Chapter 0349: Immortal Tomb
byChapter 0349: Immortal Tomb
"I didn’t check the almanac before we left. Why are we so unlucky? Running into a real dragon in the Yunlong Mountains!" Zi Qingcheng murmured anxiously.
Qin Yun was equally alarmed; the disturbance earlier was quite intense, and they could clearly sense the dragon's aura, accompanied by a scorching wind.
More than an hour passed.
Zi Qingcheng said with some relief, "It seems we haven't heard the dragon's roar for the past hour! Has the dragon moved on?"
Lan Fengjin pulled out a set of blue armor and swiftly donned it inside the carriage, encasing her curvaceous figure.
"It seems traversing the Yunlong Mountains won’t be a walk in the park!" Lan Fengjin also prepared for battle.
Qin Yun sighed, "I hope we can make it to Wuhuang in one piece. Even though Sister Lan and I are both Martial Warriors, the Yunlong Mountains are getting more and more treacherous, with more and more powerful creatures."
Zi Qingcheng thought for a moment and said, "Let’s avoid flying and instead trek through the jungle of the Yunlong Mountains. It will be safer! Flying makes us an easy target for the dragon!"
Qin Yun and Lan Fengjin both nodded.
Zi Qingcheng is a Spirit Martial realm practitioner, so even if she encounters strong Demon Beasts, she can handle them.
After they exited the RV, Zi Qingcheng put the vehicle away, and they swiftly made their way through the forest.
The forest is teeming with poisonous insects, snakes, and thorny plants, but for Martial Warriors, they pose no threat.
Only powerful Demon Beasts or spirit-level creatures can threaten them.
As they sprinted, Zi Qingcheng murmured, "As far as I know, many powerful warriors have entered Wuhuang. The Burial Immortal Ground has shown signs of activity recently, which is why many people have come to investigate!"
"Activity? Has the Immortal Bone Burial Ground been discovered?" Lan Fengjin asked in surprise.
"It's not clear yet, but some Feng Shui masters have picked up on some clues, claiming that the Immortal Tomb here has disrupted the natural energy of heaven and earth..." Zi Qingcheng shook her head, "Anyway, that's what several Feng Shui masters have said!"
Qin Yun was anxious that the Immortal Bone Burial Ground might be uncovered, as it hides secrets about Xie Qirou.
Moreover, the souls of his mother, Xiao Yuelan’s mother, and Qi Meilian’s mother all reside in the Immortal Bone Burial Ground.
"It is said that after crossing the Yunlong River, it is the area of the Burial Immortal Ground!" Qin Yun said.
"That's indeed the case! This area falls within the Burial Immortal Ground, the domain of the Immortal Tomb, but no one knows where the real Immortal Bone Burial Ground is!"
Zi Qingcheng said, "Legend has it that this place was once a barren wasteland, later transformed into a vast cemetery, eventually becoming the Yunlong Mountains!"
...
The three of them ran through the forest for two days, resting only two or three hours each day.
They also encountered some Demon Beasts and spirit-level creatures.
However, as soon as Zi Qingcheng released her Spirit Martial realm aura, those Demon Beasts were scared away.
At noon, after resting, Qin Yun and the others continued running.
Suddenly, Zi Qingcheng called out softly, "Stop, there's someone ahead!"
Qin Yun and Lan Fengjin hadn't noticed anyone ahead, which made them alert immediately. They took out their weapons, ready for battle.
This forest, with trees as tall as two to three hundred meters, is very dense, blocking the sunlight, making the forest damp and cool with breezes.
Running into people in a place like this is pretty unexpected!
If a few powerful Demon Beasts had popped out, they wouldn’t have been shocked.
"Are they heading to Wuhuang too, just like us?" Qin Yun murmured.
Zi Qingcheng’s face turned serious, a sign that the people up ahead were no pushovers.
"They’ve seen us!" Zi Qingcheng drew her long hooks, ready to fight. "If they’re too strong, I’ll cover you—just run!"
No sooner had she spoken than ten people materialized, encircling them.
Qin Yun and Lan Fengjin were stunned—all ten of these people were Spirit Martial realm cultivators!
What’s more, most of them looked middle-aged, a sign they were talented enough to reach the Spirit Martial realm at a young age!
"Well, if it isn’t Zi Qingcheng!" A black-armored middle-aged man smirked. "Your Purple Spirit Star Palace got wiped out? What are you doing out here all alone?"
Zi Qingcheng sheathed her hooks, her expression easing slightly, as though she recognized them. "You know there are dragons around here, right? Huddling together and flaring your auras—aren’t you worried you’ll draw one in?"
Qin Yun scanned the group—seven men and three women, all middle-aged Spirit Martial realm cultivators.
In the Spirit Martial realm, it’s rare to find someone like Zi Qingcheng, who still looks so young.
"Of course we know!" A woman in red, her eyes tinged with envy, shot Zi Qingcheng a look. "We’ve found the immortal tomb! We’re just checking to make sure the dragon’s not around."
Qin Yun’s heart skipped a beat—the immortal tomb had been discovered!
"Really?" Zi Qingcheng exclaimed, surprised. "That was way too easy!"
"What, you think you’re coming? Not a chance! We’re the ones who busted our backs finding it!" The woman in red sneered.
A middle-aged man in gray robes pulled out a space communication bead, apparently talking to someone.
"Master Wang Tian says to let them through!" the gray-robed man announced.
With that, Zi Qingcheng motioned for Qin Yun and Lan Fengjin to follow.
Along the way, Qin Yun found out that these ten were from various Xuan-level sects—and even there, they were just disciples!
It just goes to show how formidable Xuan-level sects really are!
Qin Yun grew anxious—he didn’t want the tomb opened yet, worried it might mess with Xie Qirou’s plans.
They trailed the Spirit Martial realm group, running for hours, until they reached a towering mountain.
Though it was night, they could make out a massive pit, several kilometers wide, down below.
At the center of the pit stood a golden tower, hundreds of meters wide and over a hundred meters tall.
What sent chills down their spines was the tower’s blood-red hue, as if it had been drenched in something sinister.
A burly man explained, "This place used to be covered in mountains, but we cleared them out and dug this massive pit to uncover the immortal tomb!"
Qin Yun thought to himself, *Has the immortal bone burial ground really been discovered? Does that mean the burial immortal map I have is worthless now?*
Zi Qingcheng frowned. "Did digging up this tomb draw the dragon here?"
Lan Fengjin also asked, "Shouldn’t there be powerful tomb guardians here or something?"
"Dragons have been around for ages! There were some tomb guardians, but they were just ghost beasts, and we dealt with them! Let's head down; Master Wang Tian wants to meet you!" said the leading middle-aged man.
Qin Yun also saw several houses on the edge of the several-kilometer-wide crater.
These houses are essentially mystical weapons, as they were refined by craftsmen to be able to shrink and expand, making them very convenient to carry.
Such houses were also very expensive and not something everyone could afford.
Zi Qingcheng whispered, "An operation this big must have been a joint effort by several Xuan-level sects!"
"Exactly! Moon Xuan Valley was in on it too!" the middle-aged man laughed. "Zi Qingcheng, isn't it thrilling to see the immortal tomb up close? But you won't get to go inside; you'll just have to look from the outside!"
Qin Yun never expected to just be passing through Wuhuang, but then encountered a dragon midway, and then a group of people who had found the immortal tomb.
Now, he was seeing the immortal tomb right before his eyes!
At night, the moonlight was soothing, and the stars were dazzling.
The golden pyramid-shaped tower, glowing red, seemed to soak up the starlight and moonlight, looking both eerie and terrifying...
Qin Yun and the others made their way to one of the houses and settled into a spacious hall.
Soon, the hall began to fill with people, among them several elders whose power was terrifying, their presence far surpassing that of the Spirit Martial realm!
Qin Yun now had a clearer understanding of the Xuan-level forces' power in Wuhuang; those elders were at the Xuan Martial realm!
The moment these elders appeared, everyone else bowed in respect, and only after they took their seats could everyone stand straight.
Even Spirit Martial realm warriors had to show respect in the presence of these elders.
Qin Yun also noticed that in the hall, only he and Lan Fengjin were at the Martial Dao realm; apart from those few at the Xuan Martial realm, the other twenty or so people were all at the Spirit Martial realm!
Among them, a long-bearded elder in a Taoist robe adorned with the Eight Trigrams approached Qin Yun, circled around him, nodded repeatedly, his face full of surprise.
"Master Wang Tian, how is it?" asked a thin elder at the Xuan Martial realm.
"Not bad, not bad!" Master Wang Tian stroked his long beard and let out a hearty laugh.
Qin Yun felt uneasy, unsure of what Master Wang Tian was scrutinizing.
Zi Qingcheng and Lan Fengjin were very worried.
At that moment, Zi Qingcheng deeply regretted tagging along!
"Esteemed elders, could you tell me what's so special about this young man?" Zi Qingcheng asked softly.
"We need a sacrificial offering, and it has to be a virgin boy from the Martial Dao realm! They are very hard to find, and we didn't expect you to bring one over!" Master Wang Tian chuckled.
Qin Yun cursed under his breath several times, then said, "Elder, I'm almost twenty, not a child anymore!"
"No problem, as long as you're a virgin! Young man, you're quite impressive, reaching the Martial Dao realm so young and so disciplined!" Master Wang Tian was very pleased, patting Qin Yun's shoulder with a smile.
"Elder, does this sacrifice... mean I have to die?" Qin Yun asked, stunned.
Master Wang Tian nodded.
Qin Yun cursed silently and quickly said, "Elder, you know I'm not even twenty yet and already at the Martial Dao realm, that's not easy..."
Zi Qingcheng also hurriedly said, "Elder, he is a very talented Martial Dao genius!"
Master Wang Tian smiled, "Such talent is impressive, but it's not rare in Wuhuang! So, we'll have to use him, and afterwards, I'll compensate you appropriately!"
Zi Qingcheng was furious, her face cold, "Don't touch him! You bastards, even if I die, I'll fight you to the bitter end!"
The other Spirit Martial realm warriors were all shocked and fearful; Zi Qingcheng actually dared to curse these venerable elders!
