Chapter 0944 Revival
byChapter 0944: Rebirth
Grandma Xing watched from the side, looking at Qin Yun with astonishment. The leap from Peak Martial King to the Martial Emperor Realm was just one step away. Generally, with decent talent, they’d eventually make it.
However, the time required varied from person to person, and luck also played a role.
Some might grind away for millennia without ever breaking through.
Yet Qin Yun could force someone’s breakthrough from Peak Martial King to Martial Emperor—a skill like that was unheard of.
"Elder Xie, how many Emperor Source Stones do you have?" Qin Yun asked.
"I have twenty mid-grade Emperor Source Stones. If I drain them all, I should be able to break through, but it’d still take a century at best!" Xie Wufeng replied.
Qin Yun pulled out a talisman with a grin. "Elder Xie, hand over your Emperor Source Stones!"
Once Xie Wufeng produced one, Qin Yun stuck the talisman onto it.
The energy within the Emperor Source Stone immediately surged out, engulfing the whole hall and lighting up the rundown Star Tower in a radiant glow.
Qin Yun yanked the talisman off to prevent further energy loss.
Witnessing this, both Grandma Xing and Xie Wufeng were gaping in shock.
Qin Yun could actually make an Emperor Stone’s energy gush out in an instant!
Usually, trying to absorb energy from multiple Emperor Source Stones at once, you’d still hit a limit. Moreover, the energies from different stones clashed, making simultaneous absorption impossible.
Thus, you had to take them one at a time. But pulling energy from Emperor Stones was slow and grueling.
Yet Qin Yun had used a single talisman to make energy explode out from the stone!
"Elder Xie, this talisman can be used for all twenty Emperor Source Stones! I’d bet you’ll break through in ten days flat!" Qin Yun smiled and handed the talisman to Xie Wufeng.
Xie Wufeng took a deep breath, battling back his shock and glee, then chuckled. "Brother Yun, I won’t take this talisman for free! Just name it—this talisman must’ve been hell to make!"
"We’re brothers—no need for formalities! It’s a gift!" Qin Yun laughed. "If that brat Ye Yaoxue ever tries to hunt me down, just lend me a hand!"
"If I become a Martial Emperor, even if I can’t defeat her, buying you time would be a cinch!" Xie Wufeng grinned. "I heard she once promised to marry you but went back on her word. If you ever decide to capture her, let me know—I’ll join you!"
"Deal!" Qin Yun laughed.
Xie Wufeng knew Qin Yun lacked nothing, and anything he could offer would likely be beneath Qin Yun’s notice.
"Elder Xie, once you become a Martial Emperor, can you defeat Murong Tianzhe?" Qin Yun asked.
"Absolutely!" Lan Chen answered. "When Elder Xie was still a Peak Martial King, he was already matching Murong Tianzhe blow for blow. If he breaks through, how could Murong Tianzhe stand a chance? He’ll crush him effortlessly!"
Xie Wufeng simply smiled in response.
"Elder Xie, there’s a sword clan in the Mortal Domain with many sword cultivators. If you get the chance, you might want to exchange insights with them. I can introduce you!" Qin Yun said with a grin. "If you see Murong Laoer or Huo Lao San, don’t tell them I’m here!"
"Got it!" Xie Wufeng nodded. "I’ll head back first!"
Lan Chen laughed. "I’ll return to the tournament too—my luck’s been good, winning several rounds in a row! Those bastards all thought I, a Star Tower disciple, was a fraud, but I proved them wrong one by one!"
"Xiao Lan, don’t push yourself too hard. Stay safe!" Grandma Xing reminded him.
"I know!" Lan Chen chuckled before leaving with Xie Wufeng.
Grandma Xing and Qin Yun bid farewell to Xie Wufeng and Lan Chen before returning to the crumbling Star Tower.
"Xiao Yun, I was right to make you the Tower Master!" Grandma Xing smiled. "You're a Runes Grand Master. You should know that apart from me, all previous Tower Masters were Runes Masters! Among the books I selected for you, there are many on star runes. Master them thoroughly!"
Qin Yun nodded and said, "Grandma Xing, should we renovate this Star Tower?"
Grandma Xing chuckled. "A light refurbishment will suffice. This tower was attacked by the First Tower faction and still didn’t collapse—its materials are excellent! Once those senior disciples come out, we can start the renovations."
"Good!" Qin Yun sat down, hoping those senior disciples would recover their spirit.
With their help, the trap array he and Ying Chengyu were refining could be completed quickly.
Grandma Xing said, "Xiao Yun, why don’t you become the chief disciple? Our Star Tower doesn’t have one yet!"
Qin Yun laughed. "I’m already the Tower Master. Let Lan Chen take the position."
Grandma Xing replied, "The chief disciple must be able to withstand opponents one level higher! For example, at your current late-stage Martial King Realm, you’d need to stand your ground against a Peak Martial King. Although Xiao Lan is a mid-stage Martial King, if a strong late-stage Martial King challenges him, he definitely won’t withstand it!"
"Don’t worry—you can refuse any challenges."
Qin Yun thought for a moment and said, "Alright then! As the chief disciple, can I also challenge others freely?"
Grandma Xing grinned. "Yes! Once your strength is sufficient, you can try challenging Ye Yaoxue from the First Tower. That arrogant little girl once showed off in front of me—you must win her over!"
Qin Yun shook his head with a smile.
Afterward, Grandma Xing imparted to Qin Yun the duties a Tower Master needed to know.
Although there was internal strife within the Hundred Towers Sect, when facing external threats, they had to unite and drive back the enemy as one—after all, it concerned the entire sect’s reputation.
Qin Yun also inquired about the Dragon Gate and the eight Nine Sun sects but learned little. He only knew that the Dragon Gate was at war with several sects. Although there was a temporary truce, their situation remained perilous.
Qin Yun could only hope the Sword Family would seize the opportunity to take down the Dragon Gate and secure a foothold in the Profound Domain.
Grandma Xing left the Star Tower to register Qin Yun as the chief disciple and retrieve his token.
Meanwhile, Qin Yun took the chance to absorb the knowledge from the soul-bound books.
Ling Yuner smiled. "Xiao Yun, if there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me! I’ve already studied the contents of those soul-bound books."
Qin Yun asked, "Is there anything related to the Ancient Domain?"
"Yes!" Ling Yuner said. "One book records travels through the starry seas and mentions an energy-rich starry realm, where trillions of pavilions float in the void!"
"Could that be the Ancient Domain?" Qin Yun frowned.
"Most likely. It also mentions that inside the Ancient Domain, there are 108 white stars bright as blazing suns, forming a massive array to protect it. Moreover, it drifts, making it hard to locate at times," Ling Yuner added.
"Does it say how to get there?" Qin Yun asked.
"Yes… but it’s very far away. It would take at least a thousand years to find it!" Ling Yuner said. "It seems we must pin our hopes on Xiao Tian for now."
Yu Shutian’s Ancient Star Pagoda, like the Star Tower, hoarded vast astral lore—even more so, as the Star Tower had declined for twenty to thirty thousand years while the Ancient Star Pagoda continued to develop.
Later, Qin Yun focused on assimilating the wisdom from the book on star runes, learning much about their applications.
To his surprise, many of the star runes recorded in the book were ones he recognized.
Many of them were almost identical to the stellar patterns he had obtained from the Odd Pattern Sect.
Qin Yun could also tell that these were stellar patterns derived by two different individuals from the same starry sky. Though they appeared similar, some details were subtly different, making them worthy of study.
This allowed Qin Yun to combine the strengths of both, enhancing the stellar patterns to become even better and more powerful.
Most of the stellar patterns Qin Yun mastered were relatively low-tier, primarily Spirit-level stellar patterns.
Now, he could upgrade the batch of Spirit-level stellar patterns in his possession to Mystic-level or even Dao-level stellar patterns!
Of course, this would require time and gradual refinement in the future.
Several days passed, and Grandma Xing and the senior disciples, cultivating within the Stellar Grand Formation, all became rejuvenated.
Especially the older senior disciples—many of them had previously been covered in wrinkles, looking like they were on death’s door. But now, they had broken through, their wrinkles significantly reduced, with some even regaining skin as smooth as a baby’s.
After being stuck at bottlenecks for years with no cultivation resources, the sudden absorption of vast amounts of Stellar Force allowed them to break through their bottlenecks in one go.
The senior disciples were deeply grateful to Qin Yun.
Thus, when Qin Yun asked for their help in setting up formations, they readily agreed.
With a group of Stellar Force warriors assisting, Qin Yun completed the stellar-pattern-based trap formation, commissioned by Ying Chengyu, in just five days!
Once the trap formation was ready, he left the Hundred Towers Sect to report back to Ying Chengyu.
After delivering the formation to Ying Chengyu and receiving five Imperial Source Stones in return, Qin Yun swiftly returned to the Star Tower.
From Ying Chengyu, he learned that many people had been searching for him recently—mostly powerful Emperor Wu from the First Tower or other towers, all trying to curry favor with Ye Yaoxue.
These Emperor Wu were searching for Qin Yun, intending to teach him a lesson and avenge Ye Yaoxue.
Many Emperor Wu from the Hundred Towers Sect were looking for Qin Yun, unaware that he was right within the sect—and had even become a Tower Master.
Upon returning to the Star Tower, Qin Yun sensed Lan Chen’s energy as soon as he reached the entrance.
Lan Chen had just returned from a martial contest, but his energy felt wrong.
"Old Lan is severely injured!" Qin Yun frowned and rushed inside, only to find Lan Chen covered in wounds, with not a single inch of unbroken skin left on his body.
Horrifyingly, all his fingers had been severed, and his head was a bloody mess.
Grandma Xing, her brow tightly furrowed and her face filled with anguish, was treating Lan Chen’s wounds.
Other senior disciples, their faces dark with rage and grief, were applying various medicinal herbs to Lan Chen’s wounds.
Qin Yun clenched his fists, the fists clenched so tight they creaked.
"Grandma Xing, what happened? It was just a martial contest—why is Old Lan in this state?" Qin Yun growled, voice thick with anger.
"They... they discovered my Star Totem!" Lan Chen’s voice was weak but brimming with anger. "They tried to scalp me to steal it! If Miss Yu and the others hadn’t intervened, I would’ve died there!"
"Who did this?" Qin Yun asked coldly.
Lan Chen held back, worried about Qin Yun’s reaction, and didn’t answer.
Grandma Xing said furiously, "It must have been the Baolong Tower! Those bastards are in cahoots with the Dragon Gate, though we’ve never had proof. They love destroying talented disciples within the Hundred Towers Sect!"
"I’m going to settle this now!" Qin Yun strode toward the entrance. "Where is this newcomer tournament held? Am I still eligible?"
