Chapter 0892 Arcane Art Dao Techniques
byChapter 0892: Arcane Arts and Daoist Techniques
Qin Yun saw right through Ying Chengyu’s little scheme. He patted Ying Chengyu’s shoulder and chuckled, “Ex-Sect Leader, you say you’re grateful to me, but what good is that? Because I simply don’t trust you! Besides, if you’re grateful, shouldn’t you show some appreciation?”
Ying Chengyu cursed Qin Yun inwardly for being such a cunning little devil, knowing full well that Qin Yun wasn’t easy to fool.
He was well aware of Qin Yun’s capabilities—rescuing him from Qianyun Island Lord and his gang, then getting them killed. Just this alone proved Qin Yun was far beyond what he could match.
“How do you want me to show my gratitude?” Ying Chengyu asked, knowing that the best way to deal with Qin Yun was through quid pro quo.
“First, tell me about that map. Don’t try to lie—you can’t fool me!” Qin Yun said as he lifted Ying Chengyu and flew away from the area.
“Little brother, you’re imagining things! I don’t have that map. Don’t believe the nonsense from those corpses—I’d love to get my hands on it too!” Ying Chengyu sighed with a helpless expression.
“My esteemed elder, think again. I didn’t save you out of kindness—I did it for that map. If I get nothing after saving you, what do you think I'm capable of?” Qin Yun flew through the air, smiling as he looked down at Ying Chengyu, who was dangling below.
“You definitely won’t kill me! Little brother, I know you’re a good man… I really don’t have—” Before he could finish, Qin Yun let him drop from the sky.
“Ahhh—” Ying Chengyu screamed in terror. “Let’s negotiate! I can discuss the map with you—”
As he plummeted, seeing Qin Yun fly away without looking back, he wailed, “Little master, come back, come back! I’ll give you the map!”
If he landed in such a place, powerless and immobilized, he’d surely be devoured by HalfImmortal creatures.
Hearing this, Qin Yun blinked down in an instant, catching Ying Chengyu mid-fall. Grinning, he said, “Old timer, you should be glad you met me. Otherwise, you’d have died horribly!”
“Meeting you is my worst luck! Qianyun Island Lord and his gang were already letting their guard down after torturing me. I just needed a little trick to make them pay dearly—but you had to barge in and ruin my plan!” Ying Chengyu looked ready to weep, his eyes filled with resignation.
“Oh? That just proves how smart I was—my timing was perfect!” Qin Yun laughed.
“You little brat! Those Sky Lions were your doing, weren’t they? You little rascal, with your low cultivation, always picking fights with powerful HalfImmortals—one day, you’ll die miserably!” Ying Chengyu muttered under his breath.
Qin Yun pulled Ying Chengyu along and landed atop a high mountain. Setting him down, he smiled. “Now, the map.”
“Remove the talisman on my back, and I can use my mental energy to take the map from my storage artifact. But you must promise to return it after copying it!” Ying Chengyu said.
“If I remove the talisman, will you attack me with mental energy?” Qin Yun asked.
“Of course not!” Ying Chengyu said irritably. “If you don’t trust me, then we really have nothing to discuss!”
After a moment’s thought, Qin Yun removed the talisman from Ying Chengyu’s back, bracing for any mental energy assault.
True to his word, Ying Chengyu didn’t attack him and instead retrieved an old, folded piece of beast hide from his storage artifact.
The hide was pale yellow, incredibly soft, and folded into many layers. It was also unusually heavy—weighing over ten thousand jin—clearly specially refined.
When Qin Yun unfolded the map, it spanned over ten meters in length and width, dotted with numerous small marks.
Ying Chengyu explained, “Those dots represent islands—a detailed sea chart of a region in the Super Mystic Sea. The red marks indicate the destination.”
“What’s at the destination?” Qin Yun took out a recording device—a large, square mirror the size of a table, capable of imprinting whatever it reflected.
After copying the map, Qin Yun folded it and returned it to Ying Chengyu.
“Honestly, I don’t know what’s at the destination. Qianyun Island Lord probably knew… This map has triggered countless conflicts in the Super Mystic Sea over millennia. I was just lucky to stumble upon it.”
“You really don’t know?” Qin Yun asked.
“I’ve already given you the map—why would I hide anything? But you can always make inquiries in the Super Mystic Sea later.” Ying Chengyu smiled. “Little brother, will you release me now?”
"The chains binding your hands and feet, I can't break them!" Qin Yun said. Although his Soul Sacred Blade had self-sealed, the Nine Sun Godhammer was still available and could break them.
He didn’t want to reveal the Nine Sun Godhammer to avoid attracting Ying Chengyu’s attention.
Ying Chengyu took out a blue saw from his storage artifact and said, "Use this saw. It’ll take about an hour to cut through!"
"If I free you, you won’t kill me, right?" Qin Yun picked up the saw with a grin.
"If I really wanted to deal with you, I could kill you with my spiritual power!" Ying Chengyu chuckled. "Don’t worry!"
"You can’t kill me with spiritual power. You’re not confident enough, which is why you haven’t acted!" Qin Yun glanced at the saw and smiled. "I still don’t trust you! Besides, even if I killed you, what could you do?"
Ying Chengyu suddenly wailed dramatically, tears streaming down his face as he cried, "Why is my fate so bitter? Go ahead, kill me!"
"I’m a good person, so I won’t kill you!" Qin Yun laughed. "Goodbye!"
"Little brother, don’t go, don’t go!" Ying Chengyu cried out. "Tell me what you want! If I have it, I’ll give it to you!"
He knew very well that unless he offered something valuable, Qin Yun wouldn’t release him.
Qin Yun grinned. "How would I know what you have? How about this—you give me something as a thank-you gift. If I’m satisfied, I’ll take the risk and free you!"
"Oh venerable elder, you must understand—freeing you could get me killed! If you can’t offer something good enough to tempt my greedy heart, I won’t take that risk!" Qin Yun said with a laugh.
"Screw your ‘venerable elder’ nonsense!" Ying Chengyu cursed through tears. "I really don’t have anything good left. You already have treasures like the Heavenly Lion Subduing Dragon Cauldron—how could you possibly want anything from me?"
"Fine, take the saw! It’s the best thing I have!"
Qin Yun laughed. "This saw is mine now! You threw it away, and I picked it up—so it’s mine! You didn’t give it to me!"
Ying Chengyu cursed Qin Yun countless times in his heart, gnashing his teeth in anger. His expression alone betrayed the unspoken filth.
"I have a Martial King-tier artifact. Do you want it?" Ying Chengyu said.
"Show it to me first!" Qin Yun demanded.
Ying Chengyu wasn’t foolish enough to fall for that. If he took it out, Qin Yun would shamelessly swipe it and call it ‘found’.
"No, unless you free me first!" Ying Chengyu said. "That artifact is the best thing I have!"
"Who are you fooling? You’re a Half-Immortal, once the leader of the Immortal Armaments Sect. You must have at least one or two immortal artifacts, right?" Qin Yun smirked.
"I really don’t have any immortal artifacts... The most valuable things I have are probably the several dozen Martial King Heart Fruits. But since you’re already at the late-stage Martial King Realm, you wouldn’t care for those. They’re useless to you now!" Ying Chengyu was genuinely surprised to learn Qin Yun’s true cultivation level.
After all, Qin Yun hadn’t even been a Martial King before, yet his progress was astonishingly fast.
Qin Yun inwardly crowed. While the Martial King Heart Fruits were useless to him, they would be invaluable to Shui Tianzi and Zi Qingcheng.
Those two peerless ladies had been cursed and had fallen into a cursed stasis, missing out on cultivation.
"Alright, let’s say those several dozen Martial King Heart Fruits count as half a gift. Give me another half!" Qin Yun said. "Don’t worry, I’m a man of simple tastes. Just offer something decent!"
"*Tch*—easily satisfied? Even if you filled the entire Supreme Profound Sea and all its islands, it still wouldn’t satisfy your greed!" Ying Chengyu muttered, scrambling his wits for what to give Qin Yun.
Qin Yun chuckled. "Elder, the fact that you’re racking your brains to think of what to give me shows you must have plenty of good stuff!"
"No, my storage artifact is mostly dregs, beneath your lofty standards, you little demon!" Ying Chengyu felt uneasy seeing Qin Yun’s grin. "I do have an Arcane Art called Shattering Star Palm, designed for the Vibrational Martial Soul!"
Qin Yun had obtained Arcane Arts before, but they were mediocre and crude, unable to fully unlock his Martial Soul’s potential.
"No way! I already have Arcane Arts, and these techniques are all too lousy!" Qin Yun snorted.
"The Arcane Arts you've obtained are all bottom-tier, of course they're lousy! The one I have, hehe, was passed down from the Immortal Wasteland!" Ying Chengyu said. "I'll give it to you directly, and it even has annotations with others' insights!"
Qin Yun said, "Show it to me first. If I'm satisfied, I'll let you go!"
"Fine!" Ying Chengyu used his mental energy to fling a book from his storage treasure.
Qin Yun picked it up and flipped to the first page.
Ling Yuner, seeing the contents on the first page, shouted, "Xiao Yun, take this book! This is an Arcane Dao Technique!"
"What's the difference between Arcane Dao Technique and Heavenly Might Dao Technique?" Qin Yun asked in surprise.
"There's a huge difference! Arcane Dao Technique solely channels martial soul power, while Heavenly Might Dao Technique utilizes the strength of the entire body!" Ling Yuner explained. "From the introduction, this Shattering Star Palm is an exclusive Dao Technique, created specifically for a certain type of martial soul!"
Qin Yun turned to Ying Chengyu and asked, "Where are the annotations from that expert?"
"Buddy, the annotations are in the original book! Let me go first, then you get the original—deal?" Ying Chengyu chuckled.
