticed a circular ring over three meters wide in the corner.
Upon closer inspection, his eyes widened in shock. "A transport array!"
Even Grandma Xing and the seniors looked stunned.
"Xiao Yun, how did you know?" Grandma Xing exclaimed in surprise.
"Well... I've studied mystic sigils before," Qin Yun replied with a smile. "So I recognized it!"
Qin Yun was just as stunned by the teleportation array because it was different from the ones he had seen before.
The array beneath their feet was primarily composed of star and moon patterns, along with sun patterns—but no dao patterns!
This meant it was a celestial teleportation array, not for earthly transport.
Grandma Xing said, "Off we go! I'll take you to our Star Tower's archives!"
She activated the teleportation array and disappeared in a flash from the corner of Star Tower.
Qin Yun and Lan Chen were swallowed by a kaleidoscope of light before arriving in somewhere unrecognizable.
"Where is this...?" Qin Yun looked up and saw a massive cyan star looming overhead, bearing down on him.
All around them, enormous multicolored stars drifted in slow rotation, as if they might come crashing down at any moment.
Lan Chen was also gaping at the massive stars surrounding them.
"We're on a tiny asteroid!" Grandma Xing said with a laugh.
Qin Yun and Lan Chen looked down and saw another teleportation array beneath their feet, while ahead stood a large building.
Grandma Xing pointed at the surrounding stars and explained, "Though these stars are colossal, don't worry—they won't collide with us. They were placed here by our Star Tower's predecessors to guard this place!"
"A stellar mega-array!" Qin Yun took a deep breath, awestruck by the implication, and couldn't help but admire the power of Star Tower's elders.
His heart swelled with excitement, for this meant Star Tower must possess countless celestial formations—and untold stellar sigils!
"Come on, let's go!" Grandma Xing was also very happy, because she could see Qin Yun and Lan Chen truly wanted to learn.
For years, Star Tower hadn’t had any young members, mostly because they got scared off.
"Grandma Xing, those senior disciples are so old. Aren’t you going to help them break through?" Qin Yun said. "If they don’t break through soon, they might just die of old age!"
"It’s out of our hands! If they want to break through, they’ll need to gather a massive amount of energy... but we don’t have the resources, and they’re too old now—they don’t have the strength left to fight for it!"
Grandma Xing sighed deeply. "In the past, many young people joined our Star Tower, but many just wanted to trick us for our knowledge, so I drove them away. Over time, the disciples left became fewer and older, but they’ve all remained loyal to Star Tower!"
Lan Chen said, "Grandma Xing, are you sure we’re not here to deceive you for knowledge?"
Grandma Xing chuckled. "If you can make it into the Star-Gazing Pavilion up ahead, then you’re truly meant to join Star Tower!"
Qin Yun suddenly grew worried. "Grandma Xing, I’m afraid I might not make it through!"
Grandma Xing grabbed Qin Yun’s hand with a smile. "Xiao Yun, what’s your purpose in coming to Star Tower?"
Qin Yun replied, "To learn! And... seeing Star Tower in such rough shape, I also want to help improve it!"
"That’s enough!" Grandma Xing laughed and yanked Qin Yun along as they sprinted toward the three-story pavilion.
The door stood open, but a barrier blocked the way!
Grandma Xing led Qin Yun, and in an instant, they passed through the entrance of the Star-Gazing Pavilion.
"Hah! We’re in! Xiao Yun, you’re now a disciple of Star Tower!" Grandma Xing turned to Lan Chen behind them and called, "Xiao Lan, hurry up and get in here!"
Lan Chen, nervous but determined, rushed forward and also passed through the door smoothly.
"How does this barrier even work? It can sense sincerity?" Lan Chen asked in amazement, staring at the barrier.
"It was created by our predecessors in Star Tower. Anyway, no spy’s ever gotten past it!" Grandma Xing was even happier now, as both Lan Chen and Qin Yun had gained recognition.
Once inside, Qin Yun and Lan Chen saw countless bookshelves, which instantly overwhelmed them—there were just too many books.
"Grandma Xing, what should we learn first?" Qin Yun asked, feeling lost.
"Xiao Yun, which aspect of stellar knowledge interests you?" Grandma Xing inquired.
"I... I like star arrays and star patterns, as well as knowledge about stellar resources. Also, Star Souls, Star Totems, and Star Martial Souls... I’ve heard even the moon and the Nine Sun count as stars, and I’m interested in those too!" Qin Yun said, thinking aloud.
"Xiao Yun, that’s quite a broad range!" Grandma Xing exclaimed in surprise, then turned to Lan Chen.
Lan Chen said, "I want to learn how to harness the power of Star Totems, and in the future, I wish to travel the starry seas! Just these two things."
"Good. I’ll grab the right books for you. Stay put!" Grandma Xing nodded and walked toward the bookshelves ahead.
