Chapter 0900: Brothers Reunited
byChapter 0900: Brothers Reunite
Lei Xiong was stunned, looking at Qin Yun with an urge to kneel in thanks. He seemed to have even forgotten about the flying dagger talisman weapon still lodged in his dantian.
Gong Feiyan clenched her jaw and hurried over as well, lowering her voice to say, "Lord Yun, it was my ignorance that offended you earlier. Please forgive me!"
She had only dared to approach after seeing Qin Yun's magnanimity. Whether it worked or not, apologizing first was the priority.
"No harm done," Qin Yun glanced at Hong Mengshu.
"Meng Shu... I’m sorry! Once I return to the Gong family, I’ll make sure the elders prepare gifts to make amends to you!" Gong Feiyan pleaded with Hong Mengshu, her voice trembling with remorse.
Her fine brows furrowed slightly, biting her lip as tears welled up in her beautiful eyes.
"You’d better remember what you said! I’ll be waiting for that apology gift!" Hong Mengshu snorted.
"I will remember!" Gong Feiyan managed a smile and nodded.
Old Feitian chuckled, "Grandmaster, are you free now? If so, could we have a detailed discussion?"
"Sure," Qin Yun replied.
"Wait!" The Hunchback Steward smiled. "Grandmaster, here’s your payment!"
Qin Yun took the storage bag, which contained five Emperor Source Stones. Though their quality was average, it was better than nothing.
After all, he hadn’t expended much effort to earn them!
Old Feitian grinned, "Grandmaster, let’s talk in the private room!"
Qin Yun and Old Feitian entered the chamber and closed the door behind them.
Ying Chengyu laughed, "That Old Feitian must have some good treasures he doesn’t want us to know about. What a cunning old coot!"
The Hunchback Steward remarked, "Brother Yu, you must have quite a few treasures yourself, right?"
Ying Chengyu chuckled, "Not at all... In the Super Mystic Sea, I’m nicknamed 'Junk King' because all I have is a collection of scrap!"
Meanwhile, Lei Xiong approached Hong Mengshu and said, "Miss Meng Shu, when the Grandmaster comes out, could you ask him to help remove the flying dagger from me?"
"He’ll help you! You’ve seen it yourself—Brother Yun is a reasonable man. As long as you don’t provoke him, he’s very approachable!" Hong Mengshu replied.
"Yes, yes! It’s all our fault for disrespecting him earlier..." Lei Xiong quickly agreed.
"He’s not old!" Hong Mengshu let out a laugh.
A short while later, Qin Yun and Old Feitian emerged.
Old Feitian’s round face lit up, his eyes crinkled shut from sheer delight.
Inside, Qin Yun had fixed in no time a Half-Immortal Artifact for Old Feitian.
The artifact had three sets of flawed Moon Patterns.
Since Qin Yun had mastered many Moon Patterns, he didn’t even need Mo Mo’s help and fixed it quickly by himself. This further earned Old Feitian’s greater respect.
Of course, Old Feitian also gave Qin Yun several Emperor Source Stones as thanks.
To Qin Yun, it was merely a quick fix—yet he had earned five Emperor Source Stones that easily. Pretty good deal.
After Qin Yun went out, he made small talk with the group and then helped Lei Xiong remove the flying dagger.
The Half-Immortal elder from the Qianfeng Sect wanted Lei Xiong to rejoin the sect, but Lei Xiong refused.
Surprisingly, Lei Xiong even expressed his desire to follow Qin Yun and become his attendant!
Even more astonishingly, Qin Yun declined!
Lei Xiong felt regretful and then left the Arcane Hall.
Later, the Hunchback Steward escorted Qin Yun, Hong Mengshu, and Hong Ying to the luxury suite in Arcane Hall.
Hong Ying said, "Mengshu, I’ll rest easy with Xiao Yun looking after you during this time! Once you join a sect, just send me a message. I plan to go out and roam around alone!"
"Alright!" Hong Mengshu laughed. "Father, I’m not a child anymore. You don’t need to worry about me!"
Hong Ying nodded and then left the suite.
Qin Yun sat in the hall, sipping on sweet juice.
After seeing Hong Ying off, Hong Mengshu returned to the hall.
"Brother Yun, you’re amazing! Just by doing a few simple things, you’ve helped me gain so much!" Hong Mengshu patted Qin Yun’s shoulder and laughed happily.
She took out several Imperial Source Stones and placed them on the floor. "Here’s half for you!"
Qin Yun smiled. "Hold onto them! These were given to you—I don’t want them."
Hong Mengshu frowned. "How can that be? If not for you, those sly old men would never have been willing to give me such precious things!"
"Just keep them!" Qin Yun chuckled. "Besides, I don’t lack a few of these anyway."
Hong Mengshu grinned. "Looks like you’re stacked!"
Qin Yun pinched Hong Mengshu’s cheek and teased, "Sister Piggy, have you missed Yuemei during this time?"
Hong Mengshu pouted and scolded lightly, "Don’t call me Meng Pig… It’s all because of that brat Yuemei, who’s rubbed off on you! Of course, I miss her—I really want to squeeze her cheeks!"
Qin Yun laughed. "She didn’t corrupt me. When we were together, she hardly mentioned you!"
Hong Mengshu immediately stamped her foot and angrily scolded, "That ungrateful brat! She was so sad when we parted, yet she forgot about me so quickly!"
Qin Yun couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Brother Yun, what exactly happened between you and that Brother Yu?" Hong Mengshu asked curiously. "Was it really as he said—that you knelt and begged to be his servant?"
"That old fox…" Qin Yun smirked. "Do you think that’s possible? He just loves showing off and said that deliberately. I didn’t mind, so I let him boast."
Hong Mengshu muttered, "I knew it!"
Qin Yun asked, "Mengshu, how long have you and your father been in the Mystic Realm?"
Hong Mengshu thought for a moment and replied, "A while now! In the Mystic Realm, we even ran into those rascals Redeye and Mu Rong Xiaoren, as well as Huo Zhong and Xie Wufeng!"
Redeye was Hong Yan, Hong Ying’s son. Though he and Murong Daren often butted heads, they got along well and frequently ran wild together!
"Old Man Xie and the others are actually in the Mystic Realm! No wonder I haven’t heard any news about them!" Qin Yun said happily. "What brought them here?"
Hong Mengshu said, "When they first entered the Spirit Desolation, there was a minor hiccup, but fortunately, they managed to reach the Mortal Realm safely. Then they met a Mystic Realm elder and went there!"
"That's great! It's been so long since I last saw them. I wonder how they're doing!" Qin Yun couldn't help but recall the days in Wuhuang.
"I don't know... I only know Xie Wufeng has become very strong!" Hong Mengshu said.
"Of course! Elder Xie grinds like no one else, and he's incredibly talented!" Qin Yun laughed.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Without guessing, Qin Yun knew it was Ying Chengyu.
He opened the door with his mental energy and indeed saw Ying Chengyu walking in with a phony grin.
"Brother Yun... do you have time now? Help me repair an artifact!" Ying Chengyu grinned.
"Six Emperor Source Stones!" Qin Yun said.
"C'mon, we’re tight—make it four?" Ying Chengyu chuckled.
"Old Feitian and the Hunchback Steward both gave me eight each. How can you only offer four?" Qin Yun shot him a look.
"C'mon, Yun, spare me the act. They only gave you five each!" Ying Chengyu chuckled.
"Fine, give me five, and I’ll fix it for you!" Qin Yun smirked.
Ying Chengyu took out an old set of armor, pieced together with rigid plates and connected by special threads.
"This thing’s ancient!" Qin Yun frowned.
"Yes! It's a defensive armor, probably a Royal-grade artifact. Can you repair it?" Ying Chengyu rubbed his hands like a schemer. "I never knew you had such skills before!"
Hong Mengshu giggled, "Brother Yu, he works for you. How could you not know?"
"Miss Mengshu, don’t tease me. I already said he was only playing servant for kicks!" Ying Chengyu replied.
Qin Yun took out the Spirit Rhyme Brush and began repairing the damaged stellar and lunar sigils.
The ancient Stellar-Lunar Sigils he obtained from the Arcane Sigil Sect were once common but had been lost over time.
Through the visible patterns, he recognized them as familiar Stellar-Lunar Sigils. Without needing Mo Mo’s help, he could gather Blood Soul Power and re-engrave them.
Soon, Qin Yun finished.
Ying Chengyu handed over five Emperor Source Stones, groused, "A few flicks of your brush, and you earn several Emperor Source Stones—something I’d take over a decade to find!"
"Then fix it yourself if you can?" Qin Yun took them with a laugh.
Ying Chengyu inspected the relic armor, tested it, and gave an approving nod.
"You won’t stay here long, will you?" Ying Chengyu asked.
"I plan to roam around with Meng Shu," Qin Yun glanced at Hong Mengshu, "but I’ll stay in the Sigil Hall for a few days first."
"News of you’ll get around soon... but no one knows your real name, so don’t worry. If anyone comes looking, the Hunchback Steward will handle it." Ying Chengyu knew Qin Yun had a big-time enemy here—the Dragon Gate Sect.
"Loud and clear!" Qin Yun nodded.
"Remember, don’t expose your identity. If you go out, keep a low profile!" Ying Chengyu warned.
"Got it! Brother Yu, where are you planning to go?" Qin Yun asked.
"Me? I'll wander around too, maybe scrounge up some stuff!" Ying Chengyu laughed. "You've conned me out of plenty, you little punk!"
"That junk? Barely worth anything!" Qin Yun said.
Ying Chengyu cursed under his breath before leaving.
Qin Yun turned to Hong Mengshu and asked, "Meng Shu, I heard many major factions in the Profound Domain have been fighting. Is that true?"
"Yes! It was very intense before, but now they’ve stopped. All sides took heavy hits, so there’s a temporary truce... But my father says the reason for the ceasefire isn’t simple at all. As for why, I don’t know either!" Hong Mengshu replied.
Qin Yun was also curious about the reason for the truce but could only investigate it later. He then asked, "Meng Shu, which major sect do you want to join? We’ll go in a few days!"
"Let’s track down Elder Xie’s crew! See if we can join forces with them!" Hong Mengshu said with a smile.
